| I sit on the stone benches, my blue Save Ferris shirt flowing in the wind, and my leg straight out. I was kinda uncomfortable, but I didn't care. I was listening to Aerosmith's "Toys in the Attic." I close my eyes as I feel the music. | |

| Even before I stepped into the Amphitheater, I heard my younger brother's music blasting from his earphones. "Oh Gods," I muttered softly as I walked over to him. As a loving brother and since I cared about Cody's health, I crouched down next to him and yanked the earbuds out of his ears. "Are you trying to make yourself go deaf?" I asked him sternly, yet with a slight smile on my face.
My pitch black sweatshirt's hood strings lashed up at my face. I rolled my soft brown eyes eyes. "The winds seriously are angry at us today, aren't they?" I commented. My eyes flitting to the sky, leaning back on the bleachers. "Styx, how can you be comfortable here?" I inquired, sitting up immediately and rubbing my back. "That was painful." I chuckled softly.

| I smile at the corner of my mouth as I shut my iPod off. "Hey, Cody." I unwrap my red and black checked sweatshirt from my waist and throw it on. It was a little baggy, but who really cared? "You were uncomfortable because you were sitting on my crutches, you doof," I say as I pick my crutches up and lean them next to the bench. "There." I run my fingers through my hair and yawn. | |

| "Watch where you're putting those deathtraps next time." I replied, a smile tugging at the corner of my mouth. "Are you, like, always tired?" I ask, smiling, turning to face Cody. "Every time I see you, you tend to yawn. Or is that just the crutches speaking?"

| I laugh. "You're funny. But, I can't get sleep with my leg needing to be straight all the time, y'know?" I flip my hair. | |

| "Ah, got it." I replied. "Now that's pretty self explanatory. Maybe ask a kid of Hypnos to knock you out for a few Zzz's. Sound good?" I suggested, my eyes glimmering.
"Anyway, so I heard you're running for Cabin Leader." I began, pivoting to face him. "Best of luck to you, man. It's a tough responsibility to withhold."
~I have no inspiration whatsoever as of now. XD Hopefully we can start something from the above topic that Cody mentioned.

| I laugh. "Maybe."
I look at him. "Yeah, but you're running too. Sure, I wanna win, but how can I win against this?" I wave my hands in front of his body.
~Not weird like, but sorta like 'Look at all this! How can I compare?'

| I chuckled softly. "You're just like Emily." I said, a wide grin on my face. "And thanks Cody. Always good to have sportsmanship competition and all that jazz." I said, nodding towards him.
An idea came to mind. Looking around, my eyes flitting from one place to the next, I figured we were alone. "Check this out, Cody, but don't tell anyone." I said softly. Standing up from on the bleachers, I waved my hand over the entire Amphitheater. Naturally, thousands of bright green buds popped up from the most unlikely of places. Including wood, frozen over ground, in addition to even the piano.
I chuckled softly. "What I loved to do in my free time." I smiled wearily. "Even if it takes a lot out of me." I sat down again, rubbing my temples.

| My eyes widen. "Whoa!" I look at him, then the buds. "Awesome!" I notice he's worn out, so I take some ambrosia out of a bag I keep in my front pocket. I take it out of the bag, and hand it to him. "Take it," I said with a smile on my face. | |

| "Thanks Cody," I said, giving him a reassuring smile. "I'll be alright." I said, taking a piece of ambrosia and savoring the delicious essence. From my perspective, ambrosia tastes like those amazing soft chocolate chip cookies that my dad and I used to make on Christmas Eve. That was... how many years ago? Eight? Nine? I shook my head to rid myself of the thoughts.
"So you getting into the Christmas spirit nowadays? I just got a Christmas tree for our cabin, 'cept it hasn't been decorated yet... I left it with Tyler. Probably a bad idea in hindsight." I said, chuckling softly.

| I stuff the rest of the ambrosia in my pocket and laugh. "I think so. But, yeah, I'm getting into the spirit. I just got red and green braces." I smile. "That enough?" | |

| "Oh yeah, red and green braces. Very spirited." I said, grinning. "Now all you need is hair dye and colored contacts." I laughed softly. "You would be my younger brother, and an Elf all at the same time." I told him, ruffling his hair. | |

| "Of course I would." I said, chuckling, catching a flying newspaper which had been flapping around in the wind. "I mean, who wouldn't?" I said, a small smile on my face as I opened up the crumpled newspaper. One look and I knew this wasn't good news, I scanned the headline. The New York Times: More Frightening Happenings
As of late, there have been a number of disappearances and inadvertent natural disasters occurring all around the New York City area. Reporters caught up with a large man in a trench coat who had seemingly been stalking a girl, who had managed to escape by means unbeknownst to anyone. Reporters questioned the man, and encouraged him to reveal his face (for he was cloaked), however all they got out of him was: "OLYMPUS GO BOOM BOOM." A mysterious and strange something to proclaim, and left everyone baffled. Later that same week, the man in the coat had vanished, and as soon as we were aware that the man was no longer in our presence, a piercing shriek seemed to be heard all around New York. What it was, we have no identifiable answer, however after the shriek ended, we spotted many buildings, cars, and even people either toppled over or seemingly frozen. We are investigating in the matter and will hopefully have results soon.
On the matter of recent periods of extreme downpours, tornados, and hurricanes, we have no lead or slight clue to what is going on. We are fearing terrorism is amidst us, but we cannot be sure. Everyone is expected to come to fill out a safety survey stating whether anyone related to you has been harmed and/or killed in the process of all this commotion. Everyone in the U.S government is trying their very best and keeping a stern gaze on New York, and if any more troubles arise, they will be right on it. Moving onto school safety, as of recent news heard from by the superintendent of boarding schools, there have been an exceeding number of run-aways, from usually the most badly-graded student. Some have been found randomly over the entire country, most either starving or close to death. There have also been an alarmingly high number of random disappearances which we have no news of. Some have turned up thousands of miles away from where they were last seen, bewildered or having no idea of what had happened in their absence.
If any readers have any clues, hints, or leads as to what is going on, please contact the emergency number stated at the bottom of [continued on pg. 6]
AND NOW ONTO SPORTS... After skimming through the entire paragraph, not bothering to skip the page six to continue -- I had already read enough -- I said to Cody: "Well... things aren't looking so great." I sighed, showing him the front page. I leaned back against the bleachers, rubbing my temples. "Gods, this Kronos war thing is starting to get on my nerves." I said bleakly, a small sense of humor in my voice.
