I walked into the Pegasus stables. I was followed by Sundancer. I had rasied the filly from her birth, only a year ago. And all that time she had hidden her wings from me. Sundancer lifted her head, prancing around, smelling the horses. Then something surprising happened.
As I touched her mane, it caught on fire. Mane, tail, and forelock- a bright golden color. Sundancer pranced along, unfolding her wings- which caught on fire too. The otehr pegasi watched intently at the strange new pegasi.
I jumped on the filly. Though she was young, she had keen intellegence.
We took off in the air, currents of it thundering past us. Sundancer flew around. Every where she went left a small flame. Suddenly a wall of mist was beside me. I stretched my hand out, touching the cloud. We flew around in the air until I felt something beside me. A bird, its wings stretched beside it, was soaring with me!
'I can't believe it! I wish Leander had wings.' I took pity on Leander. He was a tiny red-golden lion cub that followed me like a dog. He had an amazing jumping ability. He could leap in the air onto my shoulders, gribbing on and making cute little lion-cub sounds.
I wondered if people would find him startling or cute. I had put his black crate on my bunk, putting his large food and water bowls inside, too. His crate was the black metal kind, and was big enough for a full-grown lion. Luckily, he wasn't that big. Yet.
Sundancer flew over to the stables once more. I found her an empty stall, and placed her inside. I gave her hay, oats, and kissed her velvety muzzle. I then walked out to give myself a tour.
