Erwin was a caring, and kind father. He always made time for Aya. Originally, Erwin had studied and became a teacher but, he got layed off in 2008. The next year he opened his own flower shop. The two professions seem completely different but, Erwin was a evironmental science professor at a local university. Erwin is very hard-working which his job requires him to be. Aya always got her way with Erwin. He was kind of a pushover although, stern when it came to important issues. Erwin currently lives in Royal Oak, Michigan with his second wife, Karen.

Brief History: Aya was born in Royal Oak, Michigan. She grew up in the center of the city surrounded by department stores and highways. Aya spent most of her time in their backyard. She loved the trees and playing in the grass. Most of her life consisted of concrete and the sound of cars zipping past their front lawn.

Aya's school life was pretty normal. Her best friend was named Morgan. They played on the baseball team together and still keep in touch. As far as Morgan knows, Aya was sent to live at her aunt's home across the country. Aya was bullied in elementary school but, never in high school. The "popular" kids ignored her and she ignored them. It was a good few years. Except for grade nine. That was the year her father re-married. The woman was named Karen. All around, she was nice lady but, Aya had trouble accepting that her father had another girl in the house who he also had to pay attention to.

Aya arrived at Camp Half Blood in the summer of 2013. Her father had found a brochure in his mailbox for a summer camp for young adults. Aya thought it sounded cool and signed up. Little did she know that she was signing up for something more dangerous than she'd anticipated.
Physical Appearance: Aya stands at about five feet nine inches. Her legs are very long and slim and her build is petite. She is covered from head to toe in hazelnut freckles. She finds these very unattractive and often compares herself to connect-the-dots game. Aya has long, dark brown hair. It is usually wavy and windblown. She never uses an iron to tame it because, she doesn't want to damage her hair. Aya has naturally tan skin that becomes even darker in the warm months. Her eyes nearly match the color of her hair. They have a bit of a mossy green tint to them, though.
Personality: Aya is known for being very gentle and kind. She resembles a baby deer in the way she is very petite and timid. Most people who know her would describe her to be  very down to earth and compassionate. She likes nature and plants quite a lot. One things that turns Aya's stomach is the thought of being in a largely crowded area. Her anxiety kicks in and she starts to hyperventilate. Often, Aya would take days off school or ask her father to pick her up because her social anxiety was uncontrollable. She feels uncomfortable in large buildings like malls or movie theaters. Aya is also a vegetarian.
Fatal Flaw: Aya has severe social anxiety. She would most likely have a panic attack if there was ever a battle taking place or if she was forced into a crowd.

Ellen grew up in a bad part of New York. Her father abused her and her mother was murdered. As Ellen got older, she began to drink and become addicted to drugs. Even after she was pregnant with Pepper, she drank. Her sister staged an intervention when Ellen was three months pregnant and she stopped until Pepper was born. Later on, when Pepper was fourteen and told her mother she liked girls, Ellen kicked her out. Pepper was on the streets begging for food with only one pair of clothes and a cellphone. Pepper never saw Ellen again.

When Pepper found a homeless shelter it was Candace that gave her food and blankets. Pepper quickly became a regular at the shelter and bonded with Candace. After months of living there, Candace suggested that Pepper come to the girls home that she owned. Pepper lived at the girls home until going to camp. Candace was a second mother to Pepper.
Years in Camp: 1.5 years
Brief History: Pepper was born in the center of New York City. Her mother was a raging alcoholic and her father left before she was born. Pepper's childhood consisted of yelling, police sirens and the strong smell of whiskey.

It wasn't rare that Pepper would come home from school to an empty house and empty cupboards. She would tidy up, do her homework then try to sleep while her mother walked in at 2am wasted. Pepper began to care for herself when she turned seven. She walked down to the soup kitchen by herself, and washed her clothes in the kitchen sink.

When she turned twelve, Pepper was caring for her mother on the nights she came home so drunk she couldn't even make it to the door. She was thirteen when her mother got alcohol poisoning and was rushed to the hospital. Ellen hit her for the first time the next, she was yelling about the cost of an ambulance, and how they barely had enough money for food. Pepper yelled back something about the cost of alcohol and Ellen hit her again.

Pepper was fourteen when she told her mother she was a lesbian. Ellen hit her and slapped her for pushing her out the door with nothing but the clothes on her and a cellphone. She went directly to the soup kitchen, ate, then tried to find a shelter. This part of Pepper's life is called relief.

Pepper stayed at the shelter for three months before one of the volunteers, Candace asked her if she wanted to stay at the girls home that she ran. Pepper accepted and that week she would meet her girlfriend, Sidney. It took two weeks for Sidney and Pepper to bond and become friends. They started dating a month later. It didn't last long though. Just three weeks after they started dating a chimera caught Pepper's scent and wrongly slaughtered Sidney. Pepper was taken to camp by a satyr named Odile hours after the incident.
Physical Appearance: Pepper is very small. She stands at 5'1" and her build is petite. Her arms are a small and boney, as well as her legs. She has a fast metabolism which keeps her skinny. Her hair is choppy and short on her head. It was originally blonde but, she dyed it brown when she was staying at the girls home. Her eyes are deep green, almost hazel.
Personality: Pepper was emotionally scarred after watching Sidney be torn to shreds in front of her. She now is very secluded and has started to drink. She hates that she's taking after her mother but, its the only way she knows how to make the memories go away. Pepper is still as creative, polite, open-mined and prideful as before but, its buried deep down. She walks around camp with her head hanging and tries to make it by day by day. She doesn't have very many friends at camp and prefers to talk to Chiron more than any of the campers.
Fatal Flaw: She is very cocky and thinks she is always right. Pepper will never admit she is wrong or that she has done anything wrong.
Pets: Not with her at camp but, the girls home has a male German Shepherd named Edgar
