Ethan Stark | Ethan was always hungry. Literally. Six a.m. sparring practice? He'd eat first. Five minutes after lunch? Yeah, sure he'd take a cookie. Midnight snack? Uh, yes, of course. The demigod's stomach was as never ending and deep as Tartarus. If you looked at him though, you'd never be able to tell. His lean, muscular frame was thanks to hours of training and a very high metabolism. Mostly the metabolism, if you asked him.
Sweat still clung to the back of the demigod's neck from his recent run. Five miles was nothing to Ethan, but the evening weather made him sweat a lot, even in the spring. He couldn't wait for dinner: roast beef sandwiches and mashed potatoes. His stomach growled as he waited in line as he made small talk with one of his acquaintances.
He stocked his plate full with two sandwiches, mashed potatoes, carrots and more bread. Ethan covered the whole plate with gravy too, just for good measure. Saying goodbye to his friend, the demigod turned to take a seat at cabin one's table.

❝Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away Now it looks as though they're here to stay Oh, I believe in yesterday❞
riley moves his arm in front of his mouth to cover a yawn as he blinks sleepily. he's aware that it's lunch time but for the first time in what's felt like ages he slept through the night without any sort of nightmare so naturally he didn't want to ruin it. that's why he's standing in the lunch line in a pair of plaid pajama pants with his bed hair sticking out all over his head. he's aware of the stares he's receiving but he doesn't care enough to do anything about them. instead he picks up a plate and lifts his head just high enough so he can look over the selection of flood. nervously licking his lip he picks up a stack of barbecue ribs and places them on his plate along with a corn on the cob and mashed potatoes. he then spins on his heels to head towards his table, when he collides with another figure sending the two of them and their food to the ground. "shit"he mumbles as he looks down at his torso before turning to look at the other person. "sorry"he whispers as he brushes pieces of corn off of his pants. he tries his best to avoid making eye contact with the other boy as he makes his way to his feet, grabbing a huge stack of napkins from the table. after offering a few to the boy he bends down to wipe up his mess, he knows there's technically people to do this but he doesn't want to run away. he also doesn't want to hold a conversation because he can imagine the boy has to be pretty mad. he would be too. yet, he can't help lifting his head to study the over male. even covered in gravy and barbecue sauce he's able to tell that the male is a looker. he's several inches taller than riley and he has magnificent eyes. chewing on his lip his gaze drops to the ground as he waits for the other to yell at him.
Ethan Stark | Ethan had his eyes on the prize: cabin one's table. Once he sat down on the aged seats he would finally be able to devour his meal and then get back to the arena to resume training (where he would be able to eat more food). He wasn't more than three meters from the end of the line when he collided with someone from behind.
He slumped forward, gravy colliding with the front of his tee shirt and the legs of his gym shorts. Ethan may be a graceful fighter, but his falling skills were lack luster. "Oofda," the demigod groaned, using his arms to push himself out of the food that cluttered the floor. Barbecue sauce and gravy had painted themselves across his shirt in a galaxy - like pattern, mingling with bits of his roast beef sandwich.
His blue eyes flicked upwards towards the figure he had ran into. "No, I'm sorry," Ethan insisted, reaching for napkins as the other demigod did. "I should've been watching where I was going," he admitted, wiping up mashed potato from the floor. As he cleaned the floor and his clothing, the boy turned his attention to the other guy. Was he still in his pajamas? "Just wake up?" he asked cheekily, his face spreading into a grin.

❝Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away Now it looks as though they're here to stay Oh, I believe in yesterday❞
riley winces as the other boy continues to talk, the last thing he wants to do is have a conversation with him but he's pretty sure running away would be considered rude especially since he spilled his lunch on the boy. he nervously chews on his lip as he aggressively rubs at the sauce on his pants. he could just throw them away but why do that when he can just clean them? "it's okay"he mumbles as he looks up at the boy. his eyes widen as he hears the boy's question, he can't belief he's wearing his pajama pants. he hadn't thought of it before now but he rolled out of bed and went straight to lunch, he didn't even bother to brush his teeth! oh god's he must be disgusting. "y-yeah"he stammers as he looks away, his face turning scarlet. he's really debating just running away at this point. turning back to the boy he opens his mouth to speak, "look i have to go"he explains as he scrambles to his feet before quickly running away. instead of going back to his cabin he takes a seat on the ground by the side of the building, letting out a small sigh. he pulls his legs up to his chest, resting his elbows on his knees as he puts his hands on the side of his head. he wants nothing more than to forget about this moment but he can't stop thinking about the boy. he's seen him around before, but he only knows enough about him to know he's a son of zeus. he's also noticed how attractive he is which makes spilling his dinner mortifying. but if he's lucky he'll forget about the weird brunette who spilled food on him, he certainly has better things to do with his time.
Ethan Stark | News about Ethan normally spread around camp quickly, thanks to his parentage. Sometimes people figured things out about him before he even did. It was strange. Just because the teenager was a son of Zeus. Sometimes (most of the time) he wished he had a different parent. Anyone else, really. He could've grown plants if his parent was Demeter. He could've been smarted if his parent was Athena. He could freeze stuff if his mother was Khione. But no, he had to be the golden boy of camp, courtesy of Zeus. People were often intimidated by him, and he hated it.
After piling all of the newly used napkins he had onto what was his lunch, the demigod looked back up at the guy. His eyes were wide and his face red. Ethan's eyebrows nearly met on his face. Had he said something wrong? "You okay?" he began to ask, but the other demigod had already started running out of the Mess Hall. Exhaling with defeat, Ethan grabbed both of their trash and stood up to throw it away.
Ethan debated going back into the lunch line, but he decided people wouldn't want to stand next to someone reeking of gravy and barbecue sauce. As he was exiting the building, he noticed the same demigod from before curled up by the building. The demigod stopped in his tracks and went towards the boy. "It's really no big deal - I didn't mean to offend you, I'd wear pajamas to lunch too if I could," he said, scrambling for words. As he spoke he ended up squatting down, so that he was balancing on the front of his feet.

riley lets out a small sigh as he lifts his head to stare at the boy. "i'm fine"he spits out as he looks back at the ground. of course he's not fine but it's nothing the boy can help with. "you think i'm upset about the pajama comment?"he asks with a laugh as he looks up, "news flash, everything doesn't revolve around you"he says as his eyes narrow, "since my problems clearly don't concern you, why don't you let those girls over there help clean you off"he suggests as he tilts his head towards a group of girls watching them. with that he pushes his hands into the ground as he slowly stands up, brushing the dirt off of his pants. "i'd say see you around, but i probably won't"he says with a laugh as he turns to walk away. in another world he'd probably get to know the boy, but whenever he gets close to someone everyone ends up hurt. so it's best if he just sticks to himself, that way everyone's fine.

Ethan Stark | Ethan had grown up a hometown hero, and it was no different when he arrived in Camp Half Blood. The only difference was that instead of being praised for his football skills, he was being praised for his ability to stab a target or inspire his peers. Being in the spotlight all the was exhausting - the demigod felt a constant pressure to be perfect, when he was far from it. No one seemed to see that though, they just saw whatever they wanted to see. People are strange like that.
His sky blue eyes narrowed at the boy. Ethan wasn't often angered, but he was becoming annoyed. "News Flash: I was just being considerate," the teenager countered weakly. He was never good with conflicts, especially those involving words. His eyes followed the boy's head nod to the trio of female demigods. Ethan knew them all by name - Annika from cabin seven, Jordan from cabin sixteen, and Katherine from cabin four. They were pretty, but he didn't care for them.
Before he could respond to the boy the guy was already gone. Ethan opened his mouth to say something witty, but nothing came out. Exhaling he stood and walked over to the girls. He heard them whispering; apparently they knew who the boy was. They asked if he was alright, and what he was doing with a guy like that. All he could reply was, "I - I don't know." After a few minutes of small talk the demigod excused himself from the conversation, headed towards cabin one to clean himself up.
