Snow Fall in the Summer (Open)

Subject: Snow Fall in the Summer (Open) Tue Aug 09, 2011 10:33 pm

I sat alone in the woods on a large rock with my head to the sky and my hair falling down my back. My eyes were closed but I listened closly to everything. It took me only a few seconds though, to notice the snow falling. My eyes snappeed open and I looeked around. The snow was only falling ontop of me and on my rock. I smiled. It was snowing. Snowing! Snowing in the middle of Augest! It took me another few seconds to notice that it was me who was making the snow fall.

I was sitting on the ground, my back up to a tree, still taking it all in. It had just been yesterday that I had been claimed by my father, after a week being here. Suddenly, it started snowing. "Snow?" I whisper to myself. Snow, in August? I look around to see a girl. Perhaps she knew why it was snowing. I wasn't about ready to get up and ask her though.

I sat back with my back against the rock and in the snow facing the sky. I never knew I could do this. I laughed lightly. The best part? I didnt feel a thing. It wasn't any colder then it was before. Ha! That will come in handy! I can't get cold! I love you mom!

I looked at the girl a little more. She appeard to be looking at the sky. Maby she was the reason it was snowing. I stood up and brushed the snow off of my black hair and walked out into the open, summoning up all of my courage. "E-exuse me?"

I sat up quickly as someone else spoke. A girl stood in front of me. The snow stopped falling. "Uh, Yeah?" I asked a little nervous. I didn't know someone was watching me.

"I, I was wondering I-if you were the one who-who made it snow." I hated myself for not feeling cofortable with talking to other people.

"Yeah," I said. "Um, I think it's me. It kind of just started to snow in this one area. Cool huh?" I ran my hands through the light layer of snow on the ground.

"Y-yea...cool..." I look at the snow on the ground. There wasn't enough to have a snowball fight or anything. I could still see the grass poking through.

I bit my lip lightly. "I'm Alaska," I tell the girl. "Daughter of Khione. What brings you here?"

"Oh, I-I'm Kat, Kat Renolds. D-daughter of Erbos. I, I was just looking f-for someplace quiet." I looked down at the ground again. Alaska, she called herself. She probobly thought I was an idiot or something.

I raised an eyebrow at Kat. Now I knew ur Kats. "Are you okay?" I asked. "You don't have to be nervous. Its just me."

"I-it's nothing." Alaska seemed to be friendly enough...but, I didn't know her very well...in fact I barley knew anything about her at all.

"Are you sure?" I asked. "You not really sounding like everything is fine." I really didn't know what else to say to the girl. What was I supposed to say?

I really wanted to say that nothing was fine. I was just claimed the other day and now there was probobly a 0% chance that I wound find my mother. But, I didn't want to say that. If I did it would have felt like I was asking her to feel sorry for me. "I-I'm sure. I'm fine."

I looked at the girl oddly. I winder what she ha gone through. Mostly everyone here has gone through something terrible. I just ran away a couple of years ago, but that's nothing to what some of y friends have gone through. "So how long have you been here?"

(Don't worry, he is a god-greek names are confusing at times so it's hard to tell.)

"Erbos, god of shadows." I say. "I-it's nothing special. I c-can't really do much." It was true. Being a daughter of Erbos wasn't all that great. I mean, I could control shadows-but that compaired to being able to make it snow?

"W-what do you mean make anything out of that? I can make other things too-not just faces. I've tried m-making people before b-but it takes a lot of my energy, so I don't do it very often." I had tried several times sence I had gotten to camp half-blood to make a shadow of a person. They never exactly turned out very well though.
