Cole raised an eyebrow but smiled. "I'm not lying," he said sincerely. "You really are pretty, Aria." How could she think he was lying? If anything, that was the most truthful thing he's ever said.

I smile " Eh, daughters of Aphrodite are pretty," I say, I was sometimes jealous of daughters of Aphrodite, they had it all. they had the money, they had the clothes, they had the beauty and they some of them were so stuck up, it wasn't fair.

"Sure, they're pretty," he shrugged. "But you're pretty both outside and and inside. You're not stuck up like some of the Aphrodite kids." He smiled at her while his arm was still around her shoulders.

I blush " Thanks " I say smiling even though I didn't really believe him, flattery was nice though. Some daughters of Aphrodite were nice and were different from their half siblings.

He laughed and gave Aria a kiss on the cheek. "I'm not kidding," he said quietly. Aria was definitely not like most girls. And Cole liked that.

I smile " I believe you " I say softly, I kinda did but at the same time people did just say things to make people happy even though they didn't really mean what they said

Cole smiled at her then looked over to the lake. "What do you want to do, Aria?" he asked smiling. More and more people were coming to the barbecue and so the peacefulness was somewhat fading.

" Not sure, maybe we could look around a little " I say excitedly, there were a few booths up and the fortune teller booth looked interesting, there were a few people crowded around it and I didn't like crowds so I'd wait till the booth was empty, but there were a lot of other things to do in the meantime

" Hi Jonas, it's a great day for a barbeque, " I say smiling, there were a lot of people at the barbeque and it was a nice day, the weather was absolutely perfect for an outdoor social event, it was a nice sunny day

I stand up and smile, I take Cole's hand and blush, everything was going the way I had wanted it too, This was definitely the best day ever.

" So what do you want to do " I ask curiously, there were a lot of things to do, there was the fortune teller and food and a bunch of other stuff .

Cole held on to Aria's hand and he led them over to the side of the lake. Knowing she couldn't swim, Cole gave her a reassuring squeeze. "I wont let you fall," he said.

I sighed and stared at the water warily, I wasn't really sure why I hated the water I just did, I felt unsafe in water,

Cole wrapped his arm around Aria. "If you're with me, I'll keep you safe," he said quietly while looking straight into her eyes. They continued to walk and Cole kept his arm around her.

" Thanks " I say kissing him on the cheek, it was nice that he respected my fears, a lot of people thought they were silly and teased me about my fear of water and that annoyed me, but I did feel safe when I was with Cole, maybe one day I would get over my fear of water.

Cole couldn't help but blush when Aria Kissed his cheek. Already, his mind was planning on what he should do for a date. "Aria, what's your favorite color?" he asked. "Random, I know, but I was curious."

" Aqua and purple, they go good together " I say smiling, I wanted to learn to swim one day, it looked like fun, it was just that being in water felt unsafe to me for some reason, but I really want to get over my dumb fear

Cole smiled as he kept the fact in his head. He kept Aria close to him. "I agree," he said. "They do look good together." He noticed Aria was looking at the water. "Hey, you okay?"

"You're not a wimp," he assured her. Sneakily he was leading them little bit closer to the water. "You're just a little afraid," he continued, smiling. Suddenly he ran over to the shallow part of the lake bringing Aria with him.

I shriek as I realized that we were in the shallow part of the lake, " This isn't so bad, But no deeper " I say, I wasn't to bad with shallow water, But I hated deep water because I couldn't swim and I had almost drowned a year ago trying to tread water with a stupid mortal swim instructor

Cole smiled. "Don't worry, I won't pull you any farther," he laughed. Somewhat quickly, he got behind Aria and splashed her back.

I laugh as he splashes me back, I gently splash water in his face, the water wasn't so bad, the deep water was the only fear I had left, that and the Ocean, I was definitely scared of the Ocean water, I'd almost drowned when I was ten and I'd never gotten over that, the waves would pull me away, the Ocean was my biggest fear.
