PostSubject: Jake's Entrance.   Jake's Entrance. I_icon_minitimeWed Dec 14, 2011 5:18 pm

Jake got lazily out of his mother's Lexus. "Hey, mom, why are you dumping me here? This isn't the apartment." He called back to her. He didn't hear an answer.
Whipping around, he saw that his mother was gone. "Great. Just great! She dumped me in the middle of nowhere!" He thought angrily.
He turned to face the hill again. A bit farther away was a tree, a pine tree. It looked taller than the others, and had thicker clumps of needles. "Well, I guess I can stay there the night." Jake said to himself as he slung his backpack over his shoulder.
When Jake reached the tree, he dumped his backpack on the ground. He sat down next to it, and leaned back, closing his eyes. He'd decide where he was going to go later. For now, he could rest.

Tony was confused after the last scene of what had just happened. He was walking around, confused as hell when he saw the kid at the top of the hill. When the kid sat down to rest, he looked confident, cocky, even. So Tony thought he would be a good person to ask.

He climbed the hill (which was hard because of his shin splints) and got to the top of the hill, panting slightly. He taped the boy on the shoulder asking, "Hey, I'm new here, where do I go?"

Jake snapped open his eyes to see someone in front of him. Jake's cold eyes surveyed him. He was panting, and had what looked like splints on his legs.
"New where!?" Jake asked warily, his frown faltering only for a moment. "I have no idea what you're talking about. My...mom, I guess you could call her, dumped me here."
Jake looked away for a moment. "I'm as lost as you are, assuming you're lost." He said, turning his cold eyes back to the person.

"I am kind of," said Tony in reply, "Last guy I talked to, he told me the basics. Although, it was a bit hard to swallow."

"This is Camp Half-Blood, a camp made for Demi-Gods. People who's mother or father is a god or goddess from Greek Mythology, which by the way, isn't Mythology apparently. That's about all I got so far. But other than that, just as lost as you."

He figured it would take a bit for the kid to digest the news that his Father or Mother was potentially a God, so he gave it a sec. He took a second to look over the 'Camp.' It looked pretty massive, and small houses in the distance. He saw a huge red house, and figured it must be the head place.

He extended his hand, in a gesture to help the kid up, "How bout we check out that huge red house down there?"

Jake let what the stranger told him sink in for a moment. He had already known what he was, what his father was...But, he hadn't known there was a place for them.
He narrowed his eyes at the person's extended hand, before taking it and allowing himself to be helped up.
"Sure." He replied. "I don't have anywhere else to go."

(~Sorry about the late reply, my internet was acting up again.~)

Tony lifted the kid, and they walked down the hill together. "By the way," started Tony, "I never did catch you name?" It was true, whatever his name was, he seemed like he was going to be a descent friend. Maybe he would help find Errick eventually, that was something he was going to need help on.

(No big deal, this will probably be my last post tonight, gotta go to bed soon, final exams tomorrow.)

Jake looked at the person again. "I'm Jake, Jake Reise." He said. What's your name?" He asked him, his question coming out more like a sigh. Maybe this place would be better than his apartment, maybe. He'd need to see how things went first of course.

(Cool, good luck on exams. ^^)

As they grew nearer to the big house, Tony replied, "Tony, Tony Tabs." and shook his hand. This wasn't going to be the best place to be, he knew. The best place to be was with Errick, and Errick was... well, only gods and a horse know where.

(Okay, this is definitely my last post LOL.)

Jake shook Tony's hand. They would soon be at the large building.
A jolt went through him. He had never been here before, and who knew what kind of people were here...He silently pushed away his nerves. He'd been through lots, and he was sure he could handle anything that came his way. Still, (he would never admit it) but he was glad Tony had come with him.

They walked up to the house. Tony was a bit hesitant to, but knocked on the door. A man in a wheelchair answered. "Ah, Tony," the man started "I've been meaning to check on you. And you, your mother called before hand, you must have just gotten here." He said, addressing Jake. Tony had no idea who this man was.

Jake widended his eyes slightly in shock. "My-My mother...called? She didn't just...dump me?" He asked in surprise. He had thought his mother had just done as she said she always wanted to, leave him somwhere to die.
"But maybe she did care about me..." Jake thought to himself. He instantly pushed it away. His mother, care about him? After all she'd done? No...she must have been required or something.
Jake was sure of it now. It must have been required that she called the camp. It was the only plausible answer.

"Of course not, no kids have been dumped here unless their parents were dead, or they were. I prefer it the first way, but you don't really get to pick..." said the Man with a sigh. Tony brought up the obvious question first. "I'm sorry, but who are you?"

"Oh right, you must not recognize me, hang on." He said, pulling the chair out from under him, revealing a long body, and four skinny, but very muscular, legs. Now I'm being descreat when I say this, but I 'bout s*** my pants.

"Uhh..." I started, and then it hit me, HE was the horse. "I am Chiron," He started, "The Camp Director at CampHalfBlood. Yes I know where Errick is, yes he agreed to put you here, and No, I can't let you leave."

Jake stared at the Centaur in front of him. Had he read Jake's mind? Or his emotions...or...something like that?
He shook away those thoughts and opened his mouth to speak, before thinking better of it. Instead, he asked a question. "Where will I stay?"
Jake then looked at Tony. Questions were racing through his mind. Who was Errik? Why had the man...horse...Centaur...tell Tony he knew where he was? He decided he would ask later, if at all. It wasn't his buisness.
Jake looked to the ground, his natural frown appearing on his face. "There. Emotions in check. Just like always." He thought to himself.

I was startled. It seemed for a second that only Chiron and I were existing.

Chiron seemed as though he were startled too and then answered, "*Cough* Oh yes. Well, I assume you guys are brought up on the details of where you are and why you're here. So until you are 'claimed' you will be staying in Cabin 11: Hermes Cabin." Chiron pointed towards a worn down building that actually looked like a cabin, "That one" he said.

I wanted to ask more but before I could, Chiron said, "See you at dinner," and left, as though it were perfectly normal for a half-man to be running a summer camp in the winter for children of Half-Gods.

Tony wanted to scream at the top of his lungs. He wanted to run after the horse and punch him in his face, but that would not help find Errick. Instead he looked at Jake and said, "Well, where to now?"

Jake looked quickly at Tony before he spoke. "Well, I guess we go to Cabin Eleven." He muttered.
"Even though I already know who my dad is..." He whispered too quietly for Tony to hear.
He shivered violently in the cold winter air. He looked back at Tony. "Well...we'd better go." He said, his teeth chattering.

"Actually, if you don't mind Jake," Tony started, "I think I'm gonna head to the library. Do some research on this." And by 'This' Tony meant the fact that his Dad or Mom was a God in the sky watching over him right now. He think it might be awkward to meet him/her, considering until today he was Atheist.

"Sure," said Tony. He hadn't thought to invite Jake, it wasn't very often that anyone wanted to go to a library, especially with Tony. "I just want to brush up on Greek stuff, try to find who my parent is before he/she does."

"Err...Yeah, so do I. Before he...I mean...he or she claims you...I mean...us..." He stammered out. Gods he stunk at lying. He hadn't ever needed to before... He stared awkwardly at his feet, shivering violently from the cold. He really needed a new jacket.

Tony had heard him before, when he had said he already knew. And even if he hadn't, this would've given him away. He stared at him blankly for a second, then smiled. "One, if you're ever gonna make it in this world, you're gonna have to learn to lie better than that." said Tony, stifling a laugh on the last word.

"And two, I already heard you back there. Why is it such a big deal that you know already?" Tony wished he knew where Errick was, but since that wasn't an option, his God of a father or Goddess of a Mother would be second best.

"It's not." Jake said shrugging. "I..I guess i've never been open about myself..." Jake looked back at Tony and shivered again. "With my mom, it was. say something about you, and get beaten. Say something about dad, and i'll rip your throat out." He said finally."Shall we go? It's a bit cold out here."

Tony felt sorry for Jake, he had never had to deal with anything like that. Errick had raised him as his son, even though they were brothers. Errick said Mom was awesome, but she died and we ended up in orphanage together. Plenty of people wanted to adopt me but I wanted to stay with Errick. I was 2 when that happened.

"Uh, yeah sure." They started walking towards the library, Tony was planing on studying up on the gods, but he also wanted to read fiction for fun. It calmed him.

Jake trudged after Tony towards the library. He looked at his feet as he walked.
He sighed. He looked up from his feet to the buildings farther away. He saw people playing in the snow.
They looked happy. Jake envied them. Why couldn't he be happy too? He was finally rid of his tormentors, and he had managed to make a friend, so, why did he feel so down? "Habit probably.." he thought glumly.

Tony pushed open the doors of the giant grey building. The inside was as though the gods themselves had built the library (in retrospect, the probably did.) Rows upon rows of an infinite amount of books and multiple levels. Tables sat near the front, although no one was in them.

"Holy s***." said Tony, surprised that he had found heaven on earth. He realized how un-cool it was to 'nerd-out' over a library, so he caught himself. "I mean, uh... this is cool, i guess."

Jake almost didn't hear Tony. He was too busy looking at the rows and rows of books. He had never seen so many books in his life.
He nodded at Tony's remark. "Yeah." He said absentmindedly.
