The Quest to New York {private}

I grinned and held out Philla," Philla is ancent greek for brotherly love or friendship." I explained.

"We should start where Bella said. I'll be the bait," I told them, putting my backpack on.
"Just be nearby," I told them.

"Izzy, do you have something to prove?" I ask abruptly almost stopping th car. "You are volunteering for every dangerous and stupid task that comes up. Is this quest just a way to show off, or are you just trying to get yourself killed?" my grip was tight on the wheel. At first I was afraid I would upset her but I wad nervous about her. "Okay," I sigh, "You are leading this, but we are supposed o work as a team."

I looked down at my shoes. "I just can't let you guys get hurt," I told them quietly.
I mentaly groaned. Do we have to talk about our feelings now? I'm a guy. I don't relly express my feelings

"We don't want that either," I say. "We'll do it together. We are a team and we are friends. It's something that we can all do to ensure Everyone's safety." we were only a couple more miles from the mall. I let out a swap breath I had been holding flin for a while.

I wasn't going to tell them they had family to live for and other weird human things. I sat back in my seat. Why did I always choose to do all the stupid and dangerous things?
"I'm ready to kick some demon butt!" I cheered to get everyone in the mood.

I am ready to hurl. I thought but didn't say aloud. This was all sappy friend stuff and it made me want to puke. Gods, yes I do love my friends like siblings but I dont male a big deal over it. Seth seemed to be the only one who was trying to turn the mood around. "I could really go for some butt kicking right now," I agree patting Asia on the head once.

I pumped my fist in the air. "Whooo! Someone agrees!" I yelled. I loooked out a window and saw a man driving and looking at us, jaw on the floor. I realized I was holding my dagger and bow and arrow. "Uh...Bella? Can you drive faster? I think a mortal thinks we are about to kill someone," I told her.

"I can't speed through other cars," I explain harsly indicating the many cars infront of me going ten miles below the speed limit. "Plus the Mist should be doing its job here. But I'm pretty sure getting out of a car with two dogs and an owl following us won't be the most normal thing in New York city today." I checked the time. It was almost ten a.m. People should already be at work why was there so much traffic.

"And a tiger," I added. "Abbadon is getting a little heavy," I said. I winced as J picked up the backPack she was sleeping in. I dumped her out and she hissed. I disregarded her and looked at the car next to us. "Yeah, but cant some people see through Mist? I can..."

"Well, that makes it even weirder." I said. "Oh, and a lot of people can see through the Most. Most will ignore it and conclude they are crazy cause no one else notices. But the Mist won't disguise owls, dogs and tigers. They are normal creatures. Weapons wont be noticed that much."

Asia peaks her head to the back seat and sniffs at Abbadon. She growls lightly but I pat her head making her stop.

I changed mah colors!! Now Ally is red so itll be easier to tell cuz there was like 3 blues
I laughed at Asia and Abbadon. I yawned. "I still didnt catch up on sleep," I told them. I blinked slowly. "I wish I could lay down." I looked around. I recognized our surroundings. We were almost there.

I tapped my foot on the car seat. My ADHD decided to kick in. "We ther?" I asked. I couldn't help it. Dang, ADHA. "Why do demigods have to have ADHD?" I asked.

"It's our battle reflects," I explain, "It's what keeps us moving in battle. It stinks that by everyone has ADHD but they are still great fighters. ADHD Is what helps keep as alive when we are fighting monsters." I finally see what I recognize as the mall. I sigh with relief. So far, we were doing okay.

"Finally!" I said. I looked out the window, but my view of the mall was blocked by the same car as before. "Uh guys..." I squeaked. "He's still here."

I slowly turn my head to the side as I pull into a parking spot. The guy in the car parked a few lanes over. I look towards the man. He doesn't get out of his car. I don't turn off our car. I got an idea and pulled out of the spot making our way around the mall. After a few moments, the man fOllows in his car a few other cars back. "He's following us," I conclude. "Why would a mortal follow us? He wa looking at us funny before."

"Are you sure its a mortal?" I asked. After the day we snuck out, I learned to be suspicious of everyone. "He could be a monster, or something..." I reasoned.

"Ignore him?" I suggest bitterly. I wasn't in the mood to fight another monster. Especially a mortal monster thing. We wouldn't be prepared for anything like that. "Bella park. We'll shake him of later." I rub Ed my bracelet prepared to open my sword when needed.

"Okay," I said. I didnt think this was a very good plan, I just didnt want to say it. If it was a monster, it coukd follow us and attack at any moment. I put my dagger back into my shoe, but I was ready to use it whenever.

I made sure I had my dagger ready. Why would a mortal be following us? I paused. "What if he is after the same thing we are?" I asked. "He could be working with the monsters," I said.

"Perfect," I mutter and pull into a spot far from the entrance to the mall. The man of course, follows close behins us and parks a few spaces away. Again he waits for us. I turn off the car and hop out of the truck cursing to myself.

I raised my eyebrow. "Should I shoot a fart arrow at the car as we run into the mall?" I asked.
I shrugged. "It could work," I said.

"Thats..." I start thinking of the right word. "Disturbing. Go for it." I say with a wide smile. I get out of the car with the others. Asia was at my side. The man got out of his car.

"When it hits him, run. Hopefully I'll be alive." I loaded my bow with my fart arrow. I aimed at the man who was coming towards us. I shot it. The arrow exploded as it made contact with the man. "Run!" I shoued over the cloud dust.
I hesitated. I was NOT going to leave Seth alone with the fart smelling man. He was my friend.

Abbadon took off running but I hesitated. Seth was still near the guy, and so was Izzy. "C'mon guys!" I called. I coughed violently. God it stunk.
