Azalea Felicity Barcelona Daughter of Aphrodite
Azalea walked in the woods. She didn't even know where she was going. She was just simply bored. The daughter of Aphrodite had just arrived at Camp Half Blood. She hadn't made many friends yet. Az kept trudging along in the forest. Then she came across a large tree with branches for someone to climb it. She smirked. Azalea started climbing the tree with no problem, but by the time she had gotten to middle of the tree she had splinters all over her hands. "Never wear jeans if you're going to go climbing a tree." She muttered to herself while climbing. When she had finally got to a thick branch on the top of the tree.
Azalea was probably on top of the tallest tree in the forest. She gazed at the camp. She had to say camp was pretty big. She liked camp. She had never been to summer camp before or any camp actually. But she enjoyed it because she was free to do whatever she wanted. Azalea looked down to see if anyone was down on the ground. She had leaned too far forward and had fell off the branch. She fell on the ground with a thud! She got up and rubbed the side of her head. "Ouch." She had said to herself. Then she noticed a someone was there. "Oh...um.." She said, not knowing what to say.

Logan Shipper, a fifteen year old, angst ridden teenager, sat in the back of a cave, reading a book by lantern light, since the sun didn't stretch far enough back for him to read by the sunlight. He was so absorbed in his book that he almost didn't hear a sound. It was a thump. When you're a loner like Logan was, you heard these sounds all around you, but being in the forest, he knew he wasn't just hearing things. There was something outside of the cave.
Putting his light out, by clenching his fist above the flame, as he stood up he walked out of the cave. Any normal person would have wondered A, how he put the light out without actually touching the light, and B, why his hand wasn't burned. But Logan knew it was because he could control small fires. It was in his genes. Logan walked out of the cave and looked around for the source of the thud. He was about to give up and go back to reading his book, when he rounded a tree and saw the girl.
They saw each other at the same time, but the female, Demi-god, Logan presumed, spoke first, but she didn't seem to know what to say. Usually Logan would shy away from socializing with people at camp, but for all he knew, she could be like him. This drove him to hold out his hands for her, as a means to help her stand up. He said to her, "Here, let me help you. I'm Logan, by the way. Logan Shipper. Who are you?"

Azalea Felicity Barcelona Daughter of Aphrodite
Azalea took the boy's hand and brushed herself off when she was standing. Since she was from the 1900's, Azalea bowed to the boy. "I'm Azalea, daughter of Aphrodite. Who's your god parent?" She asked with a smile and looked at the book he was holding. "What book are you reading?" She asked curiously. Azalea wanted to know what it was like to read. She couldn't read because of her dyslexia. According to people, read was boring, but she just wanted to know what it felt like to read or write. She had tried many times, but had failed all of those times. She smiled at Logan again. "So what do you really come here for?" She asked him with her curious dark blue eyes.

Logan thought it was strange that Azalea had bowed to him. Logan Shipper's heart sank when she told him her lineage. He tended to hold grudges against children of the twelve Olympians, though he didn't know why. This meant she wasn't like him. He said in reply, "I'm the son of Hecate, goddess of magic, crossroads, torches, the likes. You probably knew that though."
Not necessarily though, Logan told himself, you've talked to plenty of Demi-gods who didn't know what Hecate was the goddess of.[/i] When she called him out about his book he hid the copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix behind his back. A lot of people around here thought that it was strange that he read, so he was insecure about reading. That's why he read in the cave all the time. He said, "Oh this, it's nothing."
"What do I come here for?" he paused, pointing towards camp, I guess I come here to get away from everything over there."

"That's different. It must be fun to have a different god parent then everyone else. And I didn't know that. I don't read much because of my dyslexia." She said and sighed. Azalea looked at the tree like she wanted to climb it again. She knew it was a bad idea considering she gained a whole lot of splinters on her hands, but she thought it was fun and hadn't climbed a tree in awhile. Azalea put her hands behind her back, so Logan couldn't see the splinters and some of the cuts on her hands. She felt fine. It doesn't hurt, really, She thought. "Are you sure it's nothing? It's okay if you like to read." She said and shrugged. Azalea looked down at the multi-colored leaves at her feet. "Why do you come here to get away from camp? Is it really that bad?" She asked raising an eyebrow. To her, camp wasn't really that bad. She could do whatever she wanted, but on the other hand she had just arrived at camp a few days so she didn't know much about camp.

Logan Shipper knew that Azalea would get the wrong impression. He didn't want anybody thinking that he was practicing witchcraft because he was reading a book about wizards. Well, of course he was practicing witchcraft, he was a child of Hecate after all, but not in the way most ordinary people and some of the campers would think. He said, "Honestly, it's just a book I'm reading."
Once again Azalea was wrong. It wasn't that he didn't like the camp. Actually, he was only still at the camp because he loved the camp. It was some of the people there that he wanted to get away from. How was he supposed to explain that to this camper, though, without sounding rude and arrogant? He decided to say, "Actually, I love the camp. It's not the camp. It's just most of the time, I feel like I'm standing alone in a crowded room. Not to mention, I was almost blamed as one of the accomplices of the Zombie Apocalypse because of my godly parentage."

"What book are you reading?" She asked and smiled at Logan. She didn't mean to pry, but she had nothing to do so she might as well talked to Logan. Again Azalea looked at the tree, wanting to climb it again but not wanting to fall down again. She sighed. "Do you climb trees often?" She asked him, unsure of what to say. She looked back at camp and smiled. Se wished this had the same powers as the Lotus Hotel and Casino. She would love to just live here forever. She could do whatever she wanted, she could roam the forest by herself without getting in trouble for once. Azalea surprising had been outside almost everyday considering she hadn't seen the outside world since she was 15. She was older than you could think, she was over 100 years old.
Azalea sighed again. "I know what you mean. Not the zombie apocalypse thing. People think I'm dumb because I'm daughter of Aphrodite. Even though I'm not. I'm more useful than you think." She sat down on the grass, tired of standing. "So what's your backstory?" She asked and looked up at him, smiling.

[color=black]Logan Shipper had never climbed a tree in his life. He spent most of his childhood, secluded inside the house, not outside with the other neighborhood kids. He knew he was different than them for as long as he could remember. Shaking his head in response to her second question, and verbally answering the first, he said, "It doesn't matter. It's just a book."
Logan looked at her as she told him about herself. He smiled, amused by her confession and looked at the ground. She had no idea what it was like, being a loner like this. When he looked up, he said, "I never said anything about you being useless." She then asked him about his life story and suddenly he didn't want to talk anymore. He could feel his skin get a shade lighter as his face paled. His history was the last thing he wanted to talk about.
"It's complicated. I try not to think about it."
"How old are you anyway?"

Azalea almost choked. "You've never climbed a tree before? It's not that hard, really." She said and remembered her fall. That was partially the branch's fault not her. She had just leaned over a bit and the branch broke. "Okay." She replied and shrugged. "Why are you smiling?" She asked and scowled at him. "And I never said anything about you saying about me being useless. I was just stating a fact." She said and crossed her arms over her chest. "Okay." She said again and remembered her history. She smiled. Some of it, like the Lotus Hotel and Casino was fun. She was able to play all different kind of games and could have anything as breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But she was a bit happy she was got out of that place while she could before she turned to 900 years old. Although, the stuff before it she didn't enjoy as much. Azalea scrunched up her nose when she thought about it. She wondered if Anne was still alive. She probably wasn't and if she wasn't she wouldn't have actually minded. She would probably dance with happiness on her grave.
When Logan asked her how old she was, Azalea felt like how she was supposed to be at her age. Her tan skin turned ale and her gaze drifted to the ground. "You wouldn't want to know." She muttered under her breath.

Logan Shipper gave her a scrutinized look, then rolled his eyes at her. He leaned against a tree behind him and told her with a smirk on his face, "Yeah, because you're supposed to fall out of the tree halfway up."
Logan frowned after saying that. Alright, that had drawn the line. He knew he was just teasing her, but did she? He hoped she didn't break out a knife and start attacking him. His eyes reflected anxiety about this. He answered her question, "Smiling? I'm not smiling."
"I've had a really rough history. I don't like reflecting back on a lot of it. I don't like telling it because people will start to feel sorry for me. And I don't want that," he paused for a second, listening to her, "What? Are you a huntress or something?

I got my bad baby by my heavenly side
And I know if I go I'll die happy tonight
Azalea rolled her eyes back at him. "Mhmm. That's what all of them say before they climb a tree. Logan Shipper you are need leaving this forest until you climb a tree." She said and smirked. She stood up in front of him, making sure she lived up to that promise. "Not climbing a tree is like not eating macaroni and cheese when you were 5. You need it to live. It is the best thing you will ever do. I'm not leaving this forest either until you climd a tree. Any tree in this entire forest." She said gesturing to all the trees surrounding them and put her hands on her hips. "Sure you're not smiling." She said and rolled her eyes at him. "Who said I was going to feel sorry for you? That sounds kind of mean but....." She trailed off not being able to finish her sentence. "No I'm not a huntress. Give up dating yeah right. The daughter of Aphrodite giving up dating. Haha that's a good one." She said.
