The Quest to New York {private}

"Hang on Ally!" I yelled. I ran under her so I catch her if she fell.I slashed at the monster. "It's uh... a baby, a grown man, and something else,"I yelled at the monster. The monster laughed. "Correct. But what's the last answer daughter of Athena?" It lunged at me. I stabbed in the chest. It hissed.

"An old man!" I yell, "It represents the aging of a person!" I threw my dagger at the creature to get it's attention away from Izzy. My knife came right back into my hands. I stood ready as the Spynx looke up and growled at me. It's chest was wounded, but it wouldn't die. It started prowling towards me.

"Correct," the monster told Bella. It was prowling her now. I threw one of my knives. It missed. I saw a fountain. that's it. I climbed on top of it; it was pretty high up. If I jumped, I would land on it's back. I gave Bella a look that said distract it.

By now, i was climbing up its back, despite every instinct and muscle in me tellin me to let go and fall. Seth would be there to catch me. I reached up to its neck. I pierced my dagger through its neck skin repeatedly.

"Hey, Cat!" I yell catching Izzy's glance.

"I am not cat, half-blood," the spynx growled.

"Well you sure look like one," I say. "But you smell like a dog." It hissed but didn't attack me. Istead it was hoping around trying to shake Ally off his back. It reminded me of men bull riding.

The monster got close enough to the fountain. I jumped and landed on it's back. It roared and started bucking like a bull. I raised one knife and brought it down right on it's neck. It yelped and turned to dust. Ally and I fell to the floor.
"One monster down!" I yelled.

"That was fun," I said sarcastically. I rubbed my head. Ow. "So we going to Pacsun?"

I sat up and rubbed my head."Ow, I'm never doing that again. Let's go to Pascun now. Please let there be no monsters."

"That's doubtful," I mutter as I walk over to Bella and give her a hand up. She had been knocked away when the Spynx was trying to throw Ally and Izzy off. "Monsters are going to follow us everywhere!"

"Well let's go there before more monsters come and get us," I said. I stood off and headed for Pascuan.
I kept looking around to see more monsters. I had an arrow loaded in my bow just in case monsters attacked.

I walked by Seth and on my way I patted his shoulder. "No monsters for now, Seth." I told him. "No need to attract people with the bow." people were already staring. Kat had put her sword away and my knives were now my earings. I understood why he was nervous about it though.

"Oh, I knew that," I told Bella. I rubbed my bow and it turned into a leather bracelet.

We walked into Pac Sun. My eyes darted across the room for anyome who looked different, weird, like a monster. None. Then again, monsters can look like plain mortals.

"You guys go around back," I say indicating the back door. "See if there is anything odd back there. Anything worth finding or anything worth protecting. I'll distract the employees."

I scanned the room, looking for anything funny. "If I was looking for something that could bring down the gods, where would it be?" I asked no one.

"Last time it was a cow," I mutter as Kat walks up to the front desk. "Well a cow fish, but still. It could be anything. Should we check in the back?" I asked. That's what Kat indicated and if she was going to do something, I really didn't want to see what.

I sneaked into the back of the store. No one had seen me. I looked around in the clothes trying to find something that didn't look normal. No such luck. Poop.

I watched as my friends followed Seth into the back door. The guy at the cashier who I had been talking to to get the attention away from my friends, was now looking that way. "Hey," I said and pulled myself over the counter now standing in his way. We were the same hight so he couldn't see over my head. "You're short." I tell him.

"You're not suppose to be back here." he says and points to the back. "And they are not supposed to back there. They are your friends I assume."

"I assume you are sixteen?" I snap back. He was the only guy in the store right now. I sighed heavily.

The guy raised his eyebrows. "Yeah?" Desperate much? I wanted to yell I leaned into the guy wrapped my arms around his neck and pushed his pressure point on his neck. He instantly passed out. I kicked him more behind the front desk then I looked around seeing no one else in the store. I ran to the back with my friends. "Find anything?" I asked.

I shuffled through hundreds of boxes. I dumped each one over. Nothing. But then a shoe fell out. Not realizing what it was and not even looking dowm to see it, I asked stupidly, "What was that?" I looked down and realized it was a shoe. Oops. "Nevermind," I muttered.

I was the last to go in the back. I watched as Kat knocked a guy out. "Kat! No killing people!" I hissed. I turned and saw Seth rumming through clothes. "What should we be looking for?" I asked.

I turned around. I was in the back; I couldn't see what Kat was doing. Then I heard Izzy tell Kat no killing people. "She what!?" I turned around.

"I didn't kill him," I hissed. "You guys were not suppose to see that. Well now you know I can kill you with the flick of my finger. It's this pressure point right on your neck." I start but Bella stops me.

"Kat!" I yelled. "You didn't kill him right?"

"No!" I said. "I knocked him out."

"Why are you talking about killing people?" Kat dost respond this time. She just rolled her eyes.

I turned to Ally. "She knocked out a guy. She was doing that to make sure we got back here. I hope that is the reason!" I exclaimed. I looked through more clothes. I saw another door. "Look guys!"

I ran to the door and jiggled the handle. "It's locked." I groaned. Thats great. We finally get a lead and it's locked. Kat pushes by me and pulls a hairpin from my head. "Hey!" I yelled. My bangs now fell into my face.

"Shut it blondie," I mutter. I put the hair pin into the lock and turned it a few times. I unlocked it but something else appeared on the door. "It's a weird coded lock." Bella mumbles in a half groan.

"Nice trick." I couldn't help but grin. "After this quest, you so gotta teach me." I turned. Izzy said there was another door. And it was locked. Darn. "Well, there's gotta be something important in there then."
