| JACOB RYDER I felt the knife skim my throat, leaving a cut that did not hit the jugular. I stumbled back. She's done it now. I stopped time. I climbed up the tree and hung right above her. I let go and I pulled back my fist. In mid-fall time continued as I didn't have the reserves to keep up. I hoped that I would hit her. | |

| I felt the dagger strike into my chest. I coughed up blood before falling back onto the tree. I wanted to tell Alice something but I don't know if I can without... gurgling blood. I tried to get up but fell onto my stomach next to Alice, the knife drove deeper into me.
