Danglin' My Feet' {PRIVATE to Zoey}

I wiggle my finger through a hole in my pocket as I think about kissing Zoey.

I couldn't take it anymore. I leaned forward and pressed my lips against his.

I was taken back in surprise as she kissed me. I relaxed as her soft lips connected with mine. I threw my arms around her back.

I smiled while kissing him.

I stopped, and looked into his eyes.

I looked into her beautiful stormy gray eyes.

I looked away quickly. "No, no, no. I can't do this," I said, standing up.

"What?" I call out as I stand up, too. "What's wrong?"

I shook my head, looking down and bewildered. "I can't-can't be with you," I stumbled out of my mouth. "I'm sorry, I just can't."

My heart sinks, and I look at my bare feet. I look back at her. "Why?"

I tried to look back at him, but I couldn't. I couldn't tell him.

I sit back on the rock, looking between my legs at the ground. Why...

I crossed my arms, facing opposite of him. I was so angry... The ground shook and I heard the crack of thunder in the sky.

I jolt upward, forgetting that she was a daughter of Zeus. I then see her face. Why was she so...angry?

I felt cold rain wash down my face. Whatever... I had started to forget Cole was nearyby.

I was sitting in the cold rain, but I guess, that fit the mood. I sighed deeply. This...broke my heart.

I shook my head, I looked back at Cole. He looked hurt. "What? I barely knew you."

I looked up. "So? I'd get to know you. And that kiss...you're just throwing that away?"

"Sorry. I just can't- and I guess so."

I pick my shoes up and yell, "Well, nice knowing ya!" I say angrily I start to storm off and run toward camp. I get almost to the edge of the forest when I slow down. I just sit on the dirt ground.
