Life can be so cruel. And now the time has moved on,
I haven't seen her face in years. But, the things that she said are stuck in my head.
Now I'm walking through fire and fear. But, there's no telling what tomorrow brings.

Camile felt right at home on her gray stallion with his black mane. Beside her horse who she named Smokey was Beth. Slowly they rode along while she hummed. It had been years since she had gone horse back riding. The first time she had gone riding before she went to camp, was with her father's friend's son. Who she had a crush on ever since she was ten. Though the boy had only come to visit every summer before going back to the city. Something about the day before she had left was different, he kissed her.

Penny rode on the brown pegesus Penny named Klut. It was one of those pegesus in training. He got his name, because of how big of a klutz he was. At age twleve, Penny didn't find herself very creative. But for the past three years, Penny has ridden with Klut and many other pegesi that didn't ride very well. This one in particular was still a little hyper like a baby pegesus colt.
"Calm down, boy," Penny cooed as the pegesi bucked in the air. "C'mon. Let's land on the path." Not very gacefully, Klut dove to the path. Plus side? His landing was pretty good. Down side? Klut landed right in front of another girl and her horse. "Gods, watch it, boy," Penny said with a smile. The pegesus bobbed his head and made a noise that sounded like laighter, and in her head, she could hear his laughter.
"Hey," Penny said to the girl. "Sorry abput that."

Cami smiled and lightly patted Smokey's side. "It's alright, though you should probably be more careful with him. Riding around the girl she smiled. "I'm Camile. What's your name by the way?" She asked, her accent making some of her letters sound a bit off. Like normal she tucked her hair behind her ear and watched her.

Penny smiled and rolled her eyes. Klut nodded again and absentmindedly folled Camile and her smoky grey horse, tucking his wings in. He began to trot along side of Camile. Penny began to rub his neck. "I'm Penny," she tells the girl. Penny found it comforting to have someone along side of her as she rode for once. Often, Penny rode alone. "It's nice to see someone esle out here." It wasn't like no one did ride pegesi through the path, it was just that Penny was never riding at the same times as others. Schedules don't work out great a lot of times.

"Well, it's always nice to ride with a friend. I like you're name Penny." She smiled and lightly pet Smokey's side." So how long have you need in camp?" Her voice was still full of curiosity that had gotten her in trouble at a young age. The looked up at the sky and smiled. Before she glanced over her shoulder at the girl.

Penny smiled when Camile said she liked the name Penny. She was, at that point, trying to ignore the inevitable chantings of Klut asking for sugar cubes. "Thanks," she said to Camile. "I've been here for three years if that is what you mean. Nothing bad happened to me, my mom just figured I was 'too dangerous,' to stay at home. I kind of made a new crater in central park," Penny shook her head at the memory. "Anyway, how long have you been here?" Camile seemed familiar enough. Penny must have seen her around sometime. The camp just keeps growing.

"Just a couple of years. My father decided it was best to send me here... We lived in a small town and one bad monster could have destroyed it." Her gaze flickered to Penny once again." If you don't mind me asking, who is you're god parent?" She began to figure that it might have been Poseidon, though she wasn't sure.

Penny looked down to Klut's mane and ran her hands through the thick black hair. She wasn't real eager to tell Camile her godly parent. She never was, but she did anyway, as always. "My dad's Poseidon," she told her. "I'm probably guessing that you figured that out, but not everyone can--," She stopped short and threw her hands in the air. "Klut, stop now with the freaking sugar cubes! They're terrible for you anyway!" Penny pulled one out of her pocket none the less and leaned to Klut's nose. He turned his head and gobbled up the sugar cube. Penny picked up another one, "Want one, Smokey?" she asked Camile's horse. She had picked up the horse's name while listening to their thoughts.

"I thought that might be the case. My mother is Demeter." She smiled. Smokey who never turned down a treat gobbled up the sugar cube. When the girl yelled at the horse she couldn't help but let a giggle pass her lips. So it was funny, reaching into her bag she tossed Penny an apple before biting into one of her own. "This place tends to get a bit boring, don't you think?"

Penny nodded. "Thanks," she said and took a bite. "I guess it could be boreing, but it's peaceful. It has a feel to it that is just, nice. It's a good way to get away from training too." Klut began to get impatient. He wanted to start flying again. "Oh shush. Calm yourself, boy." Penny smiled and patted his side again slowly rubbing his muscles. Klut calmed a bit. "Of course, being with the pegesi and horses are my favorite part. It's nice that we have them here."

"I know what you mean. Only I feel that way about the strawberry fields also. I feel at home there." She laughed softly and watched the girl." Let me guess, he's bored with just talking about. You could go and take him for another ride in the sky. I'll wait." She smiled kindly while offering Smokey a bit of her apple.

Penny nodded and was about to say she'd be right back, but Klut had other ideas. He took a steady running start then lunged into the air. "You're such a show off," Penny muttered to him. Klut's strong wings beat strongly and happily, stumbling over nothing ever so often. "Keep it steady, boy," She soothed. Klut still continued to fly sloppily but he did better then he did normally. Penny could feel the wind beat from his strong wings from where she sat. It was enjoyable up in the sky. It was the only time she liked being off the ground: Only on a Pegesus.

Camile smiled while she watch Penny and Klut. Those to look so in sync that it was touching. Leading Smokey to the clearing she climbed off his back. Sitting down on a fallen stump she waited for the pair to return. She was happy to have made a new friend. Her mind was racing though she couldn't help but smile. Something about this place felt different but she wasn't sure what.

"C'mon," Penny said to Klut. "Steady landing this time." The pegesus just bucked in the air again and dove down to the clearing Camile and Smokey were at. Penny's eyes grew wide and Klut seemed to make a noise that sounded like laughter. He landed with a soft thud that almost sent Penny flying into a tree. 'See?' The horse said in her head. 'Stuck the landing!' Penny rolled her eyes.

Cami stifling a laugh she looked to the horse and winked. Giving a small applause she couldn't help but laugh about it. "Nice job. But anyway Penny are you alright?" Standing up she quickly walked over to her friend and helped her up. She hoped that she was fine. Reaching into her pocket she handed the girl a candy bar. Going back to the beach she sat down.

Penny smiled and took the candy bar gradually. "Thanks," she said. "I'm fine thanks," She said. Penny pointed a glare at Klut and he tried to look as innocent as any normal horse could get. Penny laughed lightly. Maybe Camile really was going to be a good friend. Penny definitly did not have many of those.

Camile smiled."Want to go to the forest later and explore?" She asked, her eyes sparkling while she patted Smokey's side. She was beyond happy to have a good friend right now. Once more she remounted Smokey and waited for Penny's answer.

Penny sighed in relief ever so slightly. She was happy that Camile did not pick the beach for a place to hang out. She liked it best to be away from water most of the time. Others she accepts the fact that the ocean represents dad, and so on and so forth. Penny nodded. "Yeah," she said. "The forest sounds great."

"Great. Let's head back and I'll meet you there." Smiling she turned Smokey around and headed back to the stable. She was fairly quick when she did it. Her eyes sparkled when she waved goodbye. Once she had Smokey all put away she quick ran down to the forest.
