I'm Annalie and I just got claimed

I walk into the room. There is a man sitting there in a wheelchair. I guess he's human after all. There goes my thoughts about him being a satyr or a centaur. Well, better get on with it. "Hi, my name is Annalie Baker and I just got claimed by Athena. I went to the Athena cabin and a kid there told me I should come here to introduce myself and find out what to do next." I stood there nervously waiting for an answer.

Lifting his eyes from the novel he had been reading, Chiron turned his wheelchair and smiled at the girl who introduced herself as Annalie, eyes crinkling around the edges. "Hello, Annalie. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood! I am Chiron, the activities director. Normally, Mr. D, the camp director, would be here with me but he was called to Olympus for something just a few hours ago. You will have to meet him later on." He said, scrutinizing the demigod before him as he spoke. "Ah, would you like a tour around camp, then?" He inquired, placing his book on a desk near him.

"That would be great but if you don't have time than that's okay, I'll just find my way around myself." This man seemed nice, and who was Mr. D to get called to Olympus for business? I guessed I'd find out later. "What kind of activities do we so here?"

"How thoughtful. I could easily get another camper to show you around, if you'd like." He said, raising an eyebrow. "Oh, we do all types of things around camp. It's been rather... busy as of late, but camp life can still be relatively normal. Well, as normal as things can be at a camp like this." Chiron paused and thought for a moment when he realized he hadn't really answered her question. "You can take lessons, ride pegasi, participate in camp events, meet other campers, train, there are many things you can do around camp." He listed, rubbing his shoulder.

Normal as things can be at a camp like this? I thought. Well, maybe everyone here got chased like monsters like I did. And we train? I wondered what he meant by that. "What do we train for?" I asked Chiron.

"What do you train for?" Chiron echoed, furrowing his eyebrows and fishing through his mind. "Why, to protect yourself of course! And to help defeat Kronos some day - but in the meantime, you train to successfully fend off monsters and to learn how to defend yourself out there." He answered, offering a smile to Annalie.

Oh, he must mean the kind of monsters that chased me to this camp. "Alright, I'll just find a camper to show me around. You must be really busy," she told him as she left the room.
