| Fletcher Emerson
Fletcher reclined in the seat he had declared his own, knitting his fingers behind his head. The amphitheater was pretty empty - the only times it really had that many people was when there were sing-a-longs or something. He didn't really participate in the singing, but he went anyways. Hey, more chances to target another perfectly unsuspecting chick. Honestly, they should be more wary, considering his reputation and all. Maybe they thought he would change or something, that they'd be able to change him.
Laughable. He would never change. It wasn't as if he enjoyed his rather despicable past time, but he was too far-gone now to change. Maybe he'd get lucky this time though, lucky in this empty amphitheater. Maybe a girl would wander in and give him a chance to work his magic and charm on her. |

| Carly stepped into the amphitheater. She had always enjoyed coming here to think, since it was usually empty when there weren't sing-a-longs. She hummed quietly to herself, not noticing the other person sitting silenly in a seat. She simply sat in the first seat she saw and pulled her book out of her pocket. She had paperback copies of many of her favorite books. It made them easier to carry. This one, like most of her books, was about the past. It was titled "France: Past, Present, and Future". The book was written in French, but she could easily read it. After all, she has spent a year in France with her father. Carly yawned, lifting her head just enough to notice that she had company. Carly studied the boy a moment before she returned to her book. She turned the page with her delicate fingers, making sure not to dammage the pages. | |

| Noticing a girl enter the Amphitheatre, Fletcher straightened up considerably and observed her from afar. She seemed so... innocent - and she didn't seem to notice him at first. Narrowing his moss green eyes, he crossed his arms and leaned back for a moment, unsure as to whether he should make a move or not. If she really was "pure" or something, he knew he would regret it. The flings with all the other girls didn't make him feel guilty at all, but at times, he slipped up and hurt some seriously nice girls. It made his conscience stir, and he hated that. Shaking his head, he decided to find out for himself.
Standing up and jogging quietly down the aisles, he stopped a few seats down from her and paused. "Hey there." He greeted her, smirking slightly. "Do you have a map?" He asked, grinning crookedly.
(( Knowing Carly, she probably does. xD )) |

| Carly continued reading a moment, wanting to finish her paragraph. She then lifted her head, studying the boy curiously. She thought for a moment before she dug through her bag. "I have this map. My dad and I found it in a crashed plane. It dates back to 1676, so it's not very new. But it will get you from point A to point B. What do you need it for?" she asked, curiously tilting her head as she held out the map. She silently wondered how he could know that she would have a map. She often had this with her, since she never knew when she might need it. 'Maybe I should buy a more updated map...one with all the states on it,' she thought as she eyed the old, worn map a moment. It was in generally good condition, which surprised her, since it was at the bottom of the ocean for four hundred years. But her father explained to her that the trunk it was in was generally air tight, so there was little water damage on any thing in it. | |

| Why? Because I keep getting lost in your eyes. Blinking, Fletcher made a face and shook his head. He was... flabbergasted, that was the word. Who brought maps around with them nowadays? Especially if you weren't driving or traveling or anything? Most people took advantage of technology or something, but considering the fact that they were demigods, technology would be out of the question. Or would it? Did iPods or MP3s or anything with little GPS thingers have signals that gave away their positions? Fletcher didn't know (he wasn't even sure if they were GPSs for heaven's sake), he was never really much of a techie guy. He would stick to stealing and dating girls.
Glancing down at the map, he waved his hands. "Ah, no, never mind." He said, fighting to keep himself from stammering a little bit. This was an odd girl, and did she usually have such old stuff? "Let me introduce myself." He started again, regaining his composure and confidence. "Fletcher Emerson, son of Hermes." He said, grinning once more. |

| Carly shrugged her shoulders and put the map away, careful not to damage its delicate structure. "Carly Simmins, Daughter of Thaumas," she explained. Most didn't know who her father was, since he didn't exactly have a lot of children. Her voice was an odd mixture of different accents. She had picked up a bit from every place she stayed, some more prominant than others. Carly kept her deep blue gaze on Fletcher a moment before she turned back to her book. "So...did you have a reason for coming over here? Or was it just to randomly ask me if I have a map? I have a compass if you want it, or maybe a metal detector...of course, I don't have that," she rambled, not bothering to look up from her book. She tucked a bit of her black, wavy hair behind her ear with a soft sigh. She could easily get lost in books like this. The history, the language, the art...it all seemed magnificant to her. | |

| Thaumas? Fletcher's knowledge of Greek mythology wasn't too broad so naturally, he had no idea who the heck that was. He noted that she had this bizarre accent, that would have been cute if it weren't so odd. Some might say that odd was nice, Fletcher at some point in time might have been one of them, but now... Well, things changed. Fletcher changed once and he wouldn't change again. Just the way he was now. Keeping up his smile, he played with his fingers for a little bit before answering her. "Oh, it's nothing. I was going to show you a trick, but I forgot how to do it." He explained, telling the lie as if it were the easiest thing in the world. Most people didn't see through his constant untruths - he was hoping this girl, too, wouldn't be able to see through them. A small white lie to see if he would be able to pull off his other ones. |

| Carly studied him curiously, narrowing her eyes in slight suspicion. After a moment, her shoulders and turned back to her book. She was almost done with it now, since it was a rather small book. She turned to the last page, her dark blue eyes scanning over the words. She then closed the cover and stuffed it back in her pocket. "So...tell me, why is it you're sitting alone?" she asked. Her voice had a pure sense about it, and her innocently curious gaze made her seem like a young child that found wonder and magic in every new thing they saw. | |

| Curse his luck, this girl was totally innocent. She was like a total kid, untainted and curious, she seemed to see through his fib too. He would have to be careful around her. Carly, daughter of Thaumas - she was probably the only kid Thaumas had so it wouldn't be hard to pick her out, even if he didn't remember her name. Fletcher sucked at remembering names, he usually mixed them up or just didn't care enough to even address people. Hey, you there - that was the typical greeting you would receive from Fletcher. Mr. D wasn't just rubbing off on him, he'd always been that way. He only remembered things that he considered significant and names weren't on that list. "Eh, didn't feel like sitting with other people at the time. And besides, I'm not alone anymore, I'm sitting with you." He pointed out, grinning lopsidedly at her. |
