Stupid book

I looked around, my gray eyes scanning the common area. People seemed to be flirting, fighting, or just talking. Seemed like a waste of time to me. I sat down on a stone bench with magnificent Greek carvings on it. I took out a book and began to scan the pages. It took me about 5 minutes per page, due to my dyslexia. The words mixed around the page, and I scowled, wishing that they could have translated this book into Greek. I closed the book in frustration.Come on Athena. Help me out.

Essie was walking in the courtyard when she noticed one kid actually dong something that made sense to her, reading. He shut his book in frustration. She walked over curiously, "What's up?" she asked, coming over to him. She wasn't this outgoing usually, but she needed something to do.

I looked up as a girl approached me from the Apollo cabin. I quickly looked her up and down before responding, trying to tell if this conversation was going to be worth my time. Then I sighed, and looked down at my book. "This book confuses me. I need it in Greek," I explained. "But I don't believe we have it."

Essie noticed the boy looking at her. She could easily leave if he would rather be bothered by another Athena camper. She sighed, "That sucks." she said, "I personally only read stuff in Greek, I don't even look at English written works any more." She shrugged and looked around, honestly, f this kid didn't want her around, all he had to do was say so.

I looked up, hopefully. If she had books in Greek, I wondered if it would be too much to ask if he could take a look at one. I knew it was quick, but I really needed a good read. "Err," I said, trying to gather my thoughts. "Mind if I borrow a book or two?" I asked, trying not to sound too pesky.

Essie smiled, "Sure." she got her current book that she was holding. "This is one of them, I've already read it a million times." she shrugged and gave it to him. "Just give it back when you're done." She sighed, so many people she knew weren't responsible enough to remember to give her the book back.

I smiled, and took the book, flipping through a few pages." Thanks," I said, standing up. "What's your name, so I can ask for you when I go to the Apollo cabin?" I asked, realizing the question was kind of stretched out.

Essie raised and eyebrow but shoko her questioning away, "Essie." she said simply. " doubt most people will know who I am though, so just like put it in a bag on the front porch or bring it to me during training." She shrugged, "You're who?" she asked, looking at him, "I still don't know your name."

I nodded. I knew I would finish it within hours. "I'm Rory," I introduced myself. I smiled. "Thanks for the book," I said, not sure what to do now.
