| I enter the arena with my new bow in my right hand. I stroke it's edge and look at the nicely crafted sun. I pull it back and release it, then I load it, and turn back and run. I stop when I can barely see the target and I let my arrow fly. It flickers, turns invisible, and crashes against the ground. I curse in Ancient Greek and reload. | |

| Chris entered the arena with his bow in hand and his sniper rifle slung over one shoulder. He ran a hand along the new bow's smooth body. "This is nice," he remarked, before notching an arrow and firing in one smooth motion. Anyone watching would have seen a blur of hands and an arrow sticking into the bulls-eye down the range a moment later. Chris continued pegging targets with similar speed and precision-not one arrow missed the centre of it's target. | |

| I turn to Chris, launching my arrow and seeing it soar. It hits the bulls-eye and I sigh in relief. "Yup. Glad to see one of my cabin members doing what I ordered," I remark. In truth, I wasn't mad at my cabin, but I was kind of disappointed. It made me feel like they didn't respect me. "But maybe today is just one of their off days. You get two, you know." I pull out an invisible arrow, which I can't see until it hits the blue ring and puts a hole in it. | |

| Chris nodded. "Invisible arrow. Not bad. Let's see how well this works." He turned to the section of his quiver reserved for specialty arrows, pulled one marked with a boxing glove tag and fired. It soared down the range, the tip deploying a fat boxing glove to punch through one target. | |

| I smile. "Good, but always best to keep practicing. Arrows are supposed to be soft, like doves. Observe." I fire my arrow and it soars through the air and crashes through the middle of a target, continuing along the air until it hits the bulls eye in the next target. It stop gently, but makes an impressive hole in the target. "See, same effect, except it want farther." | |

| "For sure. That was just one of my specialty arrows. Hey, let me try one of these invisible ones." Chris notched one, took aim and fired. The arrow whistled through the air and struck the centre of the target, becoming visible. He nodded. "That flies nicely." | |

| I nod. "Hephaestus knows what they're doing." | |

| Chris sighed. "Yeah. No kidding." After another hour of target practice, Chris decided to take a break for the time being, and jogged back to the Apollo cabin.

| Aryssa calmly walked in with her quiver filled with arrows and her bow strappedon tightly to her back. In the short time she'd been in camp she'd been recognized as one of the best archers in her cabin. SHe wasn't a daughter of Apollo, but she did have a natural gift for archery. | |

| "You know the problems with bows," I say from the bench I was sitting on, "bows, and sniper rifles, are so slow. Even in the hands of an expert. Who cares how accurate you are, if the target shoots back you are toast if you don't get the shot off first."

| I walked into the Arena, pumped for some training. I wasnt any Apollo child, but I sure did love my archery-plus it was a graet chance to learn from an Apollo cabin leader. My quiver was full of arrows, and my bow was the same as always-awesomeeee."Alright ladies!-", I called as I burst through the entrance, cocked an arrow, aimed and shot at the closet dummy about 15 feet away. It landed into it's stomach-a pretty nice hit."Let's get goin!", added, walking over to who I thought was the Apollo cabin leader."Supppp?", I asked. I may have been a daughter of Ares, but I wasn't the unfriendly type. | |

| I walked in the areana. I was not one of the best archers in camp but at least I can try and practice. I loaded my new bow and pulled it back. I aimed for the target but something caught my attenion and caused my bow to land near the foot of another Apollo camper. | |
