history:
when cassie was born, her mother was broke but at least morpheus was still present. he took care of cassie for the first two months of her life. this gave dinah enough time to find a job that payed enough to support herself and her daughter. of course, after everything seemed to be going smoothly, morpheus vanished. dinah was more angry than she was upset but, she realized without his contribution she was going to need more help. so, her mother moved in and helped care for cassie. it wasn't long before other family members came to take turns taking care of the little brunette. their home became a constant flow of relatives. this went on for a couple months before ethel was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. it spread quickly, causing her to live in the sitting room and use a lot of space for all the machines she required.

ethel's condition worsened, leading to her death in late october of 2004. as a six year old, cassie didn't quite understand what had happened to her grandmother. dinah tried to explain but, the demigod just couldn't get it through her head that she was gone. what was most heartbreaking though was the fact that most of the family didn't show up to her funeral. there was eight people in total that attended her service. dinah pushed her relatives away in disgust. their house became desolate and their lives took a turn for the worst. cassie began getting bullied within the first week of her starting school. apparently, her nose was too round and small and kids thought it was very funny to pour paint on her clothing. this bullying carried on through middle school and high school.

cassie was diagnosed with social anxiety late in the winter of her first year of high school. she was prone to panic attacks and fainting, which led to her mother pulling her out of school. she began taking online courses, the anxiety was slightly reduced by the pills she was given and the change in lifestyle but it never entirely went away. it was a windy, monday afternoon in september when the door of her townhouse was smashed to pieces. cassie heard the commotion and decided the best idea was to climb out her window and onto the roof via the fire escape. it turned out that a hellhound had broken into her home in search of the demigod. luckily, cassie was rescued by a camper who had been searching for her. he flew her back to camp via pegasus and she's been there ever since.

fatal flaw: cassie is very sensitive and is brought to tears quickly. most often, these fits are caused by frustation, conflict, and criticism. she also suffers from social anxiety which makes a lot of everyday things difficult for her.
talents/passtimes: cassie quite enjoys art. she finds it is one of the only ways she can express herself fully. a lot of people don't understand the hardships she goes through, being bisexual and also have social anxiety. art lets her escape for a while, which sounds really cheesy but it's true. cassie also likes reading and music. although, with books she often finds herself re-reading the same sentences over and over again due to her adhd and dyslexia. music comes more easily to her though. cassie doesn't sing often for fear of someone hearing her but, when she does her voice sounds fairly well. she is more talented with a ukulele, mostly because has been taking lessons for over a year now.
