First gander at CHB

I was sitting in my tree when I notced a boy a few years younger than me.I jumped of my tree and approached him."You know talking to yourself makes you look crazy."I said jokingly."Im Minerva but everyone calls me Mini.You?"I asked him smoothing over my Alkaline Trio Tee.

"This is camphalf blood.A safe haven for the children of the gods.Or well at laest it used to be before the war but never mind."I said to him."So do you know who your godly parent is or do I have to explain?"I asked him.

"A lot of people never find out."I said bluntly."And Im not joking.And it depends on who your godly parent is to have powers.Im a daughter of Hecate so I can do magic."I said pointing out my necklace wich was a miniature version of my mothers symbol of power.I pulled out a water bottle from my mini-bookbag and handed it to him."Drink up."I said kind of concerned.

I took the bottle from her and took a long drink. "So what happens if I never find out who my parent is? I know it's got to be a guy, but that doesn't tell me much. Do they like come to America every few months and say which kids are theirs'?" I felt very alone all of a sudden but I resigned not to show it. "But seeing that this IS a 'Camp' there the usual hikes, canoe races and tug-of-wars? I mean besides the fact we are all half god this is a normal place."

I gave him a simpathetic look."They are in America.And usually they just claim you whenever they have time.I guess its kind of normal,there are the angst ridden teenagers, but we also have sword fighting,archery,pegasus riding lessons.And we are in the middle of a war with a titan but other than that its preety normal."I said brightly.This was no normal camp.

"In America? Ok cool. That's real sweet of 'em to tell you they're your parent ' when they have time'. So do I get to meet some more people? How many are currently here? Who's the director? who are my cabin mates? or does that have to do with my godly parent? 'Uh oh' I thought, 'To many questions.'

"I have no idea how many campers there are.The director is chiron and yes your canin depends on your parent but since you arent claimed you stay at the hermes cabin."I said calmly.I was used to the continous string of questions.Most kids here were ADHD and that was just normal.I wasnt Adhd and it kinda got on my nerves.

Chiron. OK, maybe I can meet him? I guess he'll know everything I need to ask. Well, seeing that you have no idea how many campers there are, there must be a lot. Where does Chiron stay? And where is your cabin?" I started to feel more relaxed. Every noob question I threw out, she an equally good answer. "By the way how many siblings do you have? Or half siblings I guess you'd say."

"Chirons usually in the big house"I pointed the big house out,"by the end of the day.My cabin is number fiteen.I have no idea how many siblings I have but the ones Ive met aint half bad."I answered.Why did it feel like we were competing when we talked?Dont know and Dont care.

Well maybe we could go over there, to the big house, and see if Chiron is there? I'd like to meet him. It seemed like a good idea to get to know everyone around and get my feet wet. Yeah, let’s go ahead over there!

"I dont think hes there now.Hes usually at the archery range by know.And I have to stay here.Im kinda the unofficial welcoming comitte.I have to stay here for a little longer."I said apologetically.I wouldnt mind giving him a tour of cam its just that I had other prioritys.

Uh oh, I was thinking. It would be fun to walk up to somebody and say hello! But they think I’m a spy or something and they have a sword…. Yeah! Sure! I understand how you have to do your job. I think I’ll just head over to the cabins. I liked her and already kind of knew her and didn’t want to go, but something was telling me I should simply move away. Where do you suggest I go? You know to meet a few people?

"You should first get a bunk or bed or whatevers avalaible in the Hermes cabin since you arent claimed.There are tons of people there so you shouldnt have a problem meeting people.Im ususally on the hill or in the arena if you need me."I said kindly.I fiddled with my bun,trying to get some leaves out of it.Running through the trees,or rather on top,was fun but I always managed to get leaves in my hair.

She was kind of cute pulling the leaves out of her hair. But too old for me. Ok. Then I guess I’ll head on over there. Where is the…Herms cabin? Just then something flew over-head. A hawk? A plane? No, it was a flying horse. Woa! Is that a flying horse? Are we being attacked?

I stared at him like he had mental issues.Then remembering he was new I shook my head."Its a pegagusus.They like to fly over here sometimes."I said bluntly.

Ah! That explains things.! Haha! Acham. Right. So you've got one? Trying to look at ease, I twirl my ahead around taking in the view. Do they talk? Or breathe fire I asked seriously. I was already getting used to not being surprised by surprising things.

"Im not welcome in the sky."I said calmly but there was a hidden anger behind my calm.."They just fly.I think children of posiedon can talk to them though."I said sounding a bit more cheerful.

Why can’t you go into the sky? Am I not allowed in the sky either? Does the sky do this often? Can I talk to them also? Why do only children of Poseidon get to talk to them? Maybe they aren’t so safe. Yeah I don’t think I want to ride one anyway. Now I feel like I’m making a fool out of myself. Oh well. Just then I felt something vibrating in my pocket. For a second I thought some monster was in my pants; but I realized it was my cell phone. I took it out and saw it was a signal that it was low on battery. I don’t suppose anyone has a charger that will work for this?

"Im a daughter of a son of hades.I dont know if your allowed in the sky though you probably are.Posiedon created horses so it would make sense for his children to talk to them."I said grining slightly.When he pulled out the phone I extended my arm palm up."No phones allowed once you pass the border.Or well phones that are on."I said trying to sound as less bossy as possible.

So I can't keep it? Oh well, that's ok. I don't really have anybody to call.I handed the phone to her. so where is this Hermes cabin? I'll go see if I can get bunked Again I looked around.

I mumbled,"apaga" and the phone magically shut off.Not off for good but he would need a new battery."You can keep it just dont use it."I said handing it back to him."The hermes cabin is over there."I said pointing it out.It was the most normal looking cabin among the others.

I was really impressed by the magic move. Um, nice words. And thanks for the cell phone. Well, that was the Hermes cabin, I thought looking at it. Nice place. I guess I'll head over I walked down the hill a little way then turned. Hey if you ever want to hang out over a pizza, I'll be free. I finshed walking down the hill smiling.
