Chapter 1.
A Rude Awakening.

Jethro Black

The Chronicles of Jethro. (Part 1) B7b23fb7d6

I hurried through the streets of England, pushing past people of all kinds. The temperature was rather cold out, as I panted, I could see my breath wisking behind him, never to be seen again. I vaulted over the railing to a restaurant and hid behind a wall, the customers looking at me with disgusted, worried, and confused faces. I responded to that with a simple middle finger. The customers scowled at me as they returned to their dinner. I looked with the corner of my eye, and saw the crazy demon hunter teleporting around. He walked into the restaurant and started to ask the waiters if he’s seen me. One of the clumsy waiters pointed to me. The demon hunter turned his head in the direction the waiter was pointing at to find me, hiding, he smiled evilly at me, his eyes glowing red. Oh… crap.
I let my instincts take over, and my hollowed bones shall make myself go faster. My body vaulted over the railing and I sprinted to a drain pipe where I used my strong arms and legs to climb up as fast as I could. My hands found the ledge to the building and I pushed myself over the edge, using one leg to give me leverage. I let myself roll onto the rooftop and saw the demon hunter on the rooftop before mine. I vaulted up and off of the ground and started to sprint. No… this a dream right? Right? I felt my right foot step onto the ledge and I vaulted myself off of it.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” I yelled as I jumped fifteen feet. What… The… Hell? I landed on the rooftop across from me and apparently Crazy Demon Hunter Guy felt the same way about my feat of strength. A laugh erupted from my throat. Holy crap I just did that. I sprinted off again, jumping from rooftop to rooftop. No fear in this boys brain.. No fe-I tried to finish the thought but as I was in mid jump, I felt something thump into my shoulder and a huge BLAM! I fell through the air, over the rooftop and smashing into the wall of The London Clock Tower. Everything started to spin, I felt around my shoulder and realized I have been shot.
Ah damn. I used a wall to pull myself up and started to run into the Clock Tower. My body wanted to just let go but my legs said no. My legs pushed me past a security guard and up onto the wooden platforms that leaded up to the clock. My arms and legs were moving on their own accord now, and I felt like I wanted to throw up. I was speeding up ladders, my hair flowing back as I did so. Eventually I couldn’t take it anymore and I fell off a ladder, through a wooden platform and smashing onto another one. I heard foot steps.
“Well, well, well, look what we have here… a Demon who’s fallen from the heavens? Expected. Well, you put up a good fight, and I appreciate that.” The demon hunter said. I used one hand to crawl away. The demon hunter laughed, as I hopelessly crawled to the end of the platform. Damn damn damn. I sat upright, my arm, it felt like it was going to collapse.
“Any last words… you know what that’s way too cliché,” The demon hunter said as he took out his sword. His sword… it glowed. I can’t believe this is how it’s all going to end. No… NO! I WILL NOT LET IT END THIS WAY!
“JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!” I yelled and a flash of fire exploded from me. I closed my eyes, I don’t know for how long. When I opened them, I opened them cautiously, to find the demon hunter blown back, at least thirty feet. I saw sparks and… green… fire destroying the wooden platforms around me. What the hell is happening to me? I looked at my left arm, it was made of hellfire and brimstone… How did I know that? I stood up warily, and started to walk in the direction of the demon hunter. I found a dagger, it looked demonic, probably one of his. I picked it off of the wooden platform with my good arm and looked over the body of the demon hunter.
For a split second I thought he was dead, but I thought otherwise when his hand shot up, and clenched my throat. I took my knife and tried to stab him, but he parried it with one of his own. So I used the momentum of my dagger bouncing off of his and stabbed it into his wrist on the arm that was clenching my throat. He grunted in pain and took his arm away. I punched him in the face and tried to kick him but he gripped my foot and flipped me over easily. I landed on my back and rolled over to miss one of his knife thrusts. I yelped when the knife caught my hood. He grinned as he took out another knife. Although I was quick to respond, I used one of my legs to sweep his legs out from under him. He landed next to me, but his feet landed on my bad shoulder. ARGH! I used a foot to kick him on the side of the face and grabbed the knife.
I ripped the knife out of my hood and threw it off of the edge of the platform. I used my good arm to push myself off of the ground. We were both pretty groggy at this point. I threw a punch but he dodged easily and kneed me in the stomach. My eyes almost popped out of my skull. Damn. I fell to my knee’s and clutched my stomach. I felt a boot crack against my skull as I leaned down. I rolled, and almost fell off of the platform. When he tried to kick me off I slid off the platform, simulating that I died.
He snickered as he walked away. Although when he turned his back I vaulted up onto the platform and punched towards him, but he clutched my forearm and flipped me over his shoulder. I fell to the ground and kicked upwards, my sneaker cracking against his skull. When I got up he pulled off his left glove, revealing an arm made out of hellfire and brimstone, just like mine. I ran towards him as he did to me. My fist pulled back and his as well and we released them, and when they were inches away from each others skull, a blinding dark blue light exploded in front of me, knocking me to the right, off of the platform, smashing through one and landing on another. I saw the demon hunter be blown back to the end of the platform, and almost sliding off the edge. I saw an unbelievably beautiful woman, wearing quite a skimpy dress. Then I saw something weird… a man and woman, one holding a crystal while the other was holding a staff, had… had.. Pointed ears… I blacked out..

Chapter 2.
An Even RUDER Awakening.
12/22/2011. 3:00 AM.
Jethro Black.

The Chronicles of Jethro. (Part 1) B7b23fb7d6

My body was dropped in a place, with fog, mist, and such things all around me. What the hell? I heard a voice boom out from the shadows and fog.
“Jethrooooo.. You have a part to play in all this. A very big part….” I heard the voice say, it was like rock scraping against… another rock… SHUT UP! I couldn’t talk, the presence of whoever this was… it was deafening.
“Master… Your powers… It will be… Glorious!” The voice said. “Do not fail me Jethro,” The voice finished and then I was sent back to the real world.
I awoke in a sweat. Oh… oh god. What the hell was that? Wait.. Where am I? I looked around, I was in a tent. A pretty big tent. I looked around and there was medical equipment all around, with stones and crystals inside of them. I felt my shoulder, the wound was gone. I took off the tubes that were all on my arm, they made holes. I looked under the covers. I WAS NAKED! Wh-Who undressed me? I got out of the bed and looked around. Pants anyone? I opened the tent flaps and saw several people out by the campfire. Two girls… Crap. They gasped and blushed as they saw me.
“GEEZUS!” I yelled and closed the tent flaps. I took a towel that was stained with.. My blood.. Which was apparently golden? How did I know that it was my blood? Ah… who knows. I wrapped it around my waist and walked to the camp fire. The woman averted their eyes from my chest. I looked at the demon hunter. HOLY! I backed away and he rolled his eyes.
“It’s alright, Lelanie saw you naked most of the time you have been with us,” A comforting voice erupted from a… male elf apparently. I looked over at the girls and one of them was blushing dark red, I assumed that was Lelanie. I winked at her and I turned back to the man.
“Ah… ok I‘m confused. Elves, my forearm and hand are made out of hellfire and brimstone, and I had a weird vision…” I said, very confused on the matter.
“Ah… vision?” The elf said, he had a very worried look on his face. That didn’t make me feel any better about all this.
“Yeah..” I explained to them about the voice and the misty place. The elves had worried faces, the beautiful woman’s… face was… I don’t know exactly.
“It’s obvious isn’t it? They are trying to resurrect Lord Dracul,” The beautiful woman piped up, acting like, of course everyone should know this.
“Dr-Dracul? L-Like the vampire?” I asked, with an ever more worried face on. “who exactly are you?” I asked the woman.
“My name is Rachel… Rachel Hallerie. A vampire,” Rachel said. I gasped in horror and fell back. I crawled back and my left forearm and hand turned into hellfire and brimstone again.
“STAY AWAY FROM ME!” I yelled, pointing the hand at her.
“Is this… Is he serious?” Rachel asked. She smiled mischievously, she looked about my age. She walked up to me, and I closed my eyes, keep the eyes off the skimpy dress… KEEP THE EYES OFF THE SKIMPY DRESS! I thought to myself. Rachel was not even a hair length away from me. I expected her to bite my neck and… goodbye world. Although she did something unexpected, she kissed me. Then she snickered along with the demon hunter. Whaaaaa? Lelanie frowned at Rachel, hm.
“Ah… ok then..” I said, walking back. “Before we go any further, can.. I get some clothes?” I asked them. Lelanie smiled and hurried off to her tent. She came back with a t-shirt, underwear, a hoodie, and jeans. I thanked her and quickly went back to my tent. I put on my clothes and noticed, this shirt was wryly to small for me. I put it on anyway and walked back to the group and took a seat next to Lelanie. Lelanie, who was being very nonchalant about it, would look at Jethro’s muscles through his shirt every now and then.
“So… again… vampires, elves, forearms made out of hellfire and brimstone, and demon hunters… Huh?” I asked. Jovan looked at Lelanie for a second and they both nodded, agreeing on something.
“ You are half demon, half angel,” Jovan said, comfortingly. Even his comforting tone made me feel edgy.
“WHAT!?” I yelled. Jovan almost winced at my loud yelling.
“You’re parents… they were always… hiding their true natures from you because Demons and Angels… they’re not even supposed to meet, let alone have a child. Didn’t you notice they were always traveling? They were always on business. That’s because they were covering up where they have been in their free time. With you. Eventually the Demons and Angels found out and well… I am sorry for your loss Jethro,” Jovan explained. I remember, it was a month ago I was visiting for Thanksgiving, and I found them dead, and the house was destroyed.. So… Much… Blood.
“It… makes sense now,” I said, remembering the flashes of light that would explode from me whenever the bullies pushed me just a little bit too far. Although, those were blue lights. “Can I… do things with my Angel side?” I asked him.
“Yes. I can sense you have used Angel magic before,” Jovan said, which was true. “Try it out, you’re right arm channels your Angelic Magic,” Jovan said and pointed to a tree. Ok… here it goes I guess. I concentrated on holy stuff, and then remembered those times I was bullied. In a flash of blue light, my forearm and hand was made out of gold, and blue… crystals. I looked my hands over, Shadow and Light. Yin and Yang. I pointed to a tree with my right arm and a blast of holy magic shot out of it, blasting me back at least ten feet. The demon hunter and vampire laughed. They exchanged looks, his of disgust, and hers of attractiveness. Lelanie giggled. I gave them a thumbs up.
“Ah… Lelanie, could you take our… hero,” Jovan snickered. “Out to the woods to… teach him to use his powers?” Jovan asked her, giving her a wink. What was the wink about? She giggled.
“Sure,” She said, through giggling and it looked like she was almost floating on air as she skipped towards me. She offered me a hand, giving a very happy smile. “aCome on then,” She smiled, her green eyes were mesmerizing. I took the hand and she ran off with me to the forest…

Chapter 3.
How would you respond?

The Demon Hunter.

The Chronicles of Jethro. (Part 1) 75c6e512ad

WHAT THE HELL! I woke up and sat upright. Where the hell was I? I looked around, I was in a tent, lit by several torches. I looked under the covers… Naked… I kind of expected that. Why would they help me? The elves were there for the child of prophecy, I was there to kill him, and make sure that prophecy never happened. Damn employer left me for dead, they must’ve taken pity on me and brought me back to heal me up. I got out of the bed and took off the test tubes. I looked at my body, incredibly muscular, I haven’t eaten in a while. I looked over at a female elf caring for… my target. An evil smile erupted from my face. I quickly, and silently took his clothes and threw them under my bed and put on my jeans. I snuck over to the elf, and lifted my Unholy Hand.
“See ya sweet cheeks.. Oh god I did not just say th-” I tried to finish my sentence bu the elf screamed, grabbed a ruby from the table and pointed it at me. Not a jewel summoner… I felt something as if a spear was being stabbed through me and I was blown at least twenty fwet into the air, smashing through the flaps of the tent and sliding right to the feet of another elf. Holy crap. The prince. He is embedded with Lyrium.. Liquid magic that goes through his veins. I shot up, and grew my wings. The prince grabbed his staff off of the floor and spun it around his fingers so quickly it looked like a buzz saw. I was dealing with a pro.
“Come and get me!” I yelled at him as he shot a huge magic bolt at me. I dodged it barely and dived straight towards him. He responded with a lightning bolt to my face. I smashed into the ground, my wings slid into his feet, sweeping his legs out from under him. He flipped right next to me, our temples touching. I rolled back onto him and pulled back my fist, I punched him straight in the jaw, and repeatedly to the head. I smiled as blood spurted out of his mouth, then I realized he had his staff in his hand. Oh hell no.. He stabbed at me, the blunt staff hit me in the stomach and an arcane blast erupted from it. I flew at least fifty feet in the air. Oh crap. I started my descent downwards and thought it was the end. I have no regrets.
Then something… odd happened. I felt my torso, caught and arms wrapped around it. Who? I landed with a thump and my head was on a woman’s lap. Beautiful. I sprung up. I looked around for my sword and found it in a bag.
“Why?” I asked them. Jovan the prince looked at me with anger, then a confused look on his face emerged, then he laughed. Jovan realized I was just confused, and was backed into a corner so I was defending myself. Jovan made a gesture to the other elf to lower her ruby. I backed away from the vampire who was looking at me with a hungry look. Jovan the prince gave me a comforting smile along with his sister I presume… her name was Lelanie I think.
“You have a part to play in the prophecy.. Might I ask your name?” The prince asked.
“Spathos…” I replied solemnly. I had a part to play in the prophecy eh? A cruel joke.
“You shall not kill Jethro, you shall become his friend,” Jovan told me. The hell I am! That kid beat the hell out of me! Then in the next second, The Prince placed his hand on my shoulder and gave me a comforting smile.
“You will. Accept your fate,” He said and walked away. I eyed The Prince. Ok… I won’t kill him for now. ‘Thank you my friend’ I heard a voice in my head. Oh yeah… Elves have the ability of telepathy. Hm… I sat next to the vampire, not sure what to make up of all this. The vampire put a hand on mine and I shook her away.
“You wanna know something else that I see in your future?” The vampire asked. Hell this vampire could have the power of foresight. I turned my head towards her. She gestured me closer and I rolled my eyes as I leaned in.
“You and me, my tent,” The vampire said and giggled. I scowled as I turned away. I cracked my jaw and I felt a hand touch my arm, I shook her off.
“Come on… I was just playing. Let me just say your scent is fantastic,” She told me. Was that supposed to be a compliment? I rolled my eyes. She smirked. She was not going to give up that easily. She took my arm and pulled me closer. I couldn’t break away.
“Shh shhh shh… Just you wait, you’ll come to me soon enough,” Rachel said and kissed me on the cheek. I finally wss able to break away and growled at her. I walked away and sat by The Prince.
“The damn vampire is trying to get into my pants,” I said, causing Jovan and Lelanie to laugh. I raised an eyebrow at them and smiled. It was quite amusing wasn’t it?
“She tries to get in everyone’s pants, even tried to get me once,” Lelanie piped up through laughs. I raised an eyebrow at that as well.
“And..?” I asked.
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” Lelanie said and smiled. Jovan was laughing. It even caused me to snicker.
“Tch,” I said, stopping myself from snickering. Jovan smiled at this.
“You don’t have to hide your smiles and laughs from us, we’re your friends now,” The Prince said, smiling a comforting smile.
“Really? Cause five minutes ago Ms. Squeal over there hit me with her Jewel Summoner magic. Lelanie looked away, embarrassed.
“That was a-” Jovan tried to explain but I cut him off.
“I am not any of your friends! REMEMBER that!” I emphasized remember. I got up and walked inside of the healing tent. I looked at my target, Jethro apparently, his parents killed, little did he know… He has a sister. Heh. What a surprise that will be when I tell him. I made both of my hands and forearms turn into hellfire and brimstone. I used one hand to grab his throat and the other, I made a cut that went across his nose. The Mark of Cain… it worked… He is the Hero of the Prophecy.
“See you later… Hero,” I smiled evilly as I walked back outside…

Chapter 4.
This day just gets better and better…
12/22/2011. 5:01 PM.
Jethro Black.

The Chronicles of Jethro. (Part 1) B7b23fb7d6

It took us three hours to get here… Better be worth it. Lelanie gave me a heart-warming smile before stroking my arm and opening the pathway. Oh… My… God. A beautiful valley so beautiful, plants all colors, blue, red, green, it was so amazing. It almost seemed impossible that such a place exists.
“Amazing isn’t it,” I heard a voice, not like any others, it was Lelanie’s. She looked out on the great expanse of the valley. All I could do was stare at her, and when she turned towards me, I looked upon the valley as if I was doing so the whole time.
“Eh… I’ve seen better,” It was a horrible joke… and yet she laughed. Did that seem weird? I don’t know. Ah… what was I supposed to do now?
“Jethro, uhm… do you want to know how to control your powers?” She asked, it seemed desperate the way she talked to me… Was that weird?
“Sure!” I exclaimed eagerly. Magic… awesome. She walked over to a blue plant, it was huge and beautiful, and then she reached inside the bulb of the plant. It seemed dangerous so I almost flinched at her expense, but she pulled out a beautiful glowing blue sapphire as big as the palm of her hand. She smiled at it as she stroked it with her left hand, it almost seemed to… purr?
“Yes yes, we need your help… Yes the boy can be a bit of a dunce… Oh that is uncalled for,” She spoke to the crystal and every time she paused, the crystal would make a humming noise. The humming noise became agitated as I hard her say Oh that was uncalled for.
“What is it saying?” I asked, I looked over her shoulder, I couldn’t see anything. Although she stared at it as if she was looking into someone’s eyes. I made a beeline from her eyes to where she was looking and concentrated on that one part. I saw a face… that face is getting bigger… That face is spiky and has fangs. CRAP! The face exploded out of the Sapphire, as a column of blue and black smoke. I was blown back, smashing into a tree as I saw the column disappear into thin air.
“It doesn’t like you since your half-demon,” Lelanie said, giggling. I loved her giggle, stop it Jethro, you got no chance with an elf. Huh… I never thought I would ever think or say what I just thought.
“Oh… I don’t like it either. So how is this thing supposed to help me?” I asked, even more confused than before. I pushed myself off the ground and kind of limped/walked over to her. Then she did something unexpected, she took the crystal and made a stabbing motion to my chest. I couldn’t dodge. I felt the crystal break through the skin, and start to bury itself in between the muscle fibers under my skin. ARGH! I fell to the ground, the crystal was in my chest, and it hurt like hell.
“What the hell was that?” I asked, and felt a little bit of blood rush into my mouth, I spat it out before looking back at her. She was already kneeling by me.
“Hold on this might sting a little,” She said as she took off her right glove, I never knew why she only wore one glove in the short time that I have known her, until now. Her right hand… uh… was taloned. She gripped the crystal and… well… I burst into the air, and energy flowed through me, it felt like I was just hit by a thunderbolt but that was quick, this was relentless. Finally, after a while it stopped and I fell to the ground. Ugh… what the hell?
“SORRY!!” She said as she trotted over to me and ripped the Sapphire out. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?… You know I actually feel better than I have in years. What was in that… jagged sapphire? I felt energized, like I could take on the world. There wasn’t even a wound.
“What was in that?” I asked, did I just get shot up with steroids? Jesus… This was some crazy shizz.
“It… lets you control your Angelic Magic,” Lelanie said, and pointed to a tree. She smiled at me which gave me courage. “Try it out,” She said and stepped out of my way. I did feel a bit… more powerful? I looked at my right forearm and hand and suddenly they turned into glowing blue and gold crystal. I made a swiping motion with my hand toward the ground. For a second I thought nothing happened. Then a crack exploded in the ground, at least ten feet in length. I made a fissure in the ground where light BURSTED out of it. Awesome. I stopped the fissure by closing my fist and punched at the tree where a huge Angelic Magic bolt exploded out of my hand and cracking into the tree. I felt tired out.. More so than I’ve felt in a long time. I fell to my knee’s and touched my right angelic hand to the ground. I felt a bruning sensation as if my arm was on fire. AH! The crystals receded and I fell back.
“What the hell?” I asked. Lelanie giggled. Apparently I was new to this.
“Since hell and heaven are different planets no Angel or Devil can absorb magical energy from the planets. So, Angels sent a huge Magical Source in the sky for Angels and The Devils made the core of the earth a reservoir of Demonic Magic. So when and Angel touched the ground it hurts. Some know how to fend it off but not many,” Lelanie explained. I looked at my left hand and hellfire and brimstone erupted around my left forearm and hand. I touched the ground with my left hand and felt a surge of power explode into me. WOAH. I took my hand off of it. That was pretty amazing.
“Cool,” I said. Yeah that was my response. I wondered about something. “Can Demonic and Angelic… you know… combine?” I asked Lelanie.
“Er.. They have before… Asrael, the Angel of Death is an offspring of an Angel and Demon, but Demonic magic was the primary aspect of Asrael’s powers. Archangels are also offspring of angels and demons but… Angelic magic is the primary aspect of their power,” Lelanie explained. I still have a lot of stuff to learn about Demons and Angels. A LOT.
“So what about Vampires? How did they get mixed into the fray?” I asked her.
“Well, Vladimir the Impaler was the offspring of a human and demon. When he was defeated by the Ottomans, his face plunged into a pool of blood. He started to suck it up and the next thing you know, his demon side took over and he’s been infecting people ever since with the Vampiric Virus,” Lelanie explained again.
“Oh wow. So are their werewolves?” I asked, it might sound stupid but why not?
“Yeah but they are almost extinct. there are a few tribes on earth but that’s about it,” She said, I was incredibly interested.
“How about we meet up in my tent tonight and you can tell me more?” I asked, smiling at her.
“Uh… sure!” She answered eagerly.
“Cool! Uh… see you there!” I said and ran off back into the path that lead back to the camp.
Meanwhile…
A man sprinted incredibly quickly through a field of flowers and vaulted into the air, and over the tree… He started to sniff a footprint..
“Jethro..” The man said and ran off into the forest.
