| [1] Salvator Young- Spoiler:
Name: Salvator Young
Age/Birthday: 13/June 8, 1998
Gender: Male
God Parent: Notus
Claimed: No
Family: Elliot Young—Father Rebecca Young—Mother Caleb Young—Brother Sarah Young—Sister Isaac Young—Brother Anna Young—Sister Juliet Young—Sister
Years At Camp: 0
Brief History: Salvator Areli was born on June 8, 1998 in Rome, Italy. His mother died during the emergency C-Section, and since a father wasn’t present for the birth, he was immediately delivered to the local orphanage and put up for adoption. A year later, a young American couple took a vacation to Italy. They intended to have a romantic three weeks to themselves, but things didn’t go quite as planned. The hotel Rebecca and Elliot were staying at was less than a block from the orphanage. Rebecca’s nurturing, want-to-help nature drew her to the orphanage, and she insisted on talking to the headmaster and seeing the children. Elliot obliged, knowing Rebecca wouldn’t give up once she got an idea in her head. The couple toured the orphanage, and at the end of three weeks, they returned home—with a new baby brother in tow.
Caleb, who was six at the time, was shocked beyond belief. His friends had told stories of going to school and coming home to find a new puppy in the living room. None of them had ever come home at the end of the day to find a new brother, though. Caleb wasn’t sure how to treat Sal, but after seeing how much his parents loved the baby, he knew that’s what he needed to do, too. Three-year-old Sarah, on the other hand, was delighted to have a younger sibling. She didn’t care how he had gotten there, she just wanted to hug him, hold him, and play with him.
Over the next four years, three more children were added to the Young family, and Sal grew up being treated just like Rebecca and Elliot’s five biological children. Despite that, the older he got, the more he felt like he didn’t quite belong. His family clearly loved him, his parents and siblings were just as close as true blood relations would be, but something still felt off. The feeling was only heightened when Sal turned eight, and was diagnosed with Dyslexia and minor ADHD. Elliot and Rebecca finally had him screened when they realized he was at a much lower reading level than the rest of his peers, and he wouldn’t ever sit still.
Now, at 13, the feeling of not belonging finally makes sense. A satyr pulled him to Camp Half-Blood after he was nearly attacked by a monster at the local playground. Sal still can’t believe he is a demigod, he still hasn’t been claimed by his godly parent, but after two weeks, he is slowly adjusting to the life of a half-blood.
Physical Appearance: Nearly everything about Sal is dark. He has deep brown eyes, very dark, almost black hair, heavy eyebrows, and a slightly tanned complexion. He likes to keep his hair somewhat long and untamed, but not necessarily shaggy. He tends to run his hands through his hair when he gets angry or frustrated, and because of that, he never makes any attempt to style it. When it comes to clothing, he takes the same stand as his hair: he doesn’t care. The styles he wears vary greatly, but he couldn’t care less what anybody else thinks of it. He’s comfortable wearing a solid colored t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and sneakers. At the same time, he’s just as likely to don a pair of black skinny jeans, a relatively fashionable jacket, and a scarf. What he wears depends on his mood, but he never truly cares how anybody else perceives his style.
Personality: Overall, Salvator is a relatively quiet guy. The problem isn’t so much that he’s shy, he just doesn’t have a whole lot to say, and he prefers to observe the people and things surrounding him than to get caught up in a conversation. If he has something he thinks will add to a conversation, he’ll jump in, but if he doesn’t think his comment will benefit anybody, he stays quiet and simply watches everybody else talk. Sal also hates to stay in one place for too long. While his ADHD is minor compared to some demigods, he still can’t sit still. He has to move constantly in order to stay happy, even if that just means wandering around the edges of camp for several hours.
He rarely gets worked up over anything, but one thing that does scare him nearly to the point of insanity is water. He won’t get within ten feet of any body of water, no matter how big or small, if he can help it. He has no idea where the fear came from, but he is absolutely terrified of water. His fear is so great, he refuses to even take a bath. He can’t swim, he never wants to learn to swim, and taking a canoe out on the lake is completely out of the question. If someone even suggested doing something water-related, he would vehemently refuse to follow along.
On the rare occasions that Sal does reach that level of terror, playing the piano is the only thing that will calm him down. His aunt started teaching him to play when he was seven, and he fell in love with it. He isn’t a great player, he tends to play the same Mozart piece over and over, but the soothing sound of the notes is the one and only thing that will put him in a state of complete calm.
Fatal Flaw: His fear of water is his greatest flaw. The panic attacks brought on by it are paralyzing, and he can’t do anything when a terror like that hits.

Name: Eli Henderson
Age/Birthday: 17/February 4, 1994
Gender: Male
God Parent: Athena
Claimed: Yes
Family: Jeffery Henderson—Father Stacy Henderson-Cole—Step-Mother Brian Henderson-Cole—Step-Brother
Years At Camp: 5
Brief History: Eli grew up with just his dad, never knowing who his mom was. His dad told him as early as five that his mother simply disappeared one day shortly after his birth. Jeff came home from work one day to find Eli fast asleep in his crib, and his mother was nowhere to be found. All she left was a note on the kitchen table saying, I’m sorry. It’s for your own good, and an envelope addressed to Eli. The back of the envelope stated that it was not to be given to her son until his 12th birthday, and Jeff, wanting to honor what he thought was Eli’s mother’s last wishes, put the envelope in a shoebox in the closet. He tried to forget about it and move on with his life, but the first few years weren’t easy. He was eternally grateful that Eli hadn’t disappeared with his mother, but it was hard to get by without her.
The only thing that kept Jeff sane was his job as a mechanic. He worked endless hours, oftentimes dumping Eli in a swing attached to one of the raised car lifts while he worked. When Eli outgrew the swing, he started roaming the shop in a cruiser, and before long, he was his father’s “go get it” guy. He learned the layout of the shop like the back of his hand, so if his father called for a tool, he could get it in a matter of seconds. Eli was content doing this for his first few years of elementary school, but the old fix-it manuals eventually caught his attention. Jeff first noticed this when he called for a screwdriver, and it didn’t come. He finally found his son in the corner, devouring the words, pictures, and diagrams in each of the dozens of manuals he had managed to find.
After that, it wasn’t just mechanical manuals Eli read. He began visiting the library every day after school before returning to his dad’s shop. He read nearly everything he could get his hands on, but he loved the how-to kind of books. For one, he liked learning new things. Whether it was learning to cook new foods or put together a model train, he didn’t care. He just wanted to learn something new. For another, the how-to books had pictures to accompany the words. He never told his dad, but at times, the words would swim off the page in front of him. They confused him when they got jumbled together, but with pictures, it was easier to understand what he was reading.
When Eli was six, his dad started dating a woman whose car he had recently fixed. The woman was nice enough, but for some reason, Eli didn’t like her much. Years later, he came to realize it was because he felt like she was trying to take his dad away from him, but he didn’t know that at the time. All he knew was that his dad really liked her, and he wanted Eli to be nice to her. By the time he was eight, his dad had gotten married, and Eli suddenly had a new mother and an older brother. He and Brian tried to get along, but since both of them had been single children for so many years, they had their disputes.
Finally, sixth grade rolled around, and a few months after that, Eli turned 12. His father finally pulled the old, dusty shoebox out of the closet, and out of that, the envelope. Jeff had no idea what was in it, but he handed it over to his son anyway. Eli slowly pulled it open and read, his eyes growing wider with each word. The letter explained that his mother was a Greek god, and it was time he knew he was a demigod. It went on to explain that she had left to protect her son and the man she loved, but now, the only way Eli would be protected was if he made it safely to Camp Half-Blood. The one thing the letter failed to explain was exactly who Eli’s mother was, but she said she would reveal herself when Eli safely made it across the border of camp.
Jeff packed up the family car that very night, and drove Eli cross-country from Arizona to New York. He stopped as little as possible, knowing the words in the letter were true. He hadn’t known Eli’s mother was a goddess, but he did know she wouldn’t make up something like that. More than a thousand miles later, Eli made it to camp, and he crossed the border. Mere days after arriving, he discovered his mother was Athena, and he moved into her cabin. He has been living there ever since.
Physical Appearance: Eli has the typical blonde hair and stormy grey-green eyes of an Athena child. He stands at about five foot, nine, a height that isn’t overly impressive, but one that he is comfortable with all the same. He keeps his hair long and messy, allowing it to fall wherever it may. Keeping it neatly combed isn’t something that concerns him, especially after years of practically living in a workshop. It wasn’t unlikely for him to end up with oil or rust in his hair, so he never really bothered with trying to make it look good. Eli has a casual dressing style, sticking to whatever shirt he first pulls out of his closet, and either jeans or cargo pants. He prefers cargo pants because they provide plenty of pockets for carrying around books and little inventions, but he finds jeans perfectly comfortable, too.
Personality: Eli is a fairly outgoing person who loves to talk to new people. He picked up the habit from his dad who was constantly greeting new customers, explaining things to people who brought their cars into the shop, and chatting with those who waited around for quick fixes. It didn’t take Eli long to start chatting up the customers, learning little bits about different people, and gaining self-confidence along the way.
Despite his willingness to talk to people, he also finds solace in the solitude of books. Just like when he was little, he still prefers how-to books over anything, but he is learning to appreciate novels and literature as well. He is often up late at night, reading whatever he happened to pull from the shelves in his cabin. He tries to put his inventive experiments away by nine so he doesn’t disturb his cabin mates too much, but that doesn’t always happen.
The one thing Eli has never been good at is playing an instrument. He picked up plenty of music and help books from the library over time, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t understand a piano, a guitar, or a trumpet. He refused his dad’s offer for lessons, he wanted to learn on his own, but he just couldn’t do it. He eventually gave up, and stuck to learning things like woodcarving and metalworking.
Fatal Flaw: If he can’t learn something new, he gets incredibly frustrated, and tends to start throwing things. That was a danger when he was around hammers and such, but it’s even worse now that he has weapons.
Pets: None
Talents: Trying new things
Weapons: Two daggers he made with the help of a Hephaestus camper

Other: None [3] Hailey Brown- Spoiler:
Name: Hailey Brown
Age/Birthday: 15/April 15, 1996
Gender: Female
God Parent: Demeter
Claimed: Yes
Family: Jeremy Brown—Father
Years At Camp: 1
Brief History: Jeremy knew the woman he loved was pregnant, but he wasn’t expecting the child to come as soon as she did. He raced to the hospital as soon as he knew the baby was on its way, but by the time he got there, the baby girl had already been born. Her mother insisted on naming her Hailey, and upon hearing the conviction in her voice, Jeremy did nothing to disagree. He simply nodded dumbly as the nurse wrote the name on the birth certificate. The only sound he made was a quiet, tentative squeak asking if the baby’s middle name could be Rhiannon to honor his grandmother. His girlfriend agreed with a laugh, and he let out a breath of relief.
Two days later, he was told he could take his daughter home, but his girlfriend had to stay another day to be monitored. The birth hadn’t gone quite as smoothly as everybody had hoped, and the nurses still wanted to make sure nothing sudden came up. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened. Nobody seemed to be able to say what happened, but the next morning, Jeremy got a call from the hospital saying his baby’s mother had died. Left on his own, he vowed to take care of his daughter as well as he could, and he swore nothing would ever get between them.
Thankfully, it wasn’t too difficult to keep that promise. The little family lived on a farm, and as Hailey grew up, she took care of her father as much as he took care of her. They worked off of each other to take care of the animals, and Hailey absolutely loved it. After gaining three stray dogs, a cat, and a coyote pup, Jeremy stopped trying to say “no, you can’t keep it.” He eventually learned that if he said no, Hailey would just hide the animals in the barn, and feed them scraps from the pig’s trough. It was easier just to say yes, so then he could help her take care of them.
The only thing Hailey took care of completely on her own was the tiny flower garden next to the house. Jeremy had tried to plant a few tulips and sunflowers to brighten up the yard, but nearly everything he touched died. He gave up on the garden after the first year, and Hailey seized the opportunity. The tulips started peeking back up the next spring, and Hailey set about watering them and taking care of them. By the first frost the next fall, the garden had become full of tulips, and they flourished like Jeremy had never seen before.
When Hailey was 13, the coyote she had raised from a pup suddenly attacked her. She had no real idea of what had happened, she just knew it was no longer just a coyote, and it seemed hell-bent on killing her. She took off across the fields, her Collie hot on her heels, and the coyote/thing following the dog. She didn’t know how long or how far she had run, but the thing was always right behind her. It finally disappeared, but by the time it did, she was completely lost, and she had no idea how to get home. She began walking in God only knew what direction, hoping she’d find a recognizable landmark eventually. She never found a landmark she knew, but instead stumbled across a satyr playing a set of reed pipes in a wheat field.
The satyr was just as surprised to see her as she was to see it, but when it realized she was a demigod, it abandoned whatever it was doing to take her to Camp Half-Blood. Hailey was confused beyond belief when the goat boy started talking about Greek gods and their children, but it finally sunk in. She refused to believe it, though, until she reached camp. She finally started to believe after about a month of integrating herself into camp life, and six months after arriving, Demeter finally claimed her as her daughter.
Physical Appearance: Hailey very much takes after her mother personality-wise, but she got all her looks from her father. She has warm, chocolate brown skin, deep brown eyes, and thick black hair. Her hair tends to curl and become incredibly unruly on its own, so she often blow dries and straightens it to keep it manageable and decent-looking. She mainly dresses for her own comfort, but at the same time, she likes to keep up on what’s fashionable. She doesn’t like being labeled as a farm girl simply because of where she lived, so she makes sure her clothes don’t reflect that. She isn’t at all a fan of the orange camp t-shirts. She prefers colors like pink, blue, or green. She usually prefers to wear jeans as well, they’re easier to work in, but she will occasionally wear a skirt or a dress, too.
Personality: This is the part of Hailey that is almost completely from her mother. Of course, it was her father who raised her on a farm, but he was always the one to joke that she was raising him there. The animals always seemed to prefer her company, and she loved taking care of them. If anything showed up on their land either sick, injured, or lost, she would do anything to make them comfortable and nurse them back to health. She didn’t mind feeding or brushing any of the animals, and she never complained about having to clean out the stalls, either. She always seemed focused on the reward, which was having a loving, healthy pet.
Additionally, she was always best with plants, too. She loved when her dad planted a flower garden, but it was disappointing that they all died so quickly. She wanted to see the beauty of the flowers again, and it was clear she was a natural green thumb. The plants responded to her touch and care in much the same way the animals did, and she was always thrilled with that. Even flowers in vases seemed to last longer when she picked them.
Where Hailey tends to have an overabundance of outdoorsy skills, she lacks a bit in people skills. She isn’t afraid to talk to people, she’ll do that without hesitation; she just doesn’t often start the conversation herself. Most of what she talks about tends to revolve around her plants and her animals, and she has learned over time that that bores some people. She usually waits for someone to approach her because that generally means they’re interested in her garden or whatever. Since she spends almost all her time there, that’s where people are most likely to find her, and if they approach her there, they generally want to know what she’s doing.
Fatal Flaw: Hailey will put the safety of an injured animal before her own safety if it came down to it. When she was young, she rescued her dog from being run over by a car, and nearly took the hit herself.
Pets: A Border Collie named Sprachet
Talents: Hailey is good with plants and animals, but that’s about it.
Weapons: A spade and moth balls
Year-Round or Summer: Year-Round, though she returns home every other summer
Other: Oh! I almost forgot. I’m not sure if this is one of those sites where you get Brownie points for recruiting or not. If it is, Misael Campos needs his points. [4] Unmade [5] Unmade [6] Unmade [7] Unmade | |
