| It had only been two weeks since Luce arrived, two weeks of confusion and that dreaded home sick feeling. Ever since her mother's appearance at their countryside Wisconsin home her life had turned a complete 180, all the things she thought she knew about herself were all wrong.
Yet despite all this, here she was, standing right outside the borders of camp with a big smile on her face. The wind outside was delicious, it filled her lungs with a strange sweetness she never would experience in camp. She looked up, the glorious sunset bathed her in gold-orange light while her eyes reflected the wonder of the sun.

| Drumming her fingers on the ground, Valora stared at the sky. It was really.. pretty. Most people assumed that because she was an Ares kid she was incapable of recognizing beauty, but it wasn't true. The sunset was gorgeous, with lovely bright colours which stretched across almost the entire sky.
Amber eyes smiling, she leaned back even more and laid down in the grass so the sky to fill her line of vision. Lifting her head for a bit, she spread her hair out in the grass underneath her head as a makeshift pillow. She sighed in content and rested her head again.
Peace like this was hard to come across, especially with her siblings. Her eyes narrowed and her expression darkened slightly. The siblings she would go to any end to defend against unfair stereotypes and idiotic campers. Honestly, not all Ares kids were as incredibly dense as people believed them to be. Heaving a more solemn sigh, she glanced to the side for a moment.
She needed to think, it was so hard to nowadays. She got no time, between training and constantly worrying about attacks and Kronos. War was so tiring, and physically demanding. Valora was so tired, so so tired. She just wanted to kick back and relax. Was that so much to ask for?
Taking a deep breath and exhaling, she looked at the snacks she had brought along with herself and chuckled. What to eat? She loved eating, and thankfully, even though after completing all the things required of her she really had no time, she still ate. Valora Lennox would definitely never stop eating. Dieting never was something she enjoyed, unlike so many other teenage girls. What was the appeal? She asked herself as she flipped through magazines of underweight girls in skimpy clothing and talking about how their body was the ideal type.
Selecting a cup of chocolate pudding, Valora tore the cover off and whooped gleefully as she whipped out a plastic spoon and was about to dig in when she noticed someone. A girl, a really cute looking girl, Valora wanted to.. pinch her cheeks. Must have been a daughter of Aphrodite with her looks, 'cause boys were sure to swoon at her feet. Standing up, she wondered if the girl would be okay with being invited to eat with her. She looked like she might be the type of girl to diet and turn up her nose at some good snacks but Valora shrugged, grinned, and walked towards her.
"Hi there. You're new right? Welcome to Camp Half-Blood. I'm Valora, daughter of Ares. Would you like to join me?" She asked, gesturing towards her assortment of goods. |

| The sun's beauty was hypnotizing, Luce could stare at it for hours not caring whether or not she'd go blind. Maybe being a daughter of Aphrodite attracted her to beauty, not just the pretty kind of beauty but beauty that made you contemplate on things; beauty that makes you open your eyes and go blind at the same time.
Though, her moment of contemplation ended when a girl, probably 6 inches taller than Luce, invited her to eat some snacks. Luce let go of the sun's gaze and looked straight at the girl, eye to eye. "Sure, I've been dying to eat gummy bears." A smile spread across her face as she walked toward the assortment of goods. "You do have gummy bears, right?" Scanning the goods, she spotted a plastic filled with gummy bears that were mostly red in color. Luce picked it up and started munching on one. Between bites she said, "Sorry, I'm pretty weird. Excuse my rudeness. I'm Luciana Quinn but, please, call me Luce. I'm a daughter of Aphrodite." |

| Watching as the girl went and sit down and immediately began chewin' on some gummy bears, Valora grinned wider and shook her head, following the girl to resume her previous spot.
Spooning some pudding into her mouth, she opted for silence and smiled like a goof at the sweet taste of it. How long had it been since she ate something so gloriously sugary? Too long, she decided. Devouring the pudding rapidly, she frowned at the empty cheap, plastic bowl and set it beside her. Well, some things weren't meant to last. She stared at it for a little bit before turning to the rest of the food and biting her lip.
What to eat now? She raised her index finger and whispered a rhyme while it hovered above the snacks. After doing this a few times, she picked a container with rainbow belts and smiled. Melinda loved these kinds of things. Candy, that is. She managed to carry around packs of gum, and lollipops, and all kinds of things that were sweet. It had made Valora kind of nauseous at first but she had gotten used to it and eventually, she got hooked on the stuff.
Muttering at how she could battle monsters and swing around that battle axe of hers but how she couldn't open a darn package of candy, she strained and pulled and clenched her jaw until finally, the lid came flying off. Why had that been so difficult? She asked herself, raising an eyebrow. Brushing back her hair, she glanced at the abused lid with dislike before grinning and picking a rainbow belt.
Popping part of it in her mouth joyfully, she did a little dance and shook the container lightly towards Luce as a silent offering.
Her wrist was kind of sore. Scratch that. Her whole arm was kind of sore. It had been sore for a while now actually. Maybe she needed to lay off training for a little bit. Take a break. She needed a break. Rubbing her wrist in hopes that it might make it feel better, she glanced back at the sky.
Valora had no regrets. Sure, she might have been a little resentful of the prophecy and the big three kids, since they were the reason that everyone had to run around and make sure the camp was safe at all times, but she had gotten over it. She hated to admit it, but being trained and needed to do things so often felt kind of nice. Kept her busy. She needed to be kept busy. She feared that she may become useless and not needed, so she liked having things to do.
Tipping her head to the side, she smiled a little bit and looked at Luce expectantly. |

| Gummy Bears were just the cutest little things, they made perfect snacks and were bite sized too, Luce never could grasp why her siblings hated them so. They must've considered her a freak, an outsider and perhaps not a true daughter of Aphrodite since she didn't inherit her mother's attitude; being vain and all. But Luce was vain enough to admit that she would never change herself just to fit in. It was just a matter of finding the right people.
Popping another Gummy Bear into her mouth, she leaned back and took in the calmness of her situation. No training, no strategizing, not even a single sword or spear clattered against the ground, blood stained with rage. Luce understood it to be the calm before the storm which would come very, very soon.
Luckily, children of Aphrodite weren't trained as hard as the Ares kids were, maybe the only thing Luce would do was try to make monsters fall in love with her then kill them once she had them blinded by beauty. She snorted at this thought then popped another Gummy Bear into her mouth.
Glancing to the side, Luce caught a glimpse of Valora offering her a container of candy, arms outstretched. Alarm shot through her as she saw a faint bruise located on the poor girl's outstretched arm, it was yellow-blue and looked nasty. Luce decided not to bring it up, maybe it was a sensitive topic.
"No thanks. I'm perfectly fine with Gummy Bears." Luce said, smiling. "Besides, my siblings will never forgive me if I get fat." With that, she rolled her eyes and giggled. |

| Valora muttered something about how it wasn't possible for a child of Aphrodite to get fat, Aphrodite herself wouldn't allow it before saying "Alright." and placing the container in her lap. She didn't eat another rainbow belt though. Moving on to massage her elbow and freeing up the rest of her arm, she rotated her wrist and winced at the sharp pain she felt. Inspecting it more thoroughly, she frowned at the bruise she saw and ran her fingers through her hair. She hadn't even noticed it. When had it happened?
Her arm felt like it was throbbing now that it had been discovered, she looked at the part that was revealed and stared at her long sleeved t-shirt for a moment. Would she be able to handle it if she discovered that the bruising got worse? She was wondering how she had gotten the bruise in the first place, she hadn't noticed any pain, or anything at all really. Then again, bruises was pretty rare for her.
Swallowing nervously, she rolled up the sleeve of her shirt more and took a sharp breath as her fear was confirmed. It was a pretty brilliant bruise indeed. It managed to turn green, purple, black and blue. Whistling softly, Valora really really wondered how she hadn't felt anything. Prodding at the worst of the bruising like the smart person she was, Valora stifled a cry as the angry injury let her know how much it appreciated being poked, but she visibly stiffened. Exhaling in a frustrated way, she glared at the trees before remembering someone was with her.
"Can't take five minutes off before I notice that part of my arm is a different colour from the rest of it." She said jokingly, smiling as much as she could possibly manage before turning her eyes back on her arm. Blinking a bit more than usual to make sure it was real, Valora tried to think of what she should do. She didn't like nectar or ambrosia, it was easy healing for people who couldn't handle the pain. Valora Lennox was not a wimp, she could handle such things.
However, punching a wall or something would be pretty great right now, she desperately needed to blow some steam. Nostrils flaring, she felt a sudden wave of anger come over her but it faded away quickly. She really needed to figure out what she would do.
Glancing at the sky and cursing it for being so pretty when her arm was so.. not, she shut her eyes tight. Her head was thudding noisily now too. Great. Just what she needed actually. A nasty bruise, a load of stress - which would probably be accompanied by some really unattractive pimples, and a headache. Could this day get any worse? She would never slack off again.
Clenching her jaw and opening her eyes again, she winded up the arm that wasn't hurt and glared at her array of snacks. Had she brought along anything cold? Sticking her tongue out a little bit, she shuffled through them with her good arm.
Score! A water bottle she had stuck in the freezer which was dripping with condensation. Picking it up and groaning at the dampness of it, she wiped it with the bottom of her shirt unhesitatingly and pushed it against her arm right after. Bad idea. Hissing a tad loudly, she shut her eyes again and ground her teeth. I'm making such a fool of myself. She thought, wanting to just curl up and make herself as small as possible. |

| Luce managed to devour the whole pack of Gummy Bears, her molars were now probably covered with sticky gummy stuff. Where was a toothpick when you needed one? Groaning, she started looking through the goods for more delectable sweets to fill her soon-to-be-big stomach with.
As she stretched her hand to sort through piles of sweets, Valora's good arm stretched out. Had she eaten her sweets that quickly? Well, there was no telling with other campers. Maybe Valora had a fast metabolism and decided to fatten herself since she was sure to lose a lot of weight during the war. Then, instead of pulling out more candy, Valora pulled out a damp water bottle.
"You know, you should go see an Apollo kid, unless you'd want me to help. But I warn you, the best of my healing abilities involve band aids and alcohol swabs, and maybe a little concealer." Luce winked, she tried to lighten the mood the best she could, what would Valora's reaction be?

| OOC: Got too bored, decided to join with this, screw my Ares kid x.x;
BIC: Isabel could feel a light breeze brushing against her soft cheeks, her jet black hair blew back against the tree she sat beside. Her composition book was in her hands, as usual she had been scribbling notes down. It was perfectly neat, she was a freak like that, wanting perfect pieces of music, though she had not been able to find out if they worked out correctly. She sighed. "No pianos in camp..." She muttered silently to herself.
She stretched back, leaning against the tree, glancing at her watch. "Wow... I've been here for a while." She sighed, her body felt weak, must of been lack of movement, she thought. Standing up, she brushed the dirt from her jeans, tilting her head as she saw another two girls at the far side of the field. "Another crowd out huh... That's rare..." She stretched her arms out, before approaching the two.
She heard faint conversation as she got closer to the two, she watched as one of the girls take out a water bottle, and the other speaking, though she couldn't make out what she said. She stood beside a beautiful girl, her features were perfect, the eyes, nose, everything. Must be an Aphrodite... I looked over to the other, she was nothing compared to the Aphrodite child, tanned face and she could see faint scars among the body without clothing. "Hello," She said to the two. "My names Isabel." She brushed her hair back behind her ear, giving them a light smile.

| I move my sandaled feet across the grass, glancing up at the sunset then back to in front of my feet. I had that feeling in the pit of my stomach-- Like, someone was pounding on a brass drum and you couldn't help but follow along with the beat. Like, when you have a pack or Juicy Fruit, and, you are just thinking; One more piece. Then I'll save some for tomorrow. But you end up having 40 more, and having none left for tomorrow. You just can't stop that. Or at least, I can't.
I had a backpack slung over my shoulder, positioned so both the straps were around my right shoulder. I had a striped red-and-white polo shirt, with a small symbol of a zebra on it. My Khaki shorts were just below my pants, so that I couldn't be told I was wearing short-shorts of just some of those foreign pants. Copre? Or, Capre? Something like that.
My face was in a slight smile, almost glued on there from the kind of day I was having. I was hoping that I would be able to get to town without any interruptions, but of course, that was too much to ask. I saw the girls before they saw me, (probably because they weren't looking) and couldn't resist it. I moved towards them, waving slightly when they noticed me.
"Hello Ladies. Are you sure it's safe out here so late at night? Wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you all.' I ask them, smiling in feigned concern. 'Though, you look like you can handle yourselves." I add with a mutter, stopping 4 feet from the girls. So, if I said anything stupid - like I have been recently -, they wouldn't hurt me.
