eden scofield
just have a little faith.
tray held high, eden scofield stomped towards the blue tent in the distance, her strides long and confident. in a way, she was almost desperate to get there and get this done- it didn't do well to linger on what the job at hand was. the more rational part of her mind pushed her to slow it all down, to take each moment as it came and draw it out as much as possible. but, this was never her favorite thing to do. deliver horrible rations to prisoners who didn't think they would ever see the light of day again? no thank you. usually, the job was passed off to someone lower down on the scale of things than her. but, that wasn't the case today. somehow or another, she'd been tasked with it. the guards around the tent barely looked up at her as she passed, and she noted those who were on in the afternoon at the back of her mind- they wouldn't be on later in the night. one waved a greeting to her, but given that her hands were full with the cold metal tray and she was working on balancing the food, eden didn't make any move to return the gesture. none of them checked what she was doing. there was only one prisoner in recent days. one poor soul who'd been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and ended up in the worst possible place to end up in. she felt a whole lot of pity for whoever it was. it wasn't like she'd know them. she never did. it didn't mean she didn't have the humanity to feel pity for them. it was her humanity which drove her to do what she did. what she was going to do, hopefully. eden had only been recently informed of the new prisoner, by a psychopath kid named lewis who'd definitely not been here as long as she had. not many people had spent 13 years more or less in this godforsaken camp. he'd seemed pretty disappointed that they only had one person locked in a dingy cell. there'd definitely been a strong urge to slap that disappointed look off his face. she'd questioned him some more instead, found out as much as she could about the prisoner. a female, pretty according to him. course, she couldn't think too much about her plans in close vicinity to some of the demigods around here. there were those who read what others were thinking. just the thought at the fore front of the persons mind, but if eden let herself think about an escape than she was positive she'd be dead before she got the chance. so instead she'd waited patiently, thinking about it as little as possible. planning something without thinking about it was hard, but she'd managed it. so, this chance to deliver food to the kid was almost welcome- except for when it wasn't- because it allowed one final chance to check the variables of the whole thing. check who the guards were, make sure that tonight was the night, and it'd go off without a hitch. the tent was dark, which she'd expected. the cells were all in a row, shrouded in shadows and hard to see into. most gates were open, given that there were no one inside. the one housing the lone prisoner was right at the back, and when eden reached the beginning of her cell bars, she began to tap each one. counting each of them. tap, tap. "hello?" tap, tap. "i'm here to deliver the afternoon rations to you." tap, tap, tap. "you'll have to take them when i slide them through the opening, or you'll end up eating them off the floor." tap, tap, tap. "but hey, if you don't want them, i won't refuse. it's not like our food is any better." tap, tap, clunk. bingo there were 24 bars before the heavier bar that was the door. the information was mostly useless. but, in planning an escape, eden made sure to know everything about the place she was breaking out of. sliding the tray through the gap in the gate which allowed for that and only that to pass through, she held it with shaky fingers, waiting for the girl inside to take it from her. she wasn't mean enough she'd actually let it fall. although, there were those who would.

Sutton woke up somewhere unknown. She tried to recall what had happened before she had gone unconscious, but it seemed impossible considering she had a splitting headache. As she clutched the side of her head, she sat up and looked at her surroundings. She was in a cell of course. She immediately knew where she was. Kronos' camp. It disgusted her that name. It didn't help that her mother was probably helping him, but she didn't care. She'd always remain loyal to Camp Half Blood.
Sutton had heard rumors of this place. Only a few prisoners had escaped to tell others about this horrid place. They hadn't escaped by themselves, she knew that. It was someone who was in the camp just getting information. She hoped they could come and save her, but she knew that wouldn't happen.
The rumors she had heard about this place was true. Dirty. Disgusting. She had other words ringing throughout her head. That's when the memories started coming back in a flood. She was just going off campus for once in her life, but of course she had gotten attacked. There were too many hellhounds and dracaena for her to kill. A hellhound had eventually jumped on top of her making her head hit the pavement. Then here she was. She had vowed then that she would never go in the outside world ever again.
Sutton waited for someone to come or something along those lines, but no one did. She tried to think of a plan to escape, but she knew none of them would really work. They would just laugh if she did,. It was almost like she gave up hope then and there. And to be honest, she really did. She wondered how they would torture her. They could just kill her quickly or slowly by starving her to death. She really hoped it was quickly because if they put a gun to her head or something she could always attack them. She would never die without a fight. That was just what she was taught to do no matter what. She would always have a better chance if she fought.
Eventually, someone did come. She could hear their footsteps and she quickly stood up. She could hear her voice, a female and a bit older then her. That was all she knew. And a minion of Kronos. But that was obvious so that didn't really help her situation.
At the mention of food, Sutton perked up a bit. She was starving and she could barely remember the last time she had eaten. Then she knew they wouldn't starve her. She didn't how disgusting the food was. She was still going to force herself to eat it. She didn't know when her next meal would be. "Weirdo." She muttered under her breath, her voice hoarse from not speaking for a while, when she heard her tapping on the bars. She waited a few moments before taking the food to show she wasn't starving. It looked decent, not the best food ever, but better then no food. She set the tray down before sitting down next to it and staring at it.

eden scofield
just have a little faith.
as soon as she felt the weight of the tray lift off of the tips of her fingers, eden let go. since there was no clatter, she was pretty sure that whoever was inside had taken it, and so she stepped backwards, leaning against one of the other cells across from it and folding her arms across her chest protectively. there was very little she could do for the time being, in honesty. she couldn't break a prisoner out in broad daylight... well, she could, but she'd have to have a death wish to do it. the guards outside weren't stupid or dozy, and the monsters were all wide awake and just waiting for their next meal to come along. they'd barely be blinking in the bright sunlight before they were dead on the ground. but that didn't mean she wanted to just leave. it would have been smart too, sure, but now she was here she had to take the opportunity to look around. everything was always changing, things were always getting moved around by demigods who came in here for a little game of psychopathic torture. it meant that nothing was ever set in stone. she could never use the same plan to break someone out of here, because... nothing was ever the same as last time. the light insult from the prisoner inside brought a wry smile to eden's lips, even if she couldn't see it. it wasn't like she was totally wrong- anyone who tried to deny that they were a little weird was clearly in denial. but she definitely wasn't the weirdest out of everyone in this camp. "you should really be careful who you call a weirdo 'round here. there are some people who'll peg you as someone with an incredibly foul mouth, and those are the sort of people who'll bring red hot pokers to your skin." foul, but true. slowly, eden lowered herself to the ground, wrapping her arms around her legs and resting her head on her knees. the guards upstairs wouldn't be suspicious if she didn't emerge for a while. the ones up there knew her, and they also trusted that she wasn't a traitor. bad decision on their part, but it wasn't like she was complaining. she could at least keep the girl company for a while. "i'm... i'm uh, zara, by the way." how ironic that she was probably the first person to introduce herself to the kid, and she wasn't even introducing herself under her real name. there was too much risk involved in introducing herself as eden though. if all went well, she'd be telling the girl half of what her plan was. if someone came down her when she was gone and tortured her, the first thing she'd say would be the name of the traitor who was gonna help her escape. it was much easier, and much more practical, to lie for now. "i know the food might not look that great, but you'd be a lot worse off if you didn't eat it. this isn't a place where you want to starve yourself." using one long finger in the dirt on the ground, eden drew shapes and things, random pictures which she brushed away after a few moments. this girl... she probably thought she was a monster. a traitor to the gods, someone who could never be trusted. once upon a time, that was exactly what she was. but eden had changed, and the thought that this person she didn't know would think that of her was painful. "it's not... nothing is as it seems here. just keep that in mind." leaning her head back against the bars of the cell behind her, eden sighed deeply. "i'm sorry about what happened to you. that you ended up here. i can't imagine what you must think of us all..."
ooc; i changed eden's fc lmao.

Sutton heard her sitting down. If only she could see her, she would know where to hit her to make her unconscious long enough to escape. But sadly, she couldn't see through the bars. She wanted to see the rest of her surroundings to see if there was an escape, but yet again she couldn't see through the bars. She sighed mostly to herself.
Sutton found it weird that the girl was talking to her. She was a prisoner. Not a friend. She also found it weird that she was acting like it was just a usual day and they were best friends or something. On impulse, she rolled her eyes even though the girl couldn't see through the bars. "Whatever. They better watch out though that when I get out of here that I don't stab them to death or something." She said before kicking the door with the top of her boot.
Sutton glanced down at the tray of gruel. It looked pretty disgusting, but she picked up the spoon and put some in her mouth. She thought she was going to hurl because it was gross. She had never tried it before and was almost glad she hadn't. She forced herself to swallow it, and put another spoonful in her mouth. It was cold which made it less appetizing.
When she heard her name, she raised both of her eyebrows. She had never heard that name before. It was odd name to her, but instead she responded, "Why should I tell you my name?" After a long pause, she added "I'm Sutton." She didn't know why she told Zara her name, but she had nothing better to do then talk to her. She seemed like a nice girl, but she was on Kronos' side so she told herself she had to hate her.
Sutton put a other spoonful in her mouth, resisting the urge to gag. "Yeah I can tell." She said, putting the spoon down. She had eaten most of it, but decided to save some for later in case they didn't give her dinner. She also wasn't that hungry anymore. The gruel had taken more space in her stomach then she thought it would.
Again Sutton responded, "Whatever. But if I had to rate this place I would give one star just to be nice." She said shrugging. "Why do you even care? Aren't you supposed to be you know torturing me?" She asked. She'd rather be tortured because she was sort of used to it when she was younger and it was kind of weird talking to someone who was eventually going to torture you.
After a brief pause, an idea had popped into her mind. "I uh kinda gotta use the bathroom. Where do I go?" She asked. Sutton was almost sure this would be her escape. She was already smiling behind the cell door.

eden scofield
just have a little faith.
one thing most people would say in this camp was that you didn't talk to the prisoners. you didn't hear out their sob stories, you didn't entertain their attempts at conversation. but eden wasn't most people. unlike the others, who would rather stick a hot poker in their arm than say a few words of greeting, she had no problem sitting there speaking to the girl. it did no harm. plus, it helped to know the sort of person she'd be putting her own life on the line for- so far, she seemed pretty spunky. not that eden blamed her for the hostility anyway. it was an entertaining thought, this lone prisoner singlehandedly stabbing one of the resident psychopaths to death. it brought a smile to her lips, just thinking about it. "when you get outta here, huh? already making plans... if i were in your position, though, i wouldn't hang around after i got free. i'd run straight for the trees." well... okay, no, she wouldn't. unlike this girl, however, eden knew the path she'd have to take. it wasn't as simple as heading for the trees- there was a lot of circling around, turning, making a false trail while still putting as much distance between this place and the escapee. she heard the scrape of the spoon off of the bowl of gruel, and her smile was sardonic. it was one of the most disgusting things eden had ever tasted- she wouldn't have wished it on anyone. course, she wouldn't have wished being captured on anyone either, yet here they both were. funny story was, eden had once known a zara. she'd been a supporter of kronos when eden had first arrived, and had taken her young, thirteen year old self under her wing. she wasn't as cruel as some of the others... unfortunately, her kindness hadn't saved her when she'd been accused of being a traitor. poor zara was dead and gone for a long time, but using her name brought back memories of a smiling blonde with beautiful brown eyes. shrugging in the gloom despite the fact the girl couldn't see her, she replied. "well, i don't know what they call you, and you know what they call me. that won't do, will it?" after a few beats, the girl inside introduced herself- sutton. eden committed it to memory carefully, making sure to repeat it as much as possible in her mind so she wouldn't forget. "that's a beautiful name. it means, uh... from the south town. pretty unusual, too." she heard sutton put the spoon down too, the tent quiet enough that most movements could be heard if one listened hard enough. she made a face, not that she could see it, and nodded. "you shouldn't waste the food. it doesn't taste any better later, believe me. but hey! don't let me hold weight in your decisions. i'm just a traitor and kronos supporter, after all." despite the situation, eden laughed lightly at the girls next words, her humor unexpected. "a one, huh? personally, i wouldn't even be able to give it a rating. it's terrible." sutton might not have seen it, but eden visibly shuddered at her question. torture wasn't something she enjoyed the thought of. or something which she condoned. the day she lifted her hand to torture another human being would be a sad day indeed. "i don't care. i'm just providing some advice." she spent a few long moments with her eyes shut tight, trying to think up a reply to the other question. finally, she spoke lowly, her voice barely above a whisper. "only the weak need to prove their strength by torturing someone as helpless as a girl in your situation. i'm not weak." eden was no fool. she had a pretty good idea what sutton was trying, and it amused to no end. but she'd also been given instructions on her way down that if the prisoner needed the bathroom, she was to escort her to the cell toilets (which were incredibly disgusting and gross). she even had a key- the only time she would ever get a key for these cells. she'd just not thought much of it, given that there was no chance of helping the girl escape in daylight. key or not, they'd be dead if they tried it. rising to her feet slowly, eden stretched her arms and legs before walking closer to the cell, pulling the key out of her pocket as she did so. "do yourself a favor, and don't try anything." it sounded harsh, but eden only had sutton's best interests at heart. if she tried to run, she'd die. and eden didn't want that. "don't make things hard for yourself, don't try anything incredibly stupid. don't lower my opinion of you in any way, alright?" the key slipped into the padlock, and she made no move to twist it. "and know that i'm not making threats here. i won't try stop you if you want to run. it'll be you who gets the arrow in the middle of your forehead, not me."

Sutton shrugged. "Obviously you guys are going to win against one demi-titan. I'll run for the trees and then bring others to come. I mean I do know where the camp is now." She said. She didn't care if she just told her her plan. What was she going to do? Sutton wasn't even sure is she was going to go through with her plan. She just wanted something to hold on to to motivate herself, and it was working. A million escape plans were running through her mind.
Sutton was starting to like this girl. She was nice sort of, if she wasn't on Kronos' side. She couldn't help herself. That was just how she was trained. To hate Kronos. Everyone had told he reasons to hate them. The eight year old little Sutton believed them at the time. After a while, she did have reasons of her own to hate them. Now it was a burning hatred that ran through her veins like fire catching on gasoline. She had reasons to hate them that affected her right now. The zombie apocalypse. The New Years' Eve attack. Especially the zombie apocalypse. Do you know how hard it was to kill someone you used to know? To look into the dead, lifeless eyes of someone you used to love and have to kill tem because of you? It hadn't really mattered at the moment because it was either her or them. But there was one person that affected her. A boy with bright brown eyes and brown hair that reminded herself of someone. Her brother. She had to kill him. She had to kill him, but it reminded herself of killing her own brother. She had cried for days about it. After the apocalypse she had called her brother to make sure he was alright. He was of course. But she had thought to herself. If it was her brother, what would she have done? She already knew the answer. She would die. She wouldn't be able to do it. All because of one person. Kronos.
Sutton thought of the girl on the other side of the door. She could've been at any of those battles. She could've killed her then. But she didn't because she didn't stumble upon her like the rest of people she had stumbled on. She would've gave Zara her mischievous little grin that said You better say goodbye, you're going to die now before flicking her wrist and sending her throwing knife into her chest. Then she would've just picked up her knife and moved on. However, she wouldn't have someone to talk to now, and she was a bit glad she didn't kill her.
Sutton blinked out of her reverie. She known one Zara the more she thought about it. A daughter of Athena. She had known her name before she died at the New Years' Eve attack. "You're okay. Just stay with me. What's your name?" She remembered herself saying. The girl had responded, "I'm Z-Zara, daughter of A-Athena." She had died then in Sutton's arms she hadn't remembered her until now. She remember her features. Red hair with grey eyes like every child of Athena. She was short, but looked her age.
Again, Sutton rolled her eyes at the girl even though she couldn't see her. Her eyebrows went up when she said what her name meant. She didn't even know what her own name meant. "Do you have a name dictionary with you there or something?" She responded, trying to make a joke. She didn't even find it that funny, but she couldn't help herself. She wanted it to feel as real like they were friends waiting to go into a movie or something. She didn't want to be reminded that she was locked up in a horrid camp and was going to get tortured soon. Sutton heard what she said about the gruel. If she said it didn't taste better later, then she believed her. She quickly finished the rest of it without a word or gasp in between. If she didn't want to eat something, that's what she did to get rid of it and without really tasting it. She couldn't taste it anymore though because she didn't have to chew it so as soon as she put it in her mouth, she swallowed it. Her stomach was full now, but not with something she liked. She was actually starting to feel nauseous.
Sutton smiled when she laughed. "Why do you live here then? Camp is way better. We actually have beds." She said, trying to convince her. "But hey! Don't let me hold weight in your decisions. I'm just the gods and goddess' supporter." She said repeating the girls words.
Sutton looked around her cell. She didn't really get to look around before Zara had come. It wasn't really much. Well, it was just a cell. It was just four black, dirty walls surrounding. Almost like a box, the more she thought about it. There was enough room for her to lay down on the ground sort of. Sutton turned around and raised her eyebrows at the door because of what she said. "I'm not helpless, thank you very much. I've been practicing with weapons for eight years. I know two different types of karate. I'm not as helpless as you think." She said, before leaning her back against the door again.
Sutton heard her getting up and stood up herself. She rolled her eyes at her, but the points she brought up were good. She was lying that she had to use the bathroom, but at the same time she wasn't. She felt like she'd throw up any minute know. She could barely hear what she was saying. Some thing about getting an arrow in her head? All well. It didn't matter. She just didn't want to hurl in her cell. She'd be stuck with it until someone cleaned it up, but no one probably would. She heard the key slip into the lock, and she was grinning wildly already. Her hand was on the handle, ready for her to unlock it.

eden scofield
just have a little faith.
yeah... it definitely bothered eden how it was always "you guys". implying she was included with the supporters of kronos. course, to this girl, she was. just another traitor to the gods and goddess'. but it hurt in a place deep down to know what she thought of her. if only she could tell her right this second who she was- but, who was she anyway? it wasn't like she fully supported the gods. she just preferred them over kronos and the other titans, which included her father. she was eden scofield, but what else was she? the savior of the lost? the hero of the broken, the defeated, the damned? that didn't even sound good. she was just one more lost girl in a world of many. but, instead of trying to find herself, here she was in a camp she hated, trying to save other souls just like her own. shrugging to herself, the amusement she felt at the girls plan didn't ebb. it was entertaining, at least to eden. revealing her plan to a kronos supporter... yeah, this girl was definitely smart. "that's a solid plan. except for all the parts where it's not. you might as well sit here waiting for batman to come save you for all the good it would do to try what you wanna try." absentmindedly, eden rubbed her hands up and down her arms, the fabric of her top annoying her to no end. well... it wasn't really the top which was annoying her. it was the feeling which came with being down in a place she hated so much. her last few memories of an alive zara were from when she visited the other girl down here. she'd been awaiting her execution at the time, and she'd been so distressed. because, she insisted, she was innocent of what she'd been accused of. there'd been nothing she could have done at the time, nothing she would have done, because it was long before she saw the kronos supporters for what they were. at the time, she'd never have considered trying to break her friend out. now, she regretted turning a blind eye, of course. but it wasn't as if zara was the only person she'd turned a blind eye to throughout the years. other friends, other demigods and demititans who'd all been punished for something they insisted they didn't do. people who, if she'd been smart and if she'd not allowed herself to be brainwashed so easily, she could have saved. eden shook her head lightly in the darkness, closing her eyes tightly and trying to banish those thoughts. she didn't have blood on her hands, none of their deaths were her fault- yet, she felt like she did. she felt like each and every one of their deaths would hang over her head for the rest of her life, along with the deaths of anyone who was caught in the cross hairs of what she was doing. somehow, directly or not, they were linked to her. maybe just because she should have helped them but she didn't, but either way it was a link. wow... if it were possible to slap myself upside the head, i'd be doing that right about now. eden shook herself out of her thoughts, focusing once more on the reality around her. and the girl behind the cell door, who she was sympathizing with more and more. maybe the guards had a point after all when they said don't speak to the prisoners, don't give them a chance to tell you about themselves. because even without knowing her life story, eden felt like she was responsible for her now, that she had to take care of sutton if at all possible. she felt pity for someone she'd never even seen face to face... how messed up was that? she laughed softly, shaking her head again. sutton may not have seen her movements, but eden wasn't bothered by that. it was like they were having a proper conversation, except for the fact one of them was locked up and the other was a traitor to the gods, yada yada yada. "i wish i did. i ran out of reading material a long time ago, and it's not like i can just leave and get more." she shrugged lightly. "you aren't the first sutton i've met. and i'm good at remembering what i'm told." in fact, eden had only ever known one sutton before this one, and it was a girl from one of her classes when she was around ten or eleven. she'd been a little older, but kept behind because of her unruly nature and disregard for rules. she'd not really liked that sutton, if she was being truthful. she was all brawn, no brains. thankfully, she actually liked this sutton. she waited patiently as the other girl finished her food, scratching more shapes in the dirt on the ground and wiping them away just as quick. she really had nothing to do- all of her preparations were made, at least all the ones which she could make before the actual event. everything else would have to happen as the escape did. she might have sat down with the intention to finalize her plans, but eden was staying now because she wanted to keep sutton company. a weird thought, considering the girl hated her guts. she considered her answer to the question for a long time. the minutes stretched, and it must have been awkward for sutton too (because it was definitely awkward for eden), but she just couldn't come up with a reasonable reply. finally, she settled on the first thing which popped into her mind. "you've got a good point. from what i know, it's definitely better. but i have responsibilities here... thirteen years in a place like this makes it hard for you to just up and leave." she chuckled under her breath. "do you make a habit out of being a parrot? maybe that's why you're here- camp got tired of how annoying it is to have someone mimicking everything they say, and decided to put you some place else. unfortunately, everywhere else was full and you ended up in this hovel." her tone was light, an attempt at a joke which she knew herself wasn't the best in the world. well, she was right in one sense. compared to some of the people here, sutton was incredibly skilled. but eight years was nothing on her, and nothing on a handful of other demigods and demititans here. "believe me when i say that thirteen years does a lot compared to eight." she paused, considering how that sounded, and quickly amended her statement. "then again, karate. the closest i've gotten to that is studying it in a book." eden was taking her time with unlocking the door, no doubt about that. she was no fool, and she had no doubt that sutton was already standing, and maybe, just maybe, waiting right behind it. for some insane reason, she really didn't want this girl to brush her aside and try some fabulous escape only to end up dead. well, she didn't want this girl to end up dead period. if she could speak as many warnings as possible, she had more chance getting through to her and making her understand it wouldn't be a good idea. then again, some people were incredibly stubborn, and nothing she said would change what they wanted to do. maybe sutton was one of those people. "you ready? i'm gonna open it now." one, she twisted the key in the lock, two, a click told her it was unlocked, and she pulled it out slowly, three, hand on the handle, eden pulled it wide.

It felt weird that she was talking to a supporter of Kronos. It felt out of place. She was used to talking to demigods about revenge on Kronos. However, Zara seemed interesting. And she had nothing else to do other then to scrape the scraps of gruel off the bowl, which was very boring. She sighed to herself if only she hadn't gone off campus. People had told her that that would happen. But other people said that had never happened to them. That's what led her to think that if for once she'd go off campus. For once, she'd enjoy herself and have fun. She wasn't actually going to do much that what she found a bit amusing. She was just going t go shopping because the camp store didn't provide much.
Sutton shrugged. "I'll get out of here eventually." She said to her. She was almost saying it to herself like she needed something to hold on to. Her grasp on hope was starting to escape and fade away. She wanted something to reassure her. Sutton quickly shook her head and tried to think of other things. "So uh who's your god parent?" She asked, not knowing what to say.
If Zara was a demi-titan, Sutton would laugh. She had never met another demi-titan before. It was just uncommon at camp. Half of the time, she didn't enjoy being a demi-titan. People expected since she was one, she'd be on Kronos' side. They were always giving her dirty looks or asking 'You're not a traitor, are you?' She found it quite annoying at times, but she didn't care what they thought. They didn't know her, but if they tried to she'd shove them off a cliff. She didn't appreciate them trying to learn her personal life or pretend to be friend when they absolutely hated her. She almost found it funny when they did that. However one time when she was younger, she did harm one of them. Sutton knew his plan. He was about the same age as her at the time and she still remembered his name. Joseph. He was blonde with blue eyes. He had an older brother and three younger siblings. She had always hated all of them from when they arrived to camp to now. They were still there, all of them keeping their distance from her.
The memory of what happened was still fresh in her mind. He tried to talk to her, but she didn't want to waste time. She had better things to do. Sutton had put her dagger to his throat. 'Just leave me alone I already know what you're going to.' She had said before adding a few more colorful words. 'Well you could be a traitor. We never know. What are you going to do about it anyway?' Joseph had said before fixing his sports glasses. She had pressed the dagger to his throat harder blood starting to trickle down his throat. Luckily for him, Chiron had come and helped get to the infirmary. She had gotten in trouble sadly, but she didn't really care at the time.
Sutton shrugged again. "Why not? I could suggest a few good books to you like Divergent or The Hunger Games." She said smiling. She loved reading. She'd spend most of her time at camp at the library reading. To her it felt like an escape from the world. She enjoyed any type of books from non-fiction to fantasy to sci-fi. It occupied her mind with learning or giving her ideas what the future could be like. She had read most of the books in the camp library by now.
"I don't see any responsibilities here. When I got here I didn't see any pets to take care of." She said, thinking of her own pet wolf. Mickey. He had reminded her of the cartoon. She wasn't sure how, but he did. She was teaching him, but he couldn't focus. She found it adorable no matter how much she threatened to leave him the woods, he'd keep rolling in the dirt and then eventually get up and cock his head to the side with one ear up and the other bent. She couldn't stay mad at her only true friend.
Sutton made a face at Zara even though she couldn't see her through the door. She picked up her spoon from the bowl and started to draw in the dirt with it. She certainly wasn't going to use her finger. She looked up when she said thirteen years. That was a lot and this was a camp where they went hardcore so that was probably like twenty four at camp. But still, she had stayed here for thirteen years? If Sutton was her she would've left by now. "I know uh a few different types of karate." She said trying not to brag.
Sutton stood up as she put the key in the lock. She didn't have to go to the bathroom and escaping was a bad idea like what Zara had said. But she did feel like hurling. It was disgusting and she had never eaten before. When she opened the door she saw a girl on the other side. Zara obviously. It was about a day or two since she arrived her and she hadn't seen a person since then. And here was a person. Right in front of her. She held back her nerves from trying to strangle her. Zara was older then her, but she looked like an older version of Sutton. The same brown eyes, the same brown hair. Like they were sisters. But they weren't, Sutton had a younger brother. She quickly pushed the thought aside. She didn't want to think about him right now. "So uh where's bathroom?" She asked looking around for it.

eden scofield
just have a little faith.
at the back of her mind, eden was worried. a little nagging voice kept telling her that she wouldn't have much longer down here, because those outside guarding would get suspicious. technically, she was only supposed to bring the food. maybe let the prisoner out for a bathroom break, but that was it. she wasn't supposed to sit having a conversation with her- she certainly wasn't supposed to be having what was pretty close to a heart-to-heart. she needed to get what she had to do done. she had to tell this girl what she was going to do for her later in the night. but she was finding it hard to come up with the words... what was she supposed to say? "i'm gonna break you out". that didn't seem proper. and she didn't want to give every single detail... eden liked to keep her plans private. a deep sigh escaped her lips, and she shook her head silently to herself. what an awful situation which she always ended up in. "i don't doubt that. maybe you'll even get out of here sooner than you think- anything is possible, right?" she said too much- eden clamped her mouth shut, making a face in the darkness. damn, damn, damn... but wasn't that what she needed to do? she needed to tell sutton what she was going to do... but that just didn't seem the best way to say it. attempting to calm herself, she cleared her throat. "uh... i'm not sure if you'd have heard of him. his name is- is perses. he's the titan of destruction, and peace." she paused for a second to laugh sourly, before continuing. "i guess you can sort of see why i've ended up here now, huh? it's not that i want to be. it's because it's my duty as his daughter. it's what's expected of me." her voice dropped to a whisper, and she wasn't sure of sutton heard her. "it's what i have to do if i want to catch his attention... and honestly? i hate it." because truth was, she did. eden had no love for her father. it was the same for her mother- her birth mother. there was no love held inside for them. sure, they may have come together to create her, but if it hadn't been for them, she never would have had to live such a difficult life. she wouldn't have had to live at all, probably. and sometimes, just sometimes, when it was late at night and she was feeling particularly pessimistic... she wished that had been the case. that she'd never come into the world, so she'd never have had to be born into punishment. leaning backwards again, she pressed her eyes shut and rested her head against the wall, breathing sadly. what depressing thoughts she had, right? a smile tugged at her lips, and she opened her eyes to stare at the place she imagined sutton sitting. even though she'd never seen her, she liked to think she could imagine. maybe brown hair... blue eyes, brown eyes? she sounded like she was pretty, actually. "we're not allowed to just up and leave, unfortunately. we only get to go if we've got permission, or if we're accompanying someone of a higher rank. i've not been to a book store in months." she made a face again, shrugging lightly. "i've read divergent, actually. i have the trilogy, but they're pretty battered. living in tents means that things like paper get destroyed often. i've read the hunger games too, but i don't actually have those. i borrowed them." eden twisted her fingers on her lap, pausing for a few long moments. "you should read the pretty little liar's books... or uh, the daughter of smoke and bone trilogy. they're pretty good." eden liked to read. she liked to memorize the words which she'd never seen before, learn off quotes, all of that great stuff. people used to tell her that when she was small they could keep her quiet by just giving her a new book and letting her sit in a corner on her own. and there was some truth to that- she enjoyed reading so much, she often forgot the time, and that there was actually a real world around her. she just... got caught up. she shrugged lightly, even if sutton couldn't see it, and thought about the work which was involved here. it definitely wasn't like camp half-blood, that was for sure. "we uh... we don't do the same sort of work that you guys do in camp. we have different responsibilities. like bringing food to the prisoners, guarding the perimeter, making war plans..." she trailed off for a few seconds, knowing how that must have sounded to the other girl. "some people have pets. people who came from camp, for example, might have a dog or a cat that they had there. but... animals don't like it here. for obvious reasons, what with all the monsters running around and stuff. a girl who used to share my tent had a cat which followed her everywhere for the first few days, but it disappeared after a hell hound snapped at it one day." she remembered the cat vividly, actually. it had been a scrawny little thing, black fur with grey patches. it's name had been tex, or something weird like that... the girl had been heartbroken when he disappeared. "do you have a pet back at camp?- sorry, that was rude. i shouldn't have asked." eden picked at the skin around her nails absently, wincing when she caught it the wrong way and it pulled. pushing hair back from her eyes instead, she nodded, interested. "huh. that's pretty cool. we don't do martial arts here... just uh, hand to hand and stuff. we're taught to fight brutally, with no mercy, and that means we can't be smart about our tactics." oh. honestly, eden hadn't been expecting sutton to look so young. the way she talked, the way which she'd been imagining this prisoner... she'd been expecting a battle scarred girl, pretty, but mature. it always surprised her to see that they weren't as mature as she'd thought they were. she had brown hair, brown eyes- she looked like a younger version of herself, actually. there was just something there. or maybe she was just recognizing the same personality in the other girl. who knew? "it's uh... it's down here." she gestured down the dingy corridor. "i'll bring you now. pleasure to meet you, by the way." eden held out her hand, a wry smile on her face.
ooc; whispers i gave you an opening for sutton to slam her against the wall or something aha

Sutton was going to get out of here eventually. Somehow, she promised herself. Maybe there was a window in the bathroom. At night she could sneak out through the window. But the only problem was the cell. She obviously couldn't fit through the bars, but maybe she could pick the lock or something? She'd have to figure it out later but would have to use one of her powers to see in the dark. She couldn't use it that long or she'd start to bleed. That wouldn't be good. She had hear however in other people's tales, that they had been tortured. She hoped that wouldn't happen. If it did though, she wasn't that worried. She was used to it. At that thought, she looked at her arms. There were scars running up and down both of them along with her back. She quickly averted her gaze from her arms to the ceiling.
But the thought did come to her. Maybe this girl would help her? She tried to think of what her chances were that she was. She prayed to the gods to make sure she as. She knew though, she probably wasn't. She seemed pretty loyal to Kronos. Zara must have been brainwashed or something because she seemed to like him. Sutton couldn't understand how someone could stand someone like him. The campers were practically sleeping on dirt. What happened if it snowed? Sutton didn't even want to think about it for a minute. It just seemed too cruel. Sleeping on snow in the middle of winter with just a blanket. She shivered at the thought of it.
When she said anything is possible, Sutton smiled. Maybe she would get out of here after all. But she wasn't a hundred percent sure Zara would get her out of here. If she did, she didn't know what she'd do. She'd have to wait though because if she doesn't save her she didn't have to worry about how to thank her. "Yeah, I guess." She said, shrugging nonchalantly. She was trying to act casual, but it wasn't working. She wanted to get out of here. She wanted to see Mickey, he pet wolf. She wanted to go visit her little brother Max. She just wanted to leave. Was that so hard? She could feel a tear slip down her cheek and quickly wiped it away with the back of her hand. She wasn't supposed to show weakness as her instructor back at camp would say. It was too bad she died. Sutton had loved her a lot almost like an older sister. She still remembered when she would make her practice all night.
Sutton smiled at her god parent. Another demi-titan, just like her. "I've heard of her before. I'm the daughter of Selene, titan of the moon. Boring I know." She said muttering the last part. "No I still can't guess why you ended up here. I'm a demi-titan and I don't live here. I couldn't care less about my mom." She said shrugging again. She hated her mom for tons of reasons. Some of them that were stupid reasons like she was useless and she never visited her. There were definitely mores, she just didn't want to think about them now. "It's expected of me too but I couldn't give a crap. If you wanted to catch his attention you could've done something like uh I don't know. Climb Mount Everest or eat the world's largest cake. I could uh help you with that last one though." She said, smiling at her own joke.
Sutton knew what she was talking about. She had gotten messages in her dreams to join Kronos' camp, but she knew that would never happen. It was like saying a fish could live without water. Sutton had stuck with Camp Half Blood for over eight years and she'd stay there. She hated people that switched sides. You chose that side because you believed in them. You believed that they were the good guys. You believed that side would win. You had faith in them. You had to have a little faith that they would win. Sutton believed in camp. She believed that they would win. She had faith in them, faith that not even the gods and goddesses could explain. Camp was her home and she loved it.
"Well, ask for permission. Duh." She said stating the obvious. When she said she read the two books she offered, she racked her brains for other books she had read recently. "How about the Mortal Instruments or the Maze Runner series? The first one will take you a while. Those books are gigantic." She said. Sutton nodded at her suggestions. She'd have to go to the Camp library to get those books. If she ever did get back to camp. She pushed that thought aside.
It was pretty nice to have someone else like the same books as you. They both had a lot of things in common. That's what Sutton found odd. Like they could be best friends if Zara hadn't joined Kronos or Sutton would've joined Kronos. Which was definitely not happening. It would be nice to have a friend for once. Sutton didn't have that many friends at camp. Just a few enemies here and there and that was it. She wasn't very talkative unless you came up to her.
Her eyebrows went up when she said her responsibilities. Sutton's responsibilities were different. They were more like chores. Feed Mickey, take him out for walks, clean her bed so there's no mess etc. "Feeding the prisoners as they beg for mercy. Sounds like lots of fun. Do you get paid?" She asked sarcastically. Sutton almost laughed when she said the cat ran away. "Hmm, I wonder why." he muttered under her breath. She could never take Mickey here. He'd get too scared and stick next to her more then usual. "It's okay. I have a pet wolf named Mickey." She said his image coming back to her.
"Sounds... exciting." She lied. She had chosen do martial arts and learn how to use almost every weapon. Most campers just learned how to use one weapon. Not her she learned every single one. She didn't have that many friend so might as well spend her time doing something useful.
The girl on the other side of the door was not what she expected. She pictured a blonde girl with bright blue eyes. It was the total opposite. Brown hair and brown eyes. It was like she gone into the future and she was looking at her older self. They were so alike it was uncanny. Sutton glanced down the hallway to where the bathroom was. When Zara put out her hand she glanced at it before sweeping her legs around Zara's and catching her in a choke hole. Sutton didn't know what she was going to say and decided that Zara better talk first.
