James Valentine at the beach

I watched as he got to the serpents head and stabbed in its weakpoint.That sea serpent had tried to kill me about three times not counting today.Who knew monsters could hold grudges."James!"I screamed as I saw him go under the water,the sea serpent on top of him.

Luckily for James, the serpent turned to dust before it fell onto him. James emerged from the water and swam toward the shore again. James ran over to Mini. "Are you O.K.?" He asked for what felt like the hundrenth time today.

"Im fine!But what about you!Last time that thing almost ate my dad!"I said histercly.That thing had tried to kill me whenever I was having a good day.I sighed and took of my dager holster pointing out a jagged scar that reached from my knee to my waist."The real reason my dad sent me to camp was because we were attacked by ecidna AND the sea serpent.This,"I said gesturing at my scar,"was her little good-bye present."

James sat down, breathing hard and coughing. When he fell off the sea serpent he had hit hard. James thought he might have cracked a rib. James laughed fakely. "I'm fine. So how long has that thing been folowing you?" James asked as he put a hand on his ribs, after sheathing his knives.

I saw him clutch his ribs so I passed him a canteen of nectar that was lying next to my clothes."It started following me when my dad accedentaly ended up in circes island and broke her loom.Ever since then she sent the serpant after me and my dad as a curse.No matter how many times we kill it itll just come back madder than ever.Its been going on since I was Eight and I got this from ecidna."I geastured to my scar again.No matter how often I magicaly made it disappear it kept coming back.

James looked at her scar, after he drunk enough nectar to cure his rib. "Thanks. Looks like we both have some good battle scars." James laughed and rubbed the scar on his face. "Don't worry each time it comes back you'll just have to knock it down again."

"I know.Im always on the lookout for a curse breacker though."I said.I watched as his ribs healed and I felt better knowing my problems hadnt caused him any harm."Today was crazy."I said looking out at the ocean again.I was gonna get rid of this curse no matter what.

"I tried that last christmas.Not only did she send the loom back she sent a note saying all my decendents would be cursed too.Shes no a very nice person."I said to Ali.I was grateful tha she was at least trying to help but I didnt need ideas I needed a good curse breacker.

"Maybe you could help me reaserch on curse breakers?"I asked.I had tried before but I didnt know how to research so I just ended up watching videos of harry potter parodies.The other option was going on a quest and confronting Circe but I ha never been on a quest and I certainly didnt know how to get one.

James listened to them talked. "Did you try saying sorry?" James asked, thinking of the simplest solution.

"Yeah.Then I had to fight of a puma and two parrots.Shes my least favorite sister."I said to james.The whole curse thing had started with my dad but now it was my problem.Circe was not very happy with failure."Youd think since we were sisters shed forgive me but apperantly family dosent matter to her."I said wondering what was her problem.The simplest solution didnt work so what would?

James frowned. "She doesn't sound like a very nice person. Definately not someone I'd wanna meet." James laughed and stretched. "Well at least you won't have to deal with that thing for awhile. I'm sure it'll stay dead for a long time."

I looked at her puzzled."My mom?I havent seen her in years and why would she help me?Im not that special."I said still confused.I dont think my mom has that much interest in her kids.I looked down at my necklace.It was shaped like hecates symbol of power.I grabbed it and closed my eyes.My mom is a touchy subject.

James looked Mini again. "Why wouldn't your mom help you out?" James asked puzzled. "I mean, I'm sure she thinks your really special. Why wouldn't she?" James looked at her necklace.

"Tricky?"I said small smile forming on my face.Magic was half based on control and trickery.BUT Ali is a daughter of Athena so I dont see why not.I thought back to when I met my mom.She had come to the mardigrae three years ago to watch me do my baton twirling.

"Didnt helios fade away?And the curse is a lot harder to get rid of than just apolygizing to Circe or asking my mom for help.We might as well kill the sea serpent a milloin times but hell keep comingback."I said exasperated.I closed my eyes fighting back tears.Half of my town had been killed because of my curse.I still couldnt get the image out of my head.I was only six at the time and yet I still remembered every horible detail.

James scooted over toward Mini. "Are you alright?" He asked as he put his hand on her shoulder. "Bad memory involving that serpent?" James looked at her with caring eyes.

I looked up at james and smiled.He knew how to make me feel so safe."Half my town got killed by that thing when it rammed into the church wich was unluckily placed at the waters edge.I was six and scared and I barely got out of the building before it colapsed.Unlike everybody else inside."I said hugging my knees.Circe had taken a lot away from me.How could anybody be that cruel?
