Camp Barbeque

I tried to resist but I was starving and made a quick pass by the food table and almost took it all, I tried eating as decent as possible while being this hungry and finished it all in about ten minutes which was sort of embarrassing but suprisingly I didn't care. In the end I was sitting down next to the lake whistling an extremely happy tune waiting for the food to digest.

I walked down to the beach and grabbed a thick, beefy burger, some fries, and a milkshake. I sat down on a wooden bench and waited for some of my friends to show up. I had spent the morning playing basketball by myself my they did other activities that I didn't feel like doing.

I grabbed a Mountain Dew and sat down on a wooden bench. I had had a stomach ache all day and had spent the time lying in my bunk. I didn't feel like spending the evening there, so I had come down to the lake to the barbeque, even though I didn't have any real friends. Just aquaintances you could call them. I rubbed my sore arm. A couple days ago I had been fighting and had gotten a long scrape. It was still sore. The food looked really good, but I didn't feel like eating it. I decided to stick with my Mountain Dew.

I went down from the dinning pavilion to the lake. I got a nice, big pepperoni pizza. If anyone wants to know, I'm a big eater. I walked over and sat next to Blake Jacobs, one of my friends. I punched him on the shoulder to get his attention. "What'd you do this morning? I was wrestling kids from the Athena cabin in the arena. They're such wimps."

One of my younger, Ares friends sat down next to me with a pepperoni pizza and punched me on the shoulder. "I was playing basketball by myself. My cabin mates were off trying to help the Hermes cabin raid the camp store. I didn't feel like going."

I saw a popular Ares kid sit down near a boy nearby. I scooted over on the bench to eavesdrop on their conversation. I had debated going to a birthday party at my cabin this evening but had decided not to go.

I heard a noise behind us and turned around to see an annoying girl from the Hecate cabin spying on our conversation. She would've gone flying into the river if I had punched her a little harder. As it is she flew several feet into a tree. "It's a shame when people try to spy on us," I told Blake. "That's what you get!" I yelled at the girl.

I heard a slight noise behind us and didn't think much of it until Ethan turned around and she went flying into a tree. I sort of winced as she hit the tree with a crack. Ethan turned towards me and made fun of her. I sort of felt sorry for her but I wasn't going to ruin a helpful relationship with an Ares kid. They're sort of helpful when you're in a fight. I glanced over at her, she was groaning. I looked back at Ethan. "Maybe we should take her to the infirmary." I felt sort of bad, even though she was eavesdropping. It's not like we were going to tell secrets or something.

I wasn't prepared for the smack by the Ares kid. I didn't know a kid that was like 3 years younger than me could hit so hard. I smacked into a tree and heard a loud crack. Pain filled my body. I couldn't help but groan as I tried to bite my tongue. The Apollo kid seemed to want to help me, but he seemed regretful to leave the Ares kid, who was laughing at me. I tried to crawl back over to the bench and tried to ignore the Aphrodite kids who were screaming because my Mountain Dew had landed on them. I almost laughed.

He might have felt sorry for her, but I didn't. He suggested taking her to the infirmary. "Nah," I said, "Serves her right, she shouldn't go walking around eavesdropping anymore." I laughed. "How's your burger. Kind of looks like the ones that I used to see in Texas at a restaurant called Mighty Fine."

" Yeah, there's always a place to sit " I say smiling, it was pretty crowded, but there was most likely at least one place to sit.

I blush, " So what do you want to do " I ask curiously, more and more people were starting to show up.

Getting bored at the lake, I walked back toward the camp fire. I arrived just in time to see a girl maybe a year older than me go flying past me into the tree. I gasped as I heard a loud crack. I glanced over to see an Ares kid laughing and saying "That's what you get!" I watched as the girl crawled back over to the bench. As my temper grew, my eyes turned red. I marched over to the Ares kid. He looked two years younger than me. But I knew better then to underestimate an Ares kid. I knew I was going to get hurt pretty bad. But I couldn't think straight. "Now I am not asking for a fight, just apologize." What I really wanted to say was How dare you. You could have just asked her to stop listening! You hurt her badly! You jerk! But I didn't. My eyes burned bright red and I started feeling lightheaded.

A new girl marched over to me and Ethan and told him to apologize. "I should've stopped him, but it all happened so fast. I think she was eavesdropping on us. I should've noticed and stopped Ethan." Ethan glared at me fiercely. I prepared myself to get smacked. I glanced over again at the injured girl.

My vision was blurring and the pain grew intense. I forced myself not to black out. She demanded that the boys apologize. The Apollo kid did and then I blacked out.

"You don't have to apologize. HE does!" I glared at the Ares kid. " Even if she was-" I noticed the girl had blacked out and my eyes turned back to green. I gasped and ran over to her. I slung her arm over my shoulder and tried to hoist her up. I could barely lift her. I knew I needed someone strong. I hated asking for help, but if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to get her far with my Achilles ankle. I looked up at the two boys with all the charm I had."I am sorry. I really am. I need your help.....please?" By now my ankle was killing me. I whimpered a little.

I take another sip of tea. "I'm so glad you said yes to this. You look absolutely beautiful." Noticing the bonfire, I pick up the roll and make a shot for it. I was still a bit iffy about the war of the gods and everything. The titans seemed more likely to win. But until I made up my mind about that, I would make offering just to keep myself from being smited.

I blush " So who do you think is going to win the war " I murmur quietly, I was curious, did he think camp would win or did he think the titans would win

"Donno. Right now I'm thinking the titans. They seem to have every advantage."I lean really close to her ear and barley whisper, "Are you siding with Kronos?" It was a weird question; If she said 'No' I could mark myself as dead. But I trusted Kristen. Maybe she wouldn't spill the beans.

I smiled slyly " Yes, I've already joined, but if you tell anyone I'll have to kill you " I say teasingly even though the last part was slightly meant as a warning, I knew the titans were going to win, I'd seen with my own eyes the monsters that they had on their side, there was no way they could lose

That sealed the deal for me. Where ever Kristen went, I would follow. "Can I join?" I voice was still as low as it could get. If anyone found out about us, well...

Talk to Kronos. From what I heard, that last person that talked to Kronos had their face freeze mid sneeze. "You know where he is? I'm hoping to leave tonight." Good thing it's pretty easy to hide fear when you're whispering.

I could not belive that a girl was getting in the way. "Get outof the way or you will black out like the other girl. I turned to Blake. "Don't apoligize like that again,since you are my friend I won't give you brain damagebut don't do that again!"

I went over to help the new girl pick up the other girl who'd blacked out. I knew I was risking a friendship, but I had to help her. "Let's take her to the infirmary. I'm an Apollo kid. It'll be easier for me to heal her there then here where it's all noisy."

I drifted in and out of painful consiousness. I was being lifted.
