The Quest to New York {private}

I thought for a moment. I pulled out my last arrow that had knock out gas. "This will really tell us if they're monsters or not. Knocks out monsters except demigods," I said.

I watched as Bella began to say something different. I cut her off. "That's the safest plan we can get right now." I told them. "Let's just go with it." My eyes wandered to the guys on the ground. Stupid mortals...

I nodded. I notched the bow and waited for the kids to come around the corner. I watched on video as they did. I slightly opened the door and shot the arrow. I closed it quickly. "What the--"

I light boom that sounded like a large puf from a fire came from thw other side of the door. I leaned against the door praying that Seth's plan was working and the gas wouldn't back fire. Of course, that was a stupid possibility. I looked at Bella wjo was watching the camera with curious eyes. The gas was clogging up the view of the screen, like a thick fog.

I watched as the screen cleared from the smoke. One monster was left standing. Or demigod. Whatever. "One monster left standing or demigod," I said. I shook my head.

"It's the guy," I muttered looking at the screen. "Or the tall one. However you guys see it." I squinted at the screen as the tall shadow moved through the cloud of gas with ease.

I squinted my eyes. "The dude? You mean that girl who looks like Megan Fox?" I asked. Isabella punched my arm. "It's an emposia dummy," She said.

I stared at Seth. "No," I said. "That's obviously a guy. Do you want me to go out there and proove it?" I asked. "I mean, I I might have to prove to myself that you're one." I heard Bella groan. We're still doing this! I thought. It's a bet I am going to win.

I narrowed my eyes at Kat. "WHat's that suppose to mean?" I asked her.

I get in between them. "There's another way to prove this. I'll just go out and put my plan to work to really see if this is a guy," I said.

I glared at Kat but she just shrugged and pursed her lips. I turned tp te camera, that was now fuzzy. The fog had been clearing too! The guy/monster/Megan Fox look alike must have taken the camera put. I cursed. "Be ready."

"It took out the camera!" I whispered loudly. I took a deep breath. "I'll just go out and distract it," I said. "Whatever it is," I muttered.

"Should we really open the door?" I asked my back still up against it. "We have no idea where it is. Seth's sleep gas fogged up the place." I put my ear against the dpor. Nothing was coming from the other side. No sound at all. I looked at Bella who shook her head. "Where did it go?"

I pushed Kat away from the door. I craked the door open slowly. I stepped outside. I coughed. Stupid smoke. "No one is out here," I said quietly.

I raised an eyebrow. "You sure?" I asked her.

I rollwd my eyes when Izzy pushed me out of the way. When she stepped out, I noticed Bella ha been wrong. The smoke had done anything but clear away. When Izzy stepped out only a couple feet it was already hard to see her. Some of the smoke drained into the control room but it din't do much. Bella waved it from her face. "How is there nothing out there?" I asked

We waited for her respone. None. I exchanged worried looks with everyone. I stepped outside with a bow notched. "Izzy?" I called out.

Bella and I followed with our weapons ready. I looked around frantically but didn't see Izzy. Bella took a few steps ahead of Seth and I. I held on to her shirt. "Izzy?" I hissed in a light whisper. Suddenly I didn't feel Bella's cotten shirt in my grasp any more. I reached for ward but grabbed at nothing. I backed up and with my free hand gabbed Seth's arm. My sword was raised and I'm pretty sure I cursed.

I looked around Bella disappeared, leving me and Kat. SHe grabbed my arm. I looked around. Where did they go? I heard clanking and a muffled scream. I locked eye with Kat. "What the hell," I whispered.

There was a light clatter like a bladefalling on the hard marble floor. "I blame you and your stupid sleep arrow," I muttered but made it obvious that I didn't mean it. I kept my hand holding on tightly to his shirt so he could still shoot an arrow. My hand must have slipped from Bella's shirt before, but I wasn't taking any chances this time.

I glared at her. "Shut up," I mumbled. I saw something move. Without thinking, I shot it with an arrow. It yelped and fell to the ground with a thud. I looked at Kat. I grabbed her arm.

It happened quick. Spmething cuaght Seth's eye. He had shot an arrpw quickly. Something cried out and I shut my eyes. Please be something bad. Not the others. That would suck...a lot. Something grabbed my arm and I opened my eyes quickly to see it was Seth. I couldn't feel my legs. For the first tome in a long time, I was entirely scared...though I would never admit it.

"Gods--" A female voice said but was cut off by something. I squeezed Kat's arm. We backed up slowly. I whipped around and pulled out a dagger, still holding Kat. I put it against someone's chest.

I held my breath as a voice came from where ever Seth shot. It sounded like a girl, Bella? Izzy maybe, but it was cut off. I had taught myself that in here, voices mean nothing, what with all the cyclopes' running around. When Seth and I had spun around some one was there. Seth put his knife against and tattered orange t-shirt. I forced my eyes to go up to the face. With relief I saw Bella. Just as I looked up, her earrinfs shimmered back into their rightful place, obviously just returning after a loss. "Are you okay?" I asked, but her eyes were wide and filled with hatred.

I pulled my dagger back. It was Bella. I sighed n relief. "You okay?" I asked quietly. I looked around. "Where's Isabella?" I asked. I heard more sword clanking.

I breathed hard. "I have no idea." I admitted. "Something grabbed me and then..." I ran my hand hands through my hair. "It's impossible to see in this." I muttered. "And I think it has nothing to do with your arrow." I pointed at Seth not making eye contact.

I nodded. We heard a yelp. I turned, trying to see. "Isabella!" I yelled. I fanned away the smoke. Still couldn't see. I gritted my teeth. I hearda few cruse words behind me.
