I put my sword down and smiled. My cheeks were red and my hair was a bit wild but I felt more proud of myself than any time I had looked absolutely perfect.

"Um..I'm not completely sure. I just kind of did it. Beginner's luck, right?" I asked him. I was impressed that I had made him surrender. I didn't think I would ever in a million years be able to do that.

"Was that good then?" I asked him curiously.

I bent down to pick up my sword and chuckled. I didn't believe in beginner's luck. After training here, I noticed you either had it, or you didn't.

"Yeah, it was pretty good! Want to go again?" I asked, standing ready with my sword. I didn't tell her, but this time I was going to be a little bit harder, disarming her now and then.

"Well, ok but don't go so easy on me," I told him. I had a feeling he could have blocked it somehow and just didn't to make me feel better.

I took a few paces back and stepped forward with my right and lunged. I couldn't think of another way to start. So I just stuck to the basics. If he knocked me to the right I could attack from there. If I ended up on the ground...well, I could probably think of something or another. Or just not think, that seemed to work rather well for me.

As she lunged, I whacked her sword away, ducked, and then took a step forward, shoving her a couple feet away. That would have been a devastating move if I had a shield, but we had left those on the wracks for now. I waited for her to fall, or stagger backwards, hoping I hadn't hurt her too bad.

I stepped backwards as he shoved me, avoiding too much damage. Setting my jaw, I stepped to the left and lunged at him again. My blade cut up. It was weak, I knew it. It would seem my beginner's luck had run out already. What a shame...I was really enjoying it.

I quickly set my sword in her sword's path, blocking it. I stepped down on it, making it clatter to the ground out of her hand. I shouldered her so that she stumbled back again, weaponless this time. I had disarmed her. Basic, and the most deadly.

I stumbled back a couple steps before regaining my balance. I frowned and huffed. "I have absolutely no hope of ever getting this!" I muttered.

He was so good at this. Powerful and deadly...and beautiful. I was absolutely distracted now. His eyes had a sparkle to them, the way mine always did when I was riding horses or practicing my archery.

I flipped my sword in my fingers. "No, you are good," I told her, shaking my head. "Maybe I just started too hard. Anyhow, would you like to stop for today or keep going?" I asked, noticing beads of sweat forming on her forehead. I could withstand great temperatures, so I rarely sweated outside of the Armory. In fact, I felt a nice breeze on my back. I ran a hand through my hair, setting the tip of my sword on the ground and leaning on it like it was a cane. Then my mind wandered back to whether her sword was too heavy, or if she used the key yet.

"Really? You think I'm good? Thanks!" I said as a smile broke over my face. I was certainly smiling a lot today. "I guess I should probably stop for today," I decided after a moment.

I realized I had started to sweat a bit and turned even redder. I wiped my forehead with my hand and laughed, imagining what my sibling would think if they saw me right now. "I think my siblings and my mother would totally be ashamed to admit they are related to me if any of them saw me right now."

I waved my hand in dismissal. "Don't worry," I told her. "They don't know what they're talking about," I chuckled. Most Aphrodite campers were really weird. Like, they would brush a Pegasus, then take a shower and go to bed for the day.

I shook my head with a laugh. That made me feel better, that he didn't really care. "Yeah, it's kind of odd. I really do not fit in with them...I don't know which is better. Being me or fitting in with my family," I thought out loud not realizing the words had left my head. I touched the face on the hilt of my sword and I was holding a key again.

I looked down at the ground. I had seen some Aphrodite campers, and trust me she fit in. I blushed just thinking about it, but I looked up quickly. "So, uh..." I said, scratching the back of my head. "I guess that's all for today," I said, putting my sword back on the wrack.

"Um..yeah. That's it. I guess I'll see you..." I hesitated trying to think of an excuse to see him some other time. I couldn't think of anything though. "I guess I'll see you around," I finished lamely.

Shoving the key in my pocket I started to walk towards the gate. I was so stupid! 'I'll just see you around'? What was that? I was supposed to be the daughter of love and beauty. I should be good at this! I couldn't even carry a conversation without looking stupid. I am normally s good with this.

I waved, watching her leave, standing there like an idiot. I rubbed the upper part of my arm, and looked at the ground for a while before heaving a big sigh, and walking toward the armory.I didn't have business to do there, but that's where I went in my free time. It wasn't much of an excuse to get away from the noise, but it was okay.

I wandered around for a few minutes before ending up back at the stables. I found the Pegasus we had ridden and leaned against the stall. I had absolutely nothing to do.

Other campers had a trade they excelled in, like Kyle and the forge or the Ares kids and the arena. The Aphrodite kids didn't really have anything. We were just beautiful and not even that beautiful, mostly just incredibly vain. Besides that, we were pretty much useless.
