Flash strolls on to the sandy beach, hoping to clear his mind.Camp Halfblood couldn't be an island,could it? Flash felt uncomfortable with the mass of people walking around,but he didn't care, Flash's impression of a Camp half blooder, was that of selfish and rude,not one person had greeted him nicely since he awoke,nor did they bother to answer his questions. So Flash had to find out himself. He was deep in thought as he stared out into the open sea,lying in the sand,as some memory came back,the place in which he used to live,Long Island, and then Flash knew he was home. Well,almost home.

I was sitting on the beach, staring out at the water. I took my hair out of my ponytail when a boy around my age came walking down the beach. He looked distracted, or even slightly lost. "Hey, you okay?," I asked quietly to the boy. I fiddled with my fingers, slightly nervous for no apparent reason.

"Huh? Ummm.....yeah,sure I'm ok......just enjoying the scenery." Another thing Flash learned about himself was that he was very uncomfortable around girls,especially the pretty ones,and this girl seemed to do the trick."Hey,I'm Flash,Son of Hermes...I think." Flash said with embarrassment and slight blushing.He lifted up his right sleeve to reveal his wicked looking....Caduceus,that's what it was called. Flash examined the tattoo to find that the symbol he had seen over the Hermes cabin was completely different,This one had dragons coiled around the staff,not snakes. And the wings were sharp-edged lines that looked sort of like a row of bones.It was mysterious,yet fascinating to look at. Flash suddenly felt awkward showing it to the girl,but he hoped he impressed her,she was very beautiful to look at in the sun and all.*Stop it* thought Flash,*Your on a mission,not a date.* He smiled at the girl and let go of his sleeve .

"I'm Mia, daughter of Apollo," I said. I was a little surprised when he showed me his tattoo, but thought it was kind of cute. He smiled at me, and I looked away, slightly blushing. "So, what do you mean by, "I think?" I asked curiously. I hoped this boy hadn't gone through memory loss like me. It stunk. Not knowing your past, and being down-right clueless about who you were.

"Yeah,I mean.....I'm not really sure,I also suffered from memory loss,so....I'm not sure of alot of things." Flash searched her eyes,knowing somehow she knew the feeling.Flash suddenly trusted Mia,fully.She was the nicest person he met since the wake up,and the most strikingly beautiful, Flash now learned he was a softy with girls, and felt as if Mia was his new love interest. Maybe he should slow down though, he was taking this a little to far,like Tony Carson.There again he had remembered that man, and felt as he suddenly knew alot about him....Flash stared off again, searching his mind for broken memories that may never be fully repaired.

"I suffered from memory loss too. For the past year, I've been completely clueless as to who I was," I said. I looked down at my hands. I thought this boy was nice, and really good looking. I didn't know what to think. I had guessed he already had a girlfriend, by his looks. If not, I would be surprised nobody had snatched him up. I smiled at the thought. "All I knew was my name," I added. I looked back out at the water, and took off my shoes. I put my feet in the sand, enjoying the warmth of the sand.

Kristina walked along the beach slowly. She was holding her flip flops in her hand as she looked out into the water. Since she lived in Ohio, she didn't get to go to a beach very often, so she came here as much as possible. She had noticed two fellow campers talking not too far off, but she didn't feel like introducing herself yet. She was content to soak in the sun and glance over at the sun every once in a while. Kristina had no desire to be the first to begin dialogue, she usually let others handle that. She wasn't scared, or shy, she just felt no need to be a chatter box. Who wanted to hear the life story of someone they just met?

Her chocolaty brown hair was tucked into an over-sized hat that shaded her face from the sun. A few strands had come loose and framed her face. Kristina looked at the boy again and waved, smiling slightly.

Flash looked over to see a girl waving at him, it was very strange and he wondered if he knew her from somewhere in his hazy past.He didn't know what else to do,so he waved back awkwardly, then took a seat beside Mia and smiled."All I remembered was my name when i woke up too." He stared out toward the sea and the mountainous islands I'm the distance.

I saw a girl wave at Flash, and got slightly jealous. Wait, he's not my boyfriend, so why am I jealous. I sighed, examining the pretty girl. That's when Flash awkwardly waved back at the girl. A small wave of relief flooded over me. When he sat next to me, I felt myself get happier. "Well at least I know I'm not alone," I said with a smile. I had realized that butterflies had now appeared, and gave me that feeling. I blushed, but kept smiling.

Flash saw her smile and blush, so he did too. Maybe he could help him around camp, and show him around and stuff. He would like that.Flash looked at her."Yeah....I guess I'm not alone." Flash took hold of Mia's hand nervously.

When he took my hand, I could say I was more than nervous. My heart went a thousand miles an hour, but much to my surprise, I didn't blush. I only smiled. I laced my fingers through his, and squeezed his hand gently. That's when I realized I may actually like this guy, without even knowing him for that long.

Flash couldn't remember if he every had a girl friend before, but this felt like his first. Flash was extremely nervous and stiff." I.....really like you Mia." Flash suddenly felt nervous and looked over to see the strange girl staring at him with the stare of death. Flash had a strange feeling that the girl wasn't here for just ocean scenery.Flash suddenly felt more uncomfortable.

"I like you too Flash," I said with a slight smile. I was nervous, and could tell he was too. Or, even uncomfortable. As an attempt to try and make him loosen up, I put my head on his shoulder, closing my eyes in content. I tried to ignore the girl, not to be rude, but to try to focus on Flash and I. I sighed, happy I had found someone I could relate to, and like.

Flash laughed a bit, the girl's reaction was entertaining. Flash kissed Mia on the head as she lay her head on his shoulder.

Kristina glanced over and saw the boy and girl cuddling. She wasn't expecting this. Perhaps they had taken the wave the wrong way. She sighed, getting angry with herself. But now they were glancing at her, and she suddenly realized she was glaring. She wasn't annoyed at them, but merely embarrassed. She didn't think it was a good time to go say 'hello', so she smiled at the girl and turned away. She wasn't really sure how they were going to react. Even though she'd been coming here for five summers, she wasn't used to people. Was she supposed to apologize for watching?

I smiled, when he kissed my head. I never felt like this before, or maybe I did... I just didn't remember. I just knew I felt different around Flash. I really felt for him. Oh how cliché it sounded. I held back a laugh at the thought. I smiled at the girl, being friendly.

Flash saw the girl and felt her embarrassment. She was quiet just like Flash and wasn't good around people. So Flash walked over and sat by her."Hey.......umm....How's it goin? You, ummm.......Enjoying the beach? I know I like it, but it's not as spectacular as the forest to me, I'm just.......like one of those weird nature...guys, ya' know?" Flash smiled warm and friendly.He hated starting conversations,but he was good at it.

Kristina looked up at the boy. She smiled politely. "Yeah. I don't get to see beaches unless I'm here, so, it's great." She shrugged. "Forests are nice." She glanced at the girl, who was smiling at her. All of a sudden she felt embarrassed, like a little kid they were entertaining even though they didn't want to. She blushed. "I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to interrupt anything. I just don't like started conversations, and then..." She shrugged. "I'll leave if you want, it's alright."

I watched as he walked over to the girl. He talked to her, about something I couldn't understand. I looked back out to the waves, smiling. I was never too outgoing, I was usually the shy one. I now wondered why I hadn't been shy with Flash. Maybe because it was love-at-first-sight, an annoying voice in my head said. I rolled my eyes and smiled.

It was as if Flash could see inside her, he somehow knew the feeling of not being wanted and alone. Mia distracted Flash from his memory block,while this girl brought him closer to understanding. She was like a reflection of him.Flash suddenly grabbed her arm."Don't leave! Tell me your name." Flash said with a sudden urgency as he stared with intensity into her eyes.

"Wha...?" Kristina stared at his in amazement. She still wasn't used to being ordered around by someone her age. Her instinct was to pull away, but he was giving her such a pleading look. "Umm, all right, I'll stay." She relaxed a little. "I'm Kristina, who are you?" At this point, she was convinced that the girl was his girlfriend, so she felt awkward. She felt like perhaps she shouldn't have even come here tonight, it would have made things easier.

Flash let go of her arm."I'm Flash,I'm a writer,I love books and nature,adventure,and.....my favorite sport is mountain biking,and I was in a war with Tony Carson and his adopted son Ben and I somehow helped them." Flash was amazed at his memory, everything was coming back, and in vivid imagery too! Flash suddenly felt he should follow this girl. Until he looked back at Mia, he couldn't just leave her, and he was on the verge of a relationship too. But his mission seemed more important around Kristina. Flash was suddenly confused.

I saw the look in his eyes, and knew my decision. "Go," I said simply to Flash. I turned away, slightly disappointed that it was this girl that was destined to help him. At this point, I guess I was used to being left behind as everything moved forward. Never the one to keep up, I thought. I didn't cry, or even show the disappointment in my eyes or face. I just looked blankly out to the waves.

Kristina was taken aback by this...informative introduction. All those times when she joked about people telling their life story up front, it'd never really happened. They'd just talked too much. She laughed nervously. "O-ok. Nice to know." A war? Who was this guy anyway? She tilted her head, considering him. He certainly was open about himself. It was strange. Was she supposed to understand anything she'd said? "I'm something of an artist, when I have the time. Books are interesting, nature is what I'm used to and I have no clue what you said beyond that." Kristina clamped her hand over her mouth. She was flirting. She was flirting? This was not good. Not good at all.

"I'm sorry." She said, jumping up. "I've taken up too much of your time already." She looked at the girl and yelled: "I'm so sorry!"

"No need to apologize," I said back. Gripping my quiver in my hand, I closed my eyes. Sighing, I looked back at the waves blankly. At least he was remembering things. Rubbing the back of my head, I laid back in the sand. I breathed deeply.
