IT WAS RAINING. Hard. The cold, tiny droplets bore upon the camp, sending even Poseidon kids running into the forest for shelter. But Damon, lone Damon, was swimming in the lake during the rain. This was one of his weird habits. Inside the lake, he was warmer than outside. So why get out? Damon did, in fact, at times, prefer himself more than strangers. But, he was lonely. Barely anybody talked to him, except Ryann, so he wasn't really used to attention. Damon looked up at the sky, feeling the cold sting his face. A while away, though, he spotted a figure through the fog. Why would anybody brave the weather to come here? But Damon looked back, if only subtly, the slightest bit curious to who it was.

Rachel walked to the lake in the rain. Rain, after all, was her favorite type of weather. Maybe because with the thunder and the lightning and her father being the Lord of the Sky, but she loved it. Usually when it rains, she goes out to the lake to take a short swim. Through the fog, she could have sworn she saw someone in the lake. That was impossible. No one is ever usually out here. She was already in her bathing suit, her top on and a pair of denim shorts. She walked barefoot, felling the cold, wet mud the rain made with the dirt on her feet. She don't believe in shoes. She thinks it's foolish idea. She walked closer to the lake... She did see a boy. She stood beside the lake. "Can I join you?" She asked politely, with a smile.

Damon ducked in and out of the water, not noticing the figure coming closer. Coming up for air, he noticed it was a girl. A cute one. In fact, he knew the girl. They never conversed, or even smiled at each other. But Damon, the shy one, knew this girl. He had a crush on her- Rachel Ann Biersack. "Uh, sure," he said in his Texan accent as he drifted closer to her. Good thing the fog was heavy, or she would see his nervousness. Damon ran his fingures through his short, light brown hair.

She smiled at him. She though she knew who he was. She saw him around a lot. She waded into the lake, shocked at how warm it was. She sighed and sunk neck deep into the water. Her brown hair floated around her, pushed it aside and smiled at him. "So, tell me, have we met before, I know I've seen you around before. I just can't remember where." She said putting both of her hands behind her neck. "I'm Rachel Biersack." She spoke with a friendly smile.

Damon returned the small but effective smile. He did a lazy backsrooke until he was a few feet away from Rachel. "Hello," he replied. "I'm Damon Brenner." His hair was matted down to his forehead, and made him look even cuter than usual. Connected with his radiating smile, and his full appearance, he seemed friendly. Not the loner he was- no, is.

She couldn't help but to keep smiling at him. He was adorable in her eyes. "Nice to meet you Damon." She smiled. Then she thought a little more about whether she knew him or not. After a minute or so, it clicked. Everyone says he's a loner. He sure didn't seem like that to her. His smile was amazing. She figured maybe he was like a silent Aphrodite child, but she had to ask. "So, Damon..Who's your parent?" She asked swimming a little closer to him.

Damon looked down at the water, not wanting to tell her. Peitarchia? Goddess of obedience? Can somebody say weird? But, he had to tell her. His gut told him that, if this girl liked him, she had to find out sooner or later. "Peitarchia," Damon replied. "Goddess of obedience." Looking at her, he gave a small smile. "I can control animals and stuff."

She smiled at him. Peitarchia? Sounded cool to her. "You can?! That's awesome!" She spoke with a smile. "I wish I could control animals! That would be beast!" She said with a small laugh. Then immediately became quiet. She absolutely HATED her laugh. Then, she figured she should tell him her God parent, since he told her his. It was only fair. "Daughter of Zeus, at your service." She smiled, taking a small curtsy. Usually, once people found out she was a Big Three demigod, they would respect her and bow down. She didn't like it. She wanted to be treated like any other half-blood here.

Damon smiled, then laughed softly with her. This conversation with his lifetime crush was going along better than he thought. He thought this was a train wreck waiting to happen. But, apparently, she thought his parent was awesome! Or, in her terms, "beast". Which was more than you could say about most people. Damon leaned back on his own hands as he listened to Rach. "Zeus. Cool," he said interested. "Must be awesome." Damon did not have a hint of wistfullness in his voice.

She shrugged. "Eh. It has it's ups and downs." She told him going under the water. She swam towards him and came back up right in front of him. She smiled at him and pushed her bangs out of her face. He was extremely cute. She kept smiling at him. Then she stopped because she didn't want him to think she was some sort of freak. She stayed in front of him and said "Well..." and she smiled again.

Damon smiled again. She probably thinks I'm a freak. . . he thought to himself. But, it was awesome just the same. The rain started to let up, and the sky gave way to blue. Was it his time to tell her how he felt? In the light, Rach looked perfect. Definiteely perfect.

She smiled at Damon. He was super cute. He seemed really sweet too. She played with her hair and smiled while standing in front of him. It was odd, she never play with her hair. Especially in front of a guy. She smacked her hand away from her hair, looked at him and giggled for her silliness. She continued to smile sheepishly.
