Subject: A Trip To The Beach (OPEN) Sun Jul 24, 2011 2:42 pm

Before starting for the beach, I put on my backpack, which had a pack of coke (SECRET) and a couple packs of chips (ALSO SECRET). When I was ready, I walked from my cabin to the beach. As I entered the beach, I felt the soft, hot sand underneath my foot. First, I went into the water and swam for a couple of minutes.

Later, I sat in the sand and drew some sunshine to myself and just watched all the activity around me. There were some Poseidon and Hecate kids playing Water Ball. Then there were some people that were hanging out just like me.

I opened my backpack and took out a coke. I popped the lid and started drinking. Then, I took out a pack of Doritos and started munching on them. I looked around for any familiar faces. I couldn't find any. "Oh, well, maybe I'll see someone later" I thought to myself

Markus lay on the beach, soaking in the sun that was oh so familiar to him. He loved coming out to the beach for some relaxation, and now that he was back at camp, he was spending as much time as he could shirtless and under the sun. He would have to return to Manhattan when school started again. School waited him there, even if he didn't want to go back to it. The good thing was that he started later than most of the high school and middle school students who were the more frequent campers at Camp Half Blood. But he didn't want to think about that. Instead, he just closed his eyes and relaxed, the sun beating down on his bare chest and legs.

As Markus lay there, he heard the snap of a can of coke opening. He knew cokes were not allowed at Camp, as he had been in trouble enough times himself for the smuggling of contraband food. Turning to the sound, he found the illegal substance with a young boy, probably no older than 13. He was really tan, and Markus remembered seeing him around camp before. "You know you can't drink those at camp, right?" he said with a smile. "How about you share one, so my mouth has something to occupy it. That way I won't go find Mr. D." He laughed and added, "I'm only joking. Stick it to the man, dude. I'm Markus Jones, son of Hephaestus. I've seen you around before. You're not new to camp, are you?"

"Hey, I'm Jake Nightflare, Son of Apollo" I said "Here" I handed him a coke. "Want some chips?" I asked He seemed like a nice guy, so I decided he would make a nice friend. I handed him a pack of potato chips anyway. "That'll keep you occupied enough to not tell Mr. D" I laughed. "What are you doing?"

Markus smiled as the young demigod handed him a coke and some chips. That was quite the stash of contraband. "Son of Apollo, eh?" Markus said with a smile. "With all the food you've got, I would have guessed you were one of Hermes's kids. Markus is my name, and making weapons is my game. I'm a son of Hephaestus." He would've offered his hand, but he didn't because he was lying down. "I'm just soaking up some rays and checking out the babes. What about you?"

Aubree walked out on the beach the rays of sun hitting her face. She wore a pink and yellow bikini and an oversized white teeshirt, sunglasses covered her eyes and flip flops protected her feet. Noticing Jake she smiled "Hey Jake!" She ran up to them smiling noticing another boy that seemed familiar but she wasn't sure.

"Same, just chilling out" I said "I packed some coke and chips cause you can never have too many." Then I noticed a girl with a pink and yellow bikini and an oversized white t-shirt walking towards us. "Hey Aubree. Nice of you to join us. Want some coke and chips? I'm in stock" I grinned

Aubree smiled pulling off her top to let the sun soak up into her skin. "yeah sure coke and chips sound great." She looked at the older boy "I'm Aubree Shae daughter of Apollo nice to meet you." Sitting down on the sand she smiled brightly thinking she was making lots of friends today.

"Markus. Son of Hephaestus." Markus replied with a smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you Aubree. Here to hang out with your little brother?" He nodded to Jake. "I'll let you two get to it then." He slid back his sunglasses and laid back down, still able to hear their conversation but wanting to give them some space.

She stared at Markus before turning to Jake. "How did you manage to get coke and chips?" She placed her sunglasses on her head looking around the beach. Opening her coke and taking a huge gulp she waited for a response.

Misael made his way down the beach, looking for a familiar face. he finally spotted Aubree and decided to make his way over to his friend. "Hey Aubree!" he called out from afar. Jogging, he closed the distance quicker. "How's it going?" Turning to the little kid she was with, Misael introduced himself. "Hey there, bud. I'm Misael Campos, son of Athena."

Markus heard a new voice join Aubree and Jake. He looked over to see a kid he didn't recognized. The demigod introduced himself as Misael Campos, a son of Athena. He must be new, Markus thought to himself as he laid back down. He relaxed and took in some more rays. Maybe later, he would feel more social.

Aubree smiled "Hey Misael and its going pretty good actually." She grinned at him taking a sip of her coke."So what have you done all day?" She asked curious looking up at the sun smiling. Letting the sun shine on her face smiling contently.

Anyways, anyone know how to get a surfboard here? I was thinking of going surfing" I heard someone approaching us, it was someone named Misael. "I Think He's New" I thought. "Hey Misael. I'm Jake, son of Apollo Are you knew?" I said

Markus sat up at Jake's comment. "She's a daughter of Apollo. You are a son of Apollo. That makes you siblings, even if only half. That's the life of a demigod, right? Get used to it, Jake. Heck, we are like cousins because of our god-parents. Everyone at camp is a part of one big dysfunctional family." He smiled at the young demigod, glad to educate him in the way of the half-gods. Turning to Misael, he added, "Misael, right? Markus. Son of Hephaestus. Glad to meet you."

Misael just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. "Oh you know," he replied. "I've been checking out the beach, looking for some friends. That's when I found you." The older guy around them turned to Jake. "He's right you now," Misael replied. "Glad to meet you too Markus." Misael had to admit that the older demigod was pretty attractive. "So I take it you aren't new around here?" Misael asked.

"Nah, I'm not new," Markus replied. "And as to the surfboard, I've heard of the nymphs and satyrs sneaking in weirder things. I am sure you could ask them for one, if camp doesn't have any. You'd be surprised what Camp Half Blood stocks for its campers." Markus could feel Misael's gaze on him, but it didn't really bother him. He was used to everyone checking him out. It was just a part of his life.

Aubree grinned ar Misael before looking at Jake "Markus is right, I am your sister only a half sister though." She smiled brightly lying back in the sand closing her eyes. "pretty sun" she murmured softly.

"Well Played" I smiled back to Markus "You're right of course, I totally forgot. Anyways, anyone wanna go surfing? I'm gonna go find a surfboard." I walked back near the camp and started to search for a surfboard.

Misael smiled as Jake talked about forgetting. He remembered what it was like to be that young. "I think I'll stay here with Aubree," he said with a smile. "But you go ahead and have a look, bud. I am sure they have a board out there for you." Then, he took a seat in the sand next to Aubree. He slipped off his shirt to avoid getting a farmer's tan. "How you been?" he asked.

Markus watched as Misael turned down Jake. He felt bad for the little guy. Plus, he didn't mind surfing all that much himself. "I'll go with you, bro," Markus said, getting up from his spot. He ran behind Jake, helping him look for a board. They finally found one, but there was only one. "You take it, bud," Markus told Jake. "I'll go hang with your sister and her boyfriend." He flashed him a wink, waiting to see what Jake would do.

"Thanks Man" I said "Why don't you ask a Satyr for one? But if you dont want to come, you can hang out with my sister and her special friend. But thanks, for helping me look." I headed off towards the crashing and smashing waves.

Aubree smiling turning on her side and looking at Misael. "Never been better." She blushed "after I left archery today I met somebody...His name is Sirius he's not claimed yet but I'm suposed to go to the lake to meet him tomorrow...Doesn't seem like a long term thing though..." She blushed lightly thinking of the infirmary today."And how have you been" She couldn't help but be curious

I started walking into the waves. I waited for a big one. Then I saw it. It was a SHARK. No, it couldn't be a shark. Could it? I started running so I could warn the others.

I walked towards a group of people. "Hey Guys! I'm Bob Sapphiresword, son of Athena." They must think I'm a newbie. But that's OK because I am. Out of thecorner of my eye I saw a guy running away from the water. I wonder what happened.

Misael listened as Aubree told him about her recent happenings. He smiled, glad that she had been able to find someone other than him. "I think I might have met someone too," he admitted. "But I am not 100% sure about it. Transitioning into this new lifestyle has been difficult, especially when a lot of people aren't open about it, including myself." He was glad he had Aubree as a friend. He was able to be open with her, to tell her the truth, and he didn't have to worry about the repercussions.

Markus smiled as Jake told him to ask a satyr. "I'll do that," he said, "but I doubt they'll help me. You know how satyrs can be sometimes. You go on ahead." But by the time he had said that, Jake was already running towards the water. Markus turned to walk back to the other two when he noticed that they seemed to be having a deep conversation, so he just slowed down a bit and settled with watching Jake surf. Markus was surprised when he saw Jake running away from the water. Wasn't he supposed to be surfing? What was wrong?

Misael had just finished talking when a little kid walked up to him and Aubree. The demigod introduced himself as a son of Athena; Bob was his name. "Good to meet you, Bob, or should I say brother?" Misael replied. "I'm Misael Campos, son of Athena, and I am new to camp. Are you new around here? I don't think I've seen you before, but then again, our cabin is quite large." He smiled at the newcomer. He was so little compared to Misael that Misa couldn't help but smile at him.

Luna smiled, walking up to the small group of people on the beach, her bathing suit hugging her body closely, complimenting her beauty. "Hi guys. What's going on here and why wasn't I invited?" Luna wasn't just smiling at the people. She was smiling at the fact that sand was tickling her toes.

Dylan grinned as he walked onto the beach with his bow and a single arrow. He was wearing a Gray Areo T and blue Swim Trunks. ~Time to have some fun~ he thought. He taped a piece of paper to his arrow and raised his bow. The note read:

SURPRISE!

He fired straight in front of Jake. WOOOSH the arrow landed in the sand a foot away from him.

I kept running towards the beach. Why did I go so far in? As if seeing a shark wasn't enough, an arrow landed in the sand a foot away from my foot. There was a paper attached. It said:

"Ughh" I thought "I'll get revenge later" I started running again while thinking of good pranks that I could play on Dyland. "THIS WAS GOING TO BE FUN" I thought

"Hi Luna! I'm Bob Sapphiresword, son of Athena. Nice to meet you." I replied. Then I saw some guy shoot an arrow towards Jake. I hoped he was OK. Not wanting for a fight to start, but I checked my swords in case I had to defend myself. I wonder who he is.

"HAHAHA" Dylan laughed as he ran towards the beach. "Hey guys I'm Dylan Topaz son of Apollo" He said once he reached the gathering of people. He pulled a new walkman mp3 out of his pocket and asked "Anyone want music?"

Walking towards the group of people from behind Jon pulled out a six pack of coke from his back pack. "Who wants coke?" He asked.

I was just about to reply to Jon when Jake came back. After hearing what he had to say, I immediately agreed and said that I would help Jake. "Come on Jake, let's go!" Not waiting for the others I ran towards the other side of the beach, warning everybody about the shark.

I as soon as Bob ran off, I followed him while screaming "Get out of the Water! There's a shark." As I kept on going I wondered if the others would help or not.
