Dipping my feet in the lake, I smiled to myself at the coolness of the water and leaned back. This was great. Water was nice, the sun was shining, clear blue skies. Then I noticed someone else. Two people actually

Ugh.

My smiled dropped instantly, and I kind of scowled. Maybe if I ignored them they wouldn't notice me.

I got out my book and sat down, near the lake. I didn't care other people were here, just wanted to finish that boring book.

Sighing, I stood up and brushed off some grass and stared at them almost grudgingly. "Melinda Larkin, daughter of Aphrodite. Been here nine years. Came to the lake to get some peace and quiet but that's a lost cause now." I said, heaving a small sigh again and rotating my shoulders to get rid of the soreness.
