The blonde exhailed softly, as she settled herself at the starting point of the track. Oval shaped as any other would be, it circled all the other on-going events - archery, wrestling, sword fighting, martial-arts, etc - and would provide her s good vantage point for getting to know the skills of her fellow camp-mates. No, her fellow demigods, she corrected herself. This was no normal summer camp, and though she had never been what anyone else would call normal, now she had ascended to quite a whole new level of weird. Shaking the un-needed thoughts from her mind, the tall woman focused herself on the task at hand.

After bending down to check the laces of her track shoes, the emerald-eyed woman situated herself in a runner's starting position. Aside from her black track shoes, Haruka wore navy blue track shorts, and a pale yellow running tank; the number 10 could be seen on both the front and back. This had been her track uniform in high school; her track uniform in middle school had been orange shorts and a lime green tank. She thanked God that she had only needed to wear that for a year; the colors clashes so horribly together that even one who gave as little regard to fashion as she could tell it was horrid. Ironically, in both schools she had been number ten.

Upon giving herself the mental 'ready' command, the blonde raised up onto the balls of her feet. One leg was tucked under herself, while the other was just behind her body, stretched out. Her hands - rather, her fingers - were steepled against the ground beside her forward foot. She counted down in her mind, emerald eyes fixed solely upon the track infront of herself. 3... 2... 1... GO! With the word ringing in her ears like s gunshot is so closely resembled, and was meant to replace, Haruka rocked her weight forward, and sprung into a run. Driving her legs and arms, she propelled herself forwards, and for a moment, was lost in the rush of power the speed and the feeling of the suddenly-chill winds gave her.

Then, she refocusded upon her task of analizing the other atendee's of the camp, all without breaking stride or speed.

I had felt that my life partner was at the track practicing and so I had decided to go check how she was doing. I walked over to the arena and when I saw her I smiled. She certainly was fast but of course she was this fast. I had seen her run countless times before so her speed was no surprise to me. I continued to watch her as she ran wondering if she noticed I was here through our connection.

Around the oval track she raced, her lungs burning only slightly, as the world blurred past. Of course, she manipulated the wind around herself, making it easier for her to see those she was studying. Yes, all looked strong, but sone were stronger still; some sly and cunning, some strategic, though not that good on the battlefield. All had their strengths and weaknesses; Haruka knew that, should anything happen, Chaos would have a very hard time getting anything done here. Unless, of course, it tried to go after the ones who tended to be in the shadows of others... Much like the children of lesser Gods and Goddeses, of those of Hades.

She shoved that thought away; now was not the time to be thinking such things. Now was the time for recon; she would speak with Michiru later, if she could sneak into Poseidon's cabin after dark, or perhaps if they could meet in their usual place. They needed to be in contact, and with a wince, the blonde noted that she hadn't been very good with that lately. Life here at camp had sitracted her from her mission - almost dangerously so - and she needed to rectify that situation. And she needed to do it NOW. ...Or, maybe just after she was done with her run; yes, then she'd go find Michiru. Their bond would lead her, she had no doubt of that.

Of course, then said bond flaired to life, startling the emerald-eyed woman's concentration for all of a moment, before she had it regined in once more. She would approche her lover as soon as she was finished. Though, most everyone knows what is said about the best laid plans of mice and men... As she rounded the cruve closest to where Michiru was, Haruka caught sight of the Ocean God's daughter. And oh, what a sight it was. Speaking of sights, that wall looked awfully close - and 'OHMYGOD!!!' was her last, rather girlish, thought, before she became well aquainted with the wall.

The cruch as her nose broke against the stone was something that even made Haruka herself wince. Or, she would have, had she not been trying to keep from screaming in pain. Yes, she could handle pain, but this wasn't something she had felt in a long time. And, in a freaky, morbid, slightly abstract way, she welcomed the pain. Despite how Michiru had healed her, the blonde still felt, to quote a certain singer, "cold as steel, and broken like [she] was never go[ing] to heal." So, when such pain slammed into her full force like this... It made her feel like she wasn't just the cold and unfeeling 'steel woman' she had been for so long.

It reassured her that she was alive, even more than Michiru's heart beating in time with her own could.

I looked at Haruka a bit worried as I ran over to her. I stopped as I neared her and said, "I'm so sorry, Haruka. I didn't mean to cause you to get injured. I recently found something new that I can do with my powers over the water through that might help. Would you like me to try it out for you?"
