"I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me I remembered each flash, as time began to blur Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve" Let's say you entered the Armory. Let's say you walked out because of the loud music. Now that is the work of Baylee McCarnille. Blasting loud Green Day music in the near empty armory, the brown haired beauty had several streals of black grease on her face. One under her eye (covering up her recent scar she got from fighting with Liliana), and another one on her left cheek. In her hand was one of her old daggers, and a few others that she kept as antiques. Right next to her was a can of polish she used for shining her blades up, and maybe trying it out on her nails.
Hearing the door slam shut and some heavy footsteps, Baylee turned down her music, so she could hear. Her hearing was relatively bad (don't ask her, she is oddly sensitive about that), so she strained to listen. As she took a glance, all she saw was a black apron. Hepheastus camper, no doubt. "Hello? Do you mind if I play music.... Rather loudly?" Baylee stammered, pulling the shoulder of her (rather tight) Hollister tank top up, Baylee looked up at the person.
To her suprise, it was a Hepheastus camper. The co-cabin leader, she guessed. Figuring to herself that it was no question that he was here. Probably looking to fix something. "Oh, Hi Andrew."
"So give me reason to prove me wrong, to wash this memory clean Let the floods cross the distance in your eyes Give me reason to fill this hole, connect the space between Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies across this new divide Across this new divide, across this new divide."

| HYRULEAN . . . . . . I passed the sign proclaiming the fact that I was now entering the Armory. Good. Going exactly according to plan, ehehehehe- which wasn't much considering the plan consisted of: 1. Go to Armory to help out anyone. 2. You won! Oh, my sarcastic humor was wasted on internal conversations. As the newly chosen co-cabin leader of the Hephaestus cabin, I felt like that helping someone with a generically Hephaestus-suited task was more important than socialization.
With my modified, noise-cancelling and surround sound Vertex headphones, I listened to the clear audio of the Fort Minor song reverberating in my skull. You see, oh mysterious person who I feel lives in my head and demands an explanation for everything, I learned that electricity in portable electronics isn't good for the demigod that I am. So therefore, using my usually metallurgic thermal conduction crap powers, the circuitry of the headset actually drew power from the heat in my head, thus cooling my head from excess heat while giving me the best audio possible from my songs.
Well, armed with that explanation, you would realize why, when I walked into the Armory, my head suddenly went ice-cold as the circuit drew most of the heat in my head for a power boost to counteract the loud music banging in the Armory. Dammit! I swore in my head as I slid the neon green headphones behind my head and onto my neck.
Looking at the girl who was the owner of the what-ever-or-not blasting Green Day into the otherwise tranquil air of the Armory, I regarded her with disdain. The dull roaring in my head faded to a light whine. Normally, it wouldn't bother me with loud noises, being the Heppy kid around a lot of loud machinery, but the fact that it had caught me off guard with my headphones on annoyed me.
"Yes, that would be me." I stated, colder than I thought it would come out as. "Is there anything you might need?" My tone was warmer, but not by that much of a difference.

"I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me I remembered each flash, as time began to blur Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve" Whipping my head around, my eyes shifted toward his portable electronic device. I looked at him up and down, raising an eyebrow. He had electricity. And not the kind that smelled like motor oil. The fresh, crisp one. My deep brown eyes stared at his for a moment, and I stood up, my dagger sitting on the table. "Um, no. Not right now." My eyes were still glued to his device. I put my hand over the other, trying to hide the tattoo of birds on my hand I got from getting too hung over last night. He had electricity on him. Electricity. I took a deep breath, and adverted my eyes from his hand to the big bulky machine behind him. "I'm sorry, but mind if I see that device for a moment? I just need to... um... See it?" I utter, grabbing it out of his hands (not too roughtly, but firmly) and closed my eyes. Crisp and relatively fresh.
I could tell that device was fairly new, because of the scent. It smelled like steel, and ran through my body like it wanted to be. Electricty ran up my arm and down my legs, and began to linger in my hair. It created little sparkles in the luscious brown locks. Sighing, I gave it back to Andrew. "Uh, sorry." I uttered, looking at my tattoo. The birds seemed to be flying around, a possible effect of the electricity running through my body. I nodded at him, and sat back down on my stool. The CD was turned off, and it was dead silent in the Armory except for the sweet hum of the electric motors and such around the room. My dagger had slight ripples of electricity running through its metal, and I began to continue polishing it.

| HYRULEAN . . . . . . I took the 'device' back rather forcefully from her hands. She seemed weird. Quirky, even. Looking at her wickedly sharp weapon, I saw the sparks jump from side to side, and I was entranced for the slightest of moments. "Charged weapon or child of Zeus? Pretty cool." I was just being nice here, but still guarded. Something about her seemed rather off. Regarding her with my two observant eyes, I looked her up and down. She was attractive, yes, but- dammit, Andrew, you're in a relationship, you're not allowed this kind of thinking any more, are you?
The silence seemed rather disarming for the second, and I broke it again. Scratching the back of my neck awkwardly, I broke out, my voice penetrating the ambient air, "Well, my name's Andrew, I'm fifteen, and I'm the co-cabin leader of Hephaestus." I sniffed the air. "You seem to know a bit about me."

"I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me I remembered each flash, as time began to blur Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve" Without looking up, I said that I was a Child of Zeus, however a charged weapon seemed pretty cool. Charged weapons wouldn't mix well. Blood+Electricity? Not a good smell (my cabin mates would hate me)! I didn't think about introducing myself until I could see my reflection in the steel of the blade. After blowing off the sawdust that landed on the metal, I turned around in my stool. "I'm Baylee. McCarnille, ever heard of me? Sixteen years old, Best friends with the cabin leader of Zeus's mom?" I said, scratching a scab I had on my neck (from my friend who didn't care if he cut me). I quickly wiped off the sparks from my hair and shook them onto the floor, then stepping on them. It made a quiet crack, and I looked back up at him.
It was rather dark outside, and I heard loud booms. Why were there fireworks? I could smell them too. Not the kind I smell electricity, but I could literally smell the smoke from the fireworks. I stood up and listened for it. "You hear fireworks?" I asked Andrew, gazing out the window next to me. Sure enough, there were colorful explosions in the sky. Either there was a Cabin Leaders birthday, or the Hermes kids went Off Campus again.

| I sniffed the air. Yeah, the smell of something like cordite or some kind of propellant. "What's going on out there?" I shoved my headphones into my backpack and loosened my swords in their sheaths. Didn't hurt to be prepared, right? Averting my eyes from the rather strange girl in front of me, I looked out the window, and there it was. Fireworks! "Come on, let's go check it out?"Just when I took my first purposeful step towards the door, waiting on Baylee to follow, I realized that I had not answered her question. I had actually heard of her name a couple times, but I didn't really know her at all. Should I try to befriend her? She was kinda weird, and I already had a preference for not talking to girls, because I stumbled over everything I said. Well, I guess you gotta shrug it off, Andy. You're a cabin leader now, you have responsibilities. Besides, you have a girlfriend! What's to be awkward about? ANDREW NOVEMBER HYRULEAN . . . . . . | |

"I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me I remembered each flash, as time began to blur Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve" Glad I wasn't hearing something, I pressed my lips together and stood up. Of course, I didn't want to seem like the odd girl who sits by herself at lunch. Most people percieved me as that. If I don't like them, I try and just be strange. On purpose, yes. This guy was interesting. Hepheastus, rather handsome? Zan was the only one who I could talk to, and we both were pretty messed up. I sighed and walked outside. Colorful flowers exploded into the air. The sound they made was wonderful, rising and falling. "Where do you think they're being set off at?" I ask him, looking toward his direction.
The lake wasn't too far away, yet it was through the forest. Anybody sane wouldn't dare go into the forest at night. but who cared? I had my backpack with me. I keep every single one of my knives in there. I have throwing knives, stars, stabbing knives, display knives, cutting knives, butter knives. I looked at him, then at the forest. Who am I to call myself sane? "I think they're being shot from the lake."

| Cocking my head, I replied certainly, "Yeah, me too. Hey, you sure you wanna go all the way over there? I mean, if you wanna check it out, u-uh, I'll come with you. But don't you have any thing- umm, Hephaestus-like you want me to do for you? I m-mean... I just got elected cabin co-leader, and I want to just practice my skills so I can train new Hephaestus campers. Y-yeah." I blushed, embarrassed, and looked away.
To be honest, I wasn't the biggest fan of the dark. I always liked knowing where I stood, and to know where the enemies came from. When I fought, I didn't follow all that 'stick to the shadows' kinda thing. I just went out in the open and challenged people, I was kinda tall to be sneaky and all that. At night, I usually just carried magnesium metal that burned white hot when I threw a bit of energy in it, kind of a low-tech flashlight. Not that I would ever admit these things to anyone. Best to appear to have no weaknesses, and regret it later than now. But darkness brought out things in my memory I would rather stay hidden. In the shadows, if you will.ANDREW NOVEMBER HYRULEAN . . . . . .

"I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me I remembered each flash, as time began to blur Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve" I suppose I did have something. Perhaps make a flashlight if my electricity runs out. It was pretty dark out, but who couldn't find their way from the sound? After all, the fireworks were pretty loud. "Make a flashlight, or something full of electricity. If we're going out there we need light." I gazed off into the distance, then into the sky. Rubbing the back of my neck, I spun around on my heels and looked at Andrew in the face. I studied his expression carefully (okay, well maybe it looked like that) and looked away for a bit. I couldn't read auras or anything, but something about him just make me nervous. Perhaps it was his eyes? Eyes are the window to the soul, aren't they?
"You're not scared, are you? I'm here, Y'Know. Gimme more electricity and I'll become a human bug lamp." I said, my southern accent popping in every few words. The natural tingle I got from anything electric started to fade and I sighed. I put my hand on his arm and closed my eyes. Should I tell him this, or not?

I smiled wryly at the girl, Baylee. She had this... whole randomness thing going for her. And it didn't make me wary, like with others.
"Scared? Me? N-no." I shuddered and grinned as my voice cracked halfway through the sentence, while inwardly cringing. She seemed ready to interject, but before she was probably going to have a good laugh at my expense, I cut in, my voice breaking in louder than I had anticipated, "BUG LAMP! UM... ABOUT THAT FLASHLIGHT!" I had no idea what I was vocalizing so loudly about, but anything to avoid taking about a past or about myself. Heck, I would be just as clueless as she was about those things.
Already, my high-performance brain was being motivated into split ADHD mode, where I felt I was still participating... kinda? in the current conversation but half my brain was already gathering up a list of all the materials I would need to build a flashlight. Maybe a metallic heat-to-electricity dynamo for the girl? So many opportunities. I glanced briefly at Baylee before chuckling, nervously scratching the back of my neck with a free hand.
Then my eyes swept lightly over nearby objects, and piles of discarded scrap. Already I saw a high-lumen output diode. Batteries? Check, lower workbench, cabinet. Prefabricated metal tubing? Check, pile of scrap right behind Baylee...
It was funny because all this happened rather instantaneously while I explain it rather slow. Go hyperactivity!

"I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me I remembered each flash, as time began to blur Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve" My eyes slowly adverted toward Andrew. He was scared? The stutter in his voice was a pretty obvoius sign of nervousness. Hiding a twisted smile, I told him to screw the flashlight. You can't get over fears without confronting them. A firework shot up into the air, and made a loud boom. I grabbed his hand (quite ferociouisly) and yanked him out of the workshop. I ran into the forest, with his hand in mine.. The slight glow from the electricity I contained gave enough light, to prevent any night lurking monsters to attack. However, bugs surrounded us. "Bug lamp? What about it?" I groaned a bit. Wow, he was slow. I rolled my eyes and continued into the forest.
The trees were pretty dense. I couldn't see the sky, and the sound of the fireworks were muffled. Stopping abruptly, I gazed at him. Where were we? The fireworks could be anywhere. And the only sense of direction that Zeus kids have are south, and up. The wind always blows south before a storm, and I was too distracted to notice it. It was nearly pitch black, and my glow was fading. Oh Gods, what did I do? Dragging him into a forest with nothing but a Zeus kid for light?

"Whooaaa!" She yanked me towards the exit, and then out of the workshop. As I was forcibly yanked towards the exit by this deceivingly strong girl, I flashed a hand out and grabbed my backpack. Even if she was dragging me into the forest alone together and in the dark, it would be nice to have all my paranoid tools with me. Oh god, the forest. That was exactly where we were now.
The bugs were thick in the air, so if I were to clap randomly, I'd kill like seven. Well, wasn't it fortunate that bugs generally avoided me because apparently my blood tastes like molten metal to a bug or something. Obviously, I don't really know this, because I don't have bug-feelers and the lot. But yeah- damn, I'm rambling in my head again! This was still scary though. It wasn't really the things out here that scared me, it was what could be out here. But what could go wrong, right? Some kind of spontaneous super-powered girl, and a guy with metal heat powers. Oh, too bad there's no metal in a FRICKIN' FOREST.
Oh man, I hope this Baylee didn't get us killed. Her... electric... light? was slowly fading, maybe she was running out of juice. Uh-oh. I don't think there was some kind of glowing thing in my pack except for an SOS strobe and my smartphone, and the lake was still a looong way off...

"I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me I remembered each flash, as time began to blur Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve" Looking at him blankly, I patted my pockets. Dammit, why didn't I take my phone with me? Looking away, I swatted at a bug, and sighed. We were going to die out here. At least I thought we were. Sitting down, I held a straight face for as long as I could. What should I do now? The lake was about a mile away, I was wearing flats, and we had no light. "Do you have any electronics on you?" I asked Andrew, trying to sense any electronics on him. "You reek of metal and oil, I can't sense any on you." Unless some Satyr helps us out anytime soon, we aren't going anywhere. Let's see, what else did I have on me? I searched through my pockets of my leather jacket, and jeans. I had a paperclip, a slip of paper that was far too wrinkled to read, and I had a miniature red Sharpie. Eh, nothing useful. Leaning back on my arms, I tilted my head back and sighed. Closing my eyes a bit, I felt exhausted. The less electricity I have in me, the more touchy-feely I get. Not to mention sensitive, and tired.
