| Cannibal Corpse is the highest selling Metal band in America. They often have extremely graphic and brutal song lyrics that are sung in harsh growled tones. Slayer, on the other hand, is a different metal band that is from the Bay Area in California. They are also known for their graphic and brutal songs (though not as vulgar as Cannibal Corpse) that are played way faster and sung in a shouted voice. Slayer is actually counted as being one of the four founding bands of Thrash Metal, a subgenre of Heavy metal known for it's emphasizing on fast, loud playing and generally anarchic or even satanic themes.
