| So here's my first character, I hope he's up to par. I took the liberty to make an odd ball sibling, like Piper or Leo, one that is a bit different from their siblings, but still one of them.
Name: Raphael Cornell. Age/Birthday: Fifteen, October 16th. Gender: Male. God Parent: Hephaestus. Claimed: Yes. Mortal Family: His mother Sarah Cornell and his half sister Caroline Cornell, the step father, Carter Williams, passed away. Years in Camp: Three years. Brief History: Raphael grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and always thought of himself as the man of the house, his father certainly wasn't going to do anything. Like many Demigods, he had a revolting mortal step parent. Carter wasn't nearly as bad as many, but he was more so just not caring and lazy. He didn't hurt anyone, he didn't yell at them, he just did nothing. Raph would have gotten a job eventually if he didn't head for Camp Half Blood. By the age of five, he was diagnosed with Dyslexia and at seven, ADHD, and he developed a habbit of fiddling with his fingers, just running his thumb between them or twirling pencils and pens.
His sister was nothing like her father, she was lovable and sweet. She was a pain sometimes, especially with how hyper she was but her sweetness made up for it in Raph's opinion. As for Carter, Raph didn't really hate him, he just wasn't useful. His death wasn't exactly a heart breaking one for the family, since it was by his own hand, lung cancer from all his smoking.
As for everything else, Raph always loved design technology growing up, that and art class were his favorites. He loved making gadgets and figures and statues of all sorts. He helped build their home computer for relatively cheap and it ran better than any store bot piece of junk. He knows he's probably not the greatest Hephaestus child, but he knows he's not the worst.
When he was 12, he heard a howl in the streets one night, and his mother hurried him to their car and rushed them over to the Halfblood camp. His trip to camp was a bit nicer than most, the only real danger for him was a wild Hellhound that he heard before they left. It wasn't until later that Raphael learned this hell hound was more rebellious and faught its way out of the Underworld. The Hellhound didn't catch them until they just entered New York, which was a bit odd...The Hell Hound leaped onto the car, forcing Sarah to swerve off the road. Raph tumbled out of the car and the Hellhound immediately went for him. He managed to use a near by rock to smash it's head in the ground, knocking it unconcious until they got to camp, just in time for the other campers to help them with their monster chase.
At camp, he doesn't talk to anyone but his own brothers and sisters, mainly because he's always so quiet. He was homeschooled and never really developed social skills. Some campers probably don't even know what his voice sounds like. He prefers to make small gadgets, rather than heavy machines, making him one of the "weaker" Hephaestus children. He's also one of the most combat ready, acting more nimble and varsetile than his siblings, making his choice in gadgets much more reasonable. Physical Appearance: Raph's voice is rather low and deep, and he's quite tall, but he's very skinny. His hands are always worn and rough, like many hephaestus children. His hair is a dark chocolate brown, unkept but down, as if he never does anything with it besides wash it. His skin is rather pale and his eyes are a much lighter brown, more like a murky lake. His figure is slim, but built like a runner, and he's rather found of cargo shorts and tight fitting shirts, more flexibility and pockets. Personality: He's not very confident in himself aside from his metal works and fighting. As said, he's very quiet half the time and doesn't talk to anyone besides his siblings. He's a caring person, but maybe a bit too caring. For his humor, he's situational, good at making jokes of the current mood, but only his siblings would see that. Fatal Flaw: His flaws are in his lack of real boost in combat, aside from his gadgets. He's much like a Batman, where he has no real power and is doomed without his tools. For his social asspect, he cares a lot about others, even those he fights. Unless the enemy is an outright monster, he may second guess his actions and play a bit gulible. Pets: No real pets. Talents: He's good at crafting small devices, but not large machines. He loves making swiss army knives, electrical devices. He is also a rather nimble and stealthy fighter, not liking to be weighed down by armor or machinery. Weapons: His weapons of choice are two light maces, one for each hand. Their crafted in pure Celestial Bronze and designed to move swiftly in his hands and hit hard. In place of sharp spikes, small bright flames shoot out across the end for added effect. Year-Round or Summer: Summer to head home and visit his sister.

| I'm liking this character. You're lacking a sentence in Personality, btw. It needs a minimum of four. | |

| Oh wow...Thank you, I never noticed that...All fixed, though. I was so fixated on that backstory and giving him my own twist, sentence counts went straight out of my mind. | |

| Phoebe Noel||Nimble Scout Age/Birthday:Fourteen, September 20th. Gender:Female. God Parent:Apollo. Claimed:Phoebe had been claimed by her father the first campfire she attended, though a shocker it was. It was the first time she ever was given full evidence who her father really was. She felt as if her whole life was a lie, and that the only person left that she was related to had never even been a part of it. Mortal Family:Her mother, Juliet Noel and her step father Brandon Noel. Years in Camp:She’s only been around for a three months. Brief History:Apollo definitely made a bad choice with Phoebe’s mother. She wasn’t stable, at all, and she even cheated on her husband with Apollo just for Phoebe to be born. It didn’t take long for Brandon, her husband, to realize that. But one night when returning home to gather his things and leave, Juliet was holding a knife above Phoebe, about to kill her, thinking it would make Apollo come and pay attention to her. Brandon barely managed to stop Juliet and save the demigod’s life. It was clear to him, blood or not, he would have to watch over Phoebe because Juliet clearly wasn’t going to. As the years went by, the two heard nothing of Phoebe’s mother and the girl grew up believing Brandon was her father. He sent her to dozens of schools and after a few months, Phoebe was already kicked out, like many demigods. She didn’t seem to mind though, and her father did his best to support her. But it was always the same thing, one of the other girls in the school said something and Phoebe attacked them. If that’s all you were told, she’d be marked as a daughter of Ares. Truth be told, she was merely sensitive about her being. Brandon also taught Phoebe about Greek mythology on his own, something she enjoyed a lot. By the time she was fourteen, Brandon had no choice but to send her to a boarding school, and all-girls school at that. Phoebe hated being there, at least at first. It was in Maine and she hated the cold, always trying to find sunlight to stay warm. Phoebe liked the sun, it felt like it shown just for her sometimes. She couldn’t figure out how to describe that feeling. Eventually, she decided it was time to find something to do at the school; she hated all of her classes except Music and English. She decided to try out track and field and later basketball. She quickly became the best basketball player on her team, never missing a shot without even trying, but track and field took a bit more effort. Eventually, she got pretty good, but not the best. It interested her to try Parkour, and with her knew learned ability, she found quiet, special places on the campus all to herself. But like all good things, it didn’t last long. Near the end of the year, some girl named Heather popped up out of nowhere. Phoebe thought she was new, but everyone acted like she was there the whole year, maybe longer. There were even stories of Heather and Phoebe from early in the year. It made Phoebe feel like she was going insane. She didn’t like the girl either, she was like a real life version of Ms. Marie Sunshine, always happy and polite and giddy. Phoebe tried to avoid Heather has much as possible but as the year progressed, that became increasingly difficult. Then the last day of school came and this marked the day Phoebe’s life fell apart. It was all planned to be perfect, her father picking her up and taking her to New York. She always wanted to see New York, but they lived so far away in Virginia. But recently her father moved to Maine near the boarding school and he was going to drive them to New York, everything would be perfect. But throughout this last day, Heather seemed more determined than ever to get Phoebe’s attention, and as the day drew on, Heather’s nice act began to fade. Phoebe was desperately trying to get away and she thought she almost had as she got to the parking lot and headed for her dad’s car. But Heather just snapped, and charged after Phoebe, swiping at her with her nails, which soon formed into Talons. Feathers began to grow from Heather’s arms and her body became more of a humanoid bird. Phoebe tried with all her will to avoid the swipes, but one slash caused a huge rip in her abdomen. It wasn’t long until Brandon came to his daughter’s rescue, stabbing the Harpy in the back with a bronze knife. As the bird-like woman dissipated into gold dust, Phoebe began to black out. The last thing she could recall was seeing her father in a blurry haze, and then was seemed to be her track and field coach, taking his hat off to reveal horns.
She awoke several hours later in the medical room of the big house. A Satyr who looked strangely like her coach loomed over her and fed her some Ambrosia, which tasted like macaroni with cheese flavored curry. She slowly sat up before her abdomen hurt like nothing she ever experienced. It took her quite a few days to heal from the gash, but in the time she had plenty of chances to read her father’s letters, or at least her step-father. He just watched over her while her mother was unstable, and her real father was somewhere else. She didn’t know what to think of this, and she did her best to believe it wasn’t true but eventually she attended her first campfire and that was when she was claimed, given all the evidence needed for her to know the only family she had left was never part of her life to begin with. At camp, Phoebe barely talked to anyone. She felt like her whole life was a lie and that she couldn’t trust anyone. She the only things she found pleasure in were Archery practice and anything that involved obstacle courses. She didn’t feel like she related to anyone, and she didn’t want to. She wanted her old life back, the one with her father and where the stories were just stories… Physical Appearance:Phoebe is somewhat short, but slim with long, strong legs. Her face was somewhat triangular, her jaw line slimming down to her chin. The bridge of her nose is straight, no curving outward or inward and is relatively small. Her skin is somewhat peruned with her hair as black as the night sky and shortened to fit her tastes, and eyes of a bright, warm color that one can’t place the name of. She prefers jeans over anything and would be more quick to pick a pair of pants over a pair of shorts. Personality:Phoebe’s personality is that of someone who would much rather just be alone. She’s an introvert, preferring her peace and quiet. She can be rude sometimes but unless someone is rude to her, she’ll try and be as nice as possible. She loves being out in the sun and loves to go running and climbing. Fatal Flaw:Phoebe’s fatal flaw is that she is highly untrusting of others. She is quick to judge people and the most common judgment is that they will stab her in the back the first chance they get. Talents:Phoebe is great as a scout, easily able to overcome obstacles of the terrain and finding cover, as well as trained well in throwing weapons and archery like many Apollo children. Weapons:Phoebe uses a bow for long range, which is where she prefers to be half the time, but in case something goes wrong, she is prepared with her combat knife. The knife is decorated with a black leather handle and a curve blade of bronze. The hand guard of this knife reflects a blazing sun. Year-Round or Summer:Year-Round. | |
