I walked through the lonely quiet forest at midnight, there was no light of any kind, I shiverd as the cool wind blew past me. I was here to explore but now I was utterly lost. It was dark and scarry, I had my dagger drawn just in case of monsters.

Mikayla was confidently walking through the forest, trying to be as careful as possible. She wore her baseball cap low over her face and her ponytail looped through the hole in the back. She loved this hat. She loved all hats. She stepped on a twig.

I was walking when I heard a twig snap, I quickly turned torawds the sound of the snap. I saw a figure standing there. I started shaking and started tearing up. "wh-whos th-there?" I asked with my dagger out.

"Calm down, kid," Mikayla replied. She tipped her baseball cap up so her face was visable. "Hi. What're you doing out here? It's dark and dangerous in here."

She eyed his dagger with caution. He was cute! Aw! Like a little brother... DON'T START!

"I kept my dagger out but calmed down a little, "I was exploring and now im lost." I said looking at her. "what are you doing out here?" I asked her the same question. "it is dark and dangerous," I said mocking her voice, but in a nice way.

"I'm older than you, kid," she said. "I can defend myself at a higher level. Anyway, want me to walk you back into camp? Or would you rather be left for the myrmekes?"

She pulled a scary face at the mention of the giant, metal-loving ants that lived int he forest. The ants were as big as a car and ate anything shiny. Which meant that dagger of his could attract them.

"can you walk me back to camp please?" "its dark and scary," I said putting my dagger away and hugging her leg as I heard a bush rustle, but it was only the wind.

"Sure, kid. What's your name?" Mikayla asked, not noticing the russle. Although she did feel uneasy. She looked around with an expression that didn't show how worried she was.

"my name is timmy, son of Aphrodite" i said looking at her, "who are you?" I asked looking around then looking back at her. "Im 4" I said holding up 4 fingers. "how old are you?" I asked putting my fingers down?

"My name is Mikayla and I'm a daughter of Eris. I'm fourteen. I'm ten eyars older than you, Timmy," Mikayla said, smiling at the four year old. Little kids have to be so cute, don't they? She heard the rustle again. It was further away. And it sounded different. Her acute senses picked that up.

I hugged her leg tighter as I heard the bush rustle harder and louder. I began to shake from being scared. "whos there?" I called out stil shaking.

"Not who," Mikayla said. "What."

She searched the forest with her eyes and listened as the rustle continued. She protectively put a hand on Timmy's shoulder. She tried to hear something along the lines of footsteps... Or scuttling... Or just something that would give away what was making the noise.

I leaned on to her lightly, still very scared, "wh-whats th-there?" I asked correcting my self from earlier. I could feel my body pass its scared limits and I was shaking uncotrolably. I stayed holding onto her, but grabbing her arm instead.

"Hey, hey. It's okay," Mikayla said. "You look strong to me. You could probably take it on. Whatever it is. It's probably just... Something."

She didn't know. The rustling ceased. She didn't allow herself to relax, closing her eyes to listen harder.

I stopped shaking a little but was still scared. I desided to toughen up a bit and let go of her arm and pulled out my dagger. I slowly approached the bush and opend it up. what I saw inside was nothing. "theres nothing here. I said turning torawds her.

Something roared behind Mikayla and made her turn around. "What?!" she had to cover her ears becasue of her acute hearing. She grit her teeth and looked. "Myrmeke!"

I jumped as I heard a roar and I could fell my pants dampen around the crouch area. "what is that?" I asked turning around and looking at her.

"That's... A giant... Ant," she said through gritted teeth. She was in pain. It hurt her ears! it hurt! "Hide the metal! That's what it wants!"

I quickly put my dagger away and pulled out my shock pen, I quickly stuck it to the ant to see what the outcome would be.

OOC: it shocks stuff, if its human, it knocks them out, if its metal it explodes

The ant fried and screeched.

"ARGH!" Mikayla yelled in pain.

Now that's a cool four year old, Mikayla thought. She then thought, PAINFUL!

The ant was knocked out.

I put the pen away and looked down at my damp pants. my face turned a tomatoe red but I ignored it. "are you ok?" I asked walking over to her.

Mikayla was gasping for breath. She looked at Timmy. "You gotta be the coolest lil kid I've yet to see," she said to him. "I'm fine. Acute senses mean I can get hurt in little ways you can't really."

She stood up straight. "Well done, kiddo. Let's get back to camp before anything else attacks."

"ok." I said grabbing ont her arm, "I kind of had an accsident," I said as my face turned tomatoe red. I looked down to see it drying up a little so I became a little bit less embarrased.
