Title (Private)

Tobias was lying belly-up on his bed, his head draped off of the side, staring at the upside down wall across from him. The blood was rushing to his head, but he didn't really care. Maybe it would pop and he would die pretty quickly. Obviously, based off of the boy's mood, his little outing didn't go so well. Right afterwards, Toby stormed back to his cabin, and had locked himself in his room ever since. He only left to shower and eat. His skin was beginning to pale due to the unhealthy amount of darkness he enclosed upon himself.

Creaking outside the door. It didn't even register to Tobias until the cough, but someone had come to see him. Opening his eyes, he rolled onto his stomach and pushed himself to a sitting position on his bed. At first he couldn't tell who was at the door, because the dark form against a somewhat brighter background obscured his view. But, Toby realized that he only knew one person with crazy hair and a stature like that.

"Get out," Toby ordered, sternly, as soon as he had come upon this realization.

Tobias squinted at Finnegan. What did he think he was doing, just waltzing into his room? Did he think that if he just said sorry, then everything would be fine and they could just get busy? Toby crawled on his bed over to his nightstand and grabbed his wand.

"Sorry? You didn't forgive me when I said sorry, why the SHIT should I?!" he retorted, angrily.

Tobias watched Finnegan for a while before speaking. When he did, his voice was soft, but still held a plentiful amount of anger within it.

"Finnegan, I'm going to ask you a question, and I want you to respond logically. If two people are in a relationship, but almost all the time they seem unhappy, what do you think about that relationship?" he asked. "You hardly talk to me, and when you do, we always end up in some sort of situation in which neither of us are happy with each other." Toby looked down at his hands, fingers absent-mindedly spinning his wand.

Toby watched as Finnegan dropped to the floor and commenced to crying. Toby did not cry. He could not cry. He had been crying for weeks.

"I like you, but," he began. "I don't know how to fix it. I don't know if we can," he looked back at his hands, to Finnegan, his hands, and so on. "I love you..." Toby shook his head. "You couldn't even trust that I wasn't cheating on you..."

Toby kept quiet as Finnegan talked. When he finished, Toby sat there without saying anything. It was obvious that even when Finnegan said that they could fix this, he was doubtful himself. He pulled his legs up to his chest and crossed his arms around them. The couple sat there like this for a while, Finnegan crying on the floor and Tobias just curled into a ball.

"Alright." Almost an inaudible whisper.

Toby scooted over on the bed to make room for Finnegan, all the while avoiding eye contact. He felt the bed shift as Finnegan's weight was added. The boys sat awkwardly side by side until Finnegan broke the silence. It was true, they were extremely too far invested in each other to start over. He bit his lip and thought for a moment, but his mind was too clogged. He couldn't think straight right now. Toby shifted in the bed so that he was lying down, and he leaned his head against Finnegan's side.

"I can't think right now," he sighed, closing his eyes. His chest hurt, his mind was scrambled and his emotions were fried. Fantastic.

Toby lifted his head to better let Finnegan move himself into a lying down position. When he replaced his head, it rested on his chest. Toby took a deep breath and closed his eyes. When Finnegan spoke, Toby could hear the vibrations moving in his chest.

"Stay," Toby responded. He bit his lip, still wondering if this was a good idea. If he got his heart crushed again... would he get his heart broken? The chances were unfavorable. So why was he doing it? Was he insane? Was love just insane?
