The Quest to New York {private}

I raised my eyebrows. "Yeah, P'Im p'sure p'that p'will p'work," I said sarcastically. "Any other GOOD ideas?" I asked.

"That," I said looking at Seth. "Will not work. I hate monsters and they're stupid but they arent idiots." I raised an eyebrow at him a if saying, really? Boys can be idiots...

There was an aftershock at three? Darn...I've been sitting on the ground outside for half an hour waiting for an aftershock. Darrrrnnnnnn it.
I nodded to agree to Kat. "Can you guys speak Fench by any chance?" I asked.
I don't really speak FrenchxD I'd use google translate...copy and paste...oh so easy:D

I thought for a moment. "I know some. Not a lot. You know what, why don't we just forget about talking in another lanuage. It won't work. They are watching us. I mean, they could record it and translate it or something," I said.

"Still don't like that sign," I told everyone. "It said monaters ahead, take elevator. We're probably walking into a trap either way, or someone is trting to help us." I didn't want to be the negative one, but I was right. We needed to look out.

I shrugged. "Or maybe since the sign did say take the elevator, they would think we would not take the elevator. We would go somewhere else where and monsters would be there. They know we won't take the elevator because it said take the elevator. I say take the elevator."

I looked at Seth awkwardly. "Okay," I said. "I got none of that." I crossed my arms. Why are boys always so complicated? Women are obviously the dominant sex...gods I sound like Bella.

I rolled my eyes. "Don't you get it. Since the sign says take the elevator, the monsters know that we won't take it. There could be a trap by the stairs or something. Take the elevator instead where it is trap free," I said.

"But maybe they thought we were smart enough to think past that and now we are headin into a trap because they thought we wouldn't take it because if the warning so we do take it and they figured that out."

I looked at Bella. "What?"

I slapped my forehead. "Ugh gods dam. This is confusing. Let's take the dam elevator," I said. I let out a breath. I shifted Seth's weight under me.

I sighed. "I swear to the gods," I muttered. "A map would be really great right now."

"Your dad is the god of travels," I pointed out. "Pray to him for a way. Or maybe his navigating skills rubbed off on you. Lead the way!"

"I suck a geography and moving around and maps, and all that crap!" I exclaimed.

I groaned. "Can we just go down the hall. Let's just do that. Monsters or no monsters," I exspaerrated.

I shrugged. "The arrow pointed that way anyway," Bella gave me a look. "What? Arrows don't confuse me! Maps and street names do!" she rolled her eyes.

I sighed. Why did girls have to be so difficult? I rolled my eyes. "Let's go to where the arrow is pointed then. C'mon," I said. Girls. No wonder males where better.

~ha, Kat thoughr the same thing up there about females! xD

I shrugged again. "Let's go then." I wince slightly as I took a hard step. Not used to beinf crippled yet I guess. Gods, my body ached like it was in Tartarus. I continued on thought trying not to wince too much.

I nodded and started to walk with one of Seth's around my shoulders. He had his other arm around Bella's shoulder. Lucky he's hurt. People practillay get to carry since he's wounded. Psh. We walked up the halls, just waiting for something.

I stopped abruptly almost dropping Seth. A light clatter of a sound only I heard echoed from behind us. It was subtle. I slowly undraped Seth's arm from my shoulders, and turned around trying to get a better position for listening. "We need to move," I said softly. "Skmething is following us."

I sighed and shifted my weight again. Gods, he was heavy. I walked a little faster. "We need to move faster," I said. We were almost jogging now. I caught my breath. There was a louder noise. I grumbled. I made Seth sit down and I got out my two long knives. "Come out whoever you are!" I shouted.

A light and soft laugh echoed the halls. It was almost peaceful and soothing. But K snapped my brain away from that. "Bella," I said softly.

I nodded shuting my eyes. My sister's laughter fille the air and I wanted to cry. I hadn't heard that in years and I wanted to run towards the sound. I knew better though. I willed myswlf to stay with myfriends. More Cyclopes may be coming.

I held my breath. Soon I heard my dad's singing. Like how he used to sing to me when I had a nightmare. Tears filled my eyes. I dropped my swords. "Dad?" I asked.

"Isabella it's just--" my mom's voice filled the air. I froze.

"Crap, crap, crap." I muttered and pulled on Izzy and Bella's hands dragging them down the hall trying to snap them out of it. Neiter of them would stop. It was only anmatter of time until the Cyclopse noticed me and my thoughts. I knelt down next to Seth. "Wake up!" I yelled. "Or I'll slap you!"

I didn't hear Kat's voice. I didn't even feel the floor. I got out of Kat's grasp and went down the hall. "Dad? Dad?"

"Isabella!" I tried to go after her. I tried to stand up but gasped in pain, clutching my side.

I had no idea what to do. Mt friends were dazed and one of them just bolted down the hall. I was in no shape to dart after her so I didn't even try. It hurt to much to even blink sometimes. Bellaseemed lile she was in a far off place.

I was no longer in the depths of the mall. In the base filled with monsters. With my friends and their many injuries. I was with my family in our old house. We were gathered aroundthe dinner table. Mark was putting straws up his nose and in his ears. Alicia was telling about her adventurous first day at Pre-School and Ethan was picking at his food tryin to think of excuses on not to eat it. It was my family and my favorite place to be. It's been five years...

I walked down the hall. I was hearing my dad's voice. Something came out. I was so dazed, I thought it was my dad. I held out my arms. "Dad?" He smiled. "Come here Isabella," my dad said. I went towards him. Instead of geing a hug, I was slammed into the wall.

I gasped loudly as a large crash broke my vision of my family. I was disapointed mostly, but I noticed Kat and Seth both holding a part of their body that seemed to be aching. Kat was trying to gather herself together and looked as if ready to run. I told her to stay ajd ran after Izzy. What I got, was me running into the Cyclopes that was turning the corner the same time I was. I fell to the ground and rolled out of the way before I was trampled by the beast.
