all the other kids with the pumped up kicks
Tenshi couldn't believe her luck. How stupid could demigods be? Pretty dumb apparently. Chiron didn't train them right which was terrific for her, terrifying for them. She'd met a nineteen year old son of Hermes who's name was Benjamin. He was pretty handsome, but he was a demigod. She could barely smell his scent when she passed by him in the city. It only took a bit of flirting before she pretended to forget that she wasn't supposed to tell people she was a daughter of Athena. She practically cringed at the thought, but nevertheless he believed her. Now she had him in her trap. "Here let's go somewhere else a bit more private." She said with a smirk. He quickly nodded his head before Tenshi took his hand and lead him to an alley.
Immediately, he put his hands on her tiny waist and started kissing her passionately on the lips. She had barely gotten a word out before he kissed her. She was annoyed which just made this kill even better. After a few minutes of making out, he started trailing kisses from her neck to her jawline. She smiled before whispering into his ear, "You just made a big mistake." The demigod stopped and looked back in confusion. By the time he realized she was a monster, there was a dagger in the place where his stomach would be. His eyes were wide in horror as he fell to the ground. A pool of blood surrounded where the hole was where the celestial bronze dagger once was. Her dagger was slick with the sticky, dark red blood of the boy. She smiled before glancing back down at him. The blood was everywhere and his was as pale as ghost. Tenshi couldn't help but laugh at how stupid he was. A minute later she heard sirens. She immediately fled the scene making sure not to leave any evidence.

now I'm holding on
For about the one hundredth time, Sutton was back at her father's doorstep. She was scared to face him, but she didn't know yet that that wouldn't be the worst of her problems. With her suitcase in her hand, she rang the doorbell. She could hear the familiar chime inside the house as she waited for someone to open the door. A minute or two later, someone opened the door. Someone she'd never seen come to her house before. The woman was tall, but Sutton looked down to see her wearing six inch heels. She had blonde hair that you could see was obviously dyed and bright blue eyes. Her eyes seemed to look like the only real thing on her. She seemed so very orange. Her blue eyes looked her up and down with a disgusted look. "I don't want any of your girl scout cookies. Thank you and b-bye." The woman had said before starting to close the door. "Excuse me?" Sutton questioned before setting her bag down. She didn't even know what girl scout cookies were. The woman raised her nicely trimmed blonde eyebrows before saying, "You heard what I said. I don't want any of your girl scout cookies. Now pack your bags and le-" She didn't get to finish what she was saying before Daniel came to the door. "Oh Danny boo. I was just telling this girl scout to leave." She said before focusing her eyes on Sutton.
Daniel looked at Sutton before his eyes widened. He quickly cleared his throat. "Oh dear. this is Sutton my um daughter. Sutton this is Belle, my um fiancé." Sutton couldn't believe him. He acted like he was embarrassed by her or something. "What? This can't be your fiancé! She's an orange with blue eyes and blonde hair!" Sutton wanted to scream. Where was her mom when she needed her? Her real mom, not same fake orange who was obviously after his money. She almost hoped Belle would divorce him and take all his money so Sutton could see the hurt look on his face. She'd laugh and point at him and say, Haha I told you so! But she knew if she did do that, he'd take out the belt, and she didn't need that happening.
Her dad looked at her bags suspiciously before grabbing her forearm very hardly and pulling her into the first bedroom he could find. He quickly took off his belt and whipped her numerous time, thinking that she had gotten kicked out again. Belle didn't care about her and had pretended that she didn't even know she was getting whipped. Gods, one day she hoped her mother would come back and fix all of this. Later that night, that was all she could think about. Her real mom. The thought of running away to find her slipped into her mind. It was better than staying here. Anything would be better than staying here with her dad and Belle. Her mom had to be somewhere at there, and Sutton was determined to find her one way or another.

I'm in misery but you can't see, as old as your omens
Fern couldn't believe she was still alive. She had practically given up on life. Everyone she had loved was gone, slipped away from her hands no matter how hard she held onto them. She had went through a period of time where she just slept around, drank, and got high. She was just waiting for the moment when her very heart would stop, and she would return to the people she loved. They would be in her hands again.
Fern had a 'boyfriend', Vincent. He was the fifth one of the year. He was human, one hundred percent. It was better this way. Regular people were less complicated than demigods. Vincent was similar to Nathan. All her 'boyfriends' all happened to coincidentally look similar to him. Her heart ached for him, but she could never find anything on his whereabouts, as if he had just packed up and left. There wasn't even any evidence that he was alive, so he seemed like a figment of her imagination. The only thing he left behind were painful memories that still haunted her.
Vincent was good-looking, anyone who could see would say that. But Fern. It wasn't the right person. He was the closest one to Nathan out of all of them. He had the same dark hair, same color eyes, same height and physique. He was slightly tanner and his jawline and cheekbones were sharper than Nathan's. He didn't know what he wanted to do when he got out of college, but Vincent knew he just wanted to travel and change the lives of as many people as he could. Even though it was the opposite of anything she would do, Fern was content with living that dream. She just wanted to get away from the ghosts that followed her around constantly.
The only other thing about Vincent that was different were his eyes. They might've been the exact color of Nathan's, but they didn't have the same tenderness and love as his. She could still remember that mischievous gleam he got in his eyes the day it all began. She regretted that day. If she would've just followed what Holly said, she wouldn't be in this situation. Fern still would've been rude and cold-hearted. At the same time all she could think about was, it was better to have loved than to not have loved at all. Whether she lived Vincent's dream by his side or ended up alone, all Fern knew now was to keep fighting no matter what, the fight was never over.
