Alexis Castle
Daughter of Apollo
➳ Alexis was glad to get some time away from the infirmary for once. At the beginning of summer, the camp was suddenly packed with people again. While she was a very social individual, a lot more people in the camp meant a lot more injuries than she was used to dealing with during the rest of the year. She liked helping others, but she felt the passed month was spent mostly inside. She was a daughter of Apollo. She needed to step outside and take in the sun every once in a while.
Stretching her arms up and releasing some built up tension in her muscles, she took a moment to relax and take in the sun. Today was definitely a scorcher. Naturally, she sported the appropriate attire, consisting of a light blue tank top and cut-off jean shorts. She would usually be seen in leather sandals, but was wearing her Nike's, her mind set on a nice run through the forest. She had always liked running, but it was late winter under the influence of a daughter of Dionysus she knew that she decided to go for a run whenever she happened to have the free time.
In a flash she was out the door of her cabin and running, gliding over, under, and through any obstacle in her path. Free-running was so well named. She sped her way through the thicket with ease, watching her surrounding pass almost in a blur. She felt a rush that only surfaced when faced with a taste of pure freedom, so carefree that she nearly plowed into a camper. She was able to come to a stop just before ramming into him, though she stumbled back a bit, unsettled by the abruptness of her stop. "Whoa," she breathed, putting a hand to her heart. "You appeared out of nowhere," she laughed. Her breathing was slightly uneven. "I nearly rammed into you."

JOSEPH BLACK
Joseph stumbled back, suprised with what had just happened "Yeah. Next time you're free running though" Joseph said, recognizing what she was doing, as he often did so himself "try to avoid people, like up in the trees." With this, in a spectace, he often liked to use, he shadow traveled into a branch above them, and took the light from the general area of the two, but that only heightened his sense, after all he was a son of darkness. "I, am Joseph black. And you can not find me." He jumped from the tree, and rolled across the ground, dispersing energy, and landing as quietly as possible, before tapping the girl on the shoulder and whispering into her ear "What's your name?"

➳ Alexis shrugged. "I normally try to avoid people. Sorry about that. I'll considered using the trees next time," she chuckled. She was just joking of course, but there was an appeal to the idea of free-running through the trees. It would probably be a bit more challenging, and definitely more fun.
Lost in her own thoughts, she barely noticed him disappear and reappear up in a tree to illustrate his point. "Whoa," she whispered, watching him effortlessly disappear and reappear again, unable to keep up with his movements and whereabouts as he moved through the shadows. "Neat trick," she assessed with a nod of admiration. She scanned her surrounding a moment, unsure of where he ended up, she flinched when she felt a hand touch her shoulder. His whisper sent a chill down her spine and goosebumps up her arms. "I'm Alexis Castle," she introduced through a light, nervous laugh, "daughter of Apollo."

JOSEPH BLACK
Joseph smiled, and walked around her "Well, Alexis, does this scare you?" Joseph smirked, and continued circling her, giving her light touches on the shoulder, or leg or face at times. He smiled, and said "Can you find me" He crawled up a tree, and realeased all of the light he had moved, and bent what was bouncing off of him, making him invisible, unless he moved, or the person was extremely attentive.

➳ Suddenly being in the dark was definitely unsettling. Every slight shuffle caught her attention. She couldn't see him, or anything for that matter, but she could hear and almost feel him circling her. Nevertheless, she kept her feet planted firmly on the ground. In natural response to some of the touches, she flinched slightly, but mostly they just sent rushes of adrenaline that were apparent to her but invisible to him.
"I wouldn't say scared," Alexis hesitantly replied, trying to force her eyes to adjust, to no avail. Although she did not expect the light touches and they did have an effect on her, she would not have called it "fear." It was not as dark as this that day during Oktoberfest when she was attacked by that mutated Amphisbaena and slowly dying from its poison, but that was definitely scarier than this. "I would probably say," she paused for a moment, searching for the appropriate word. "'Intrigued,'" she concluded thoughtfully, shaking her head. "But not 'scared'," she smirked.
She took a moment to pay attention to her surroundings once again, trying to pinpoint his location, and trying to mentally ready herself for any sudden movements. Though the light was back, he just seemed to have completely disappeared. "I have a feeling you're a pro at hide-and-seek," she chuckled nervously, crossing her arms.
Joseph smiled, and let the light hit him again. He leaped from the tree he was standing on, to a lower tree across from him, and from there rolled onto the ground behind Alexis "You might say that" he spoke with a smile. "Would you like to learn how to use the trees" he offered with some deviosness in his voice.

➳ Though she did not physically jump, Alexis did react to the subtle sounds of rustling behind her. She did, however, become very alert, which caused her to flinch and tense up at the sound of his voice. This was what happened when things scared her. She did not scream or anything, she just tensed up in surprise. She turned around and faced him with a heavy sigh. "I also think you enjoyed that a little too much," she chuckled nervously. He was definitely a pro at freaking people out. Jump scares: not just an indie horror game thing.
Though she kept a smile on her face, she narrowed her eyes a bit at him when he asked that question, noting the guile in his voice. Playing off of his tone of voice and the cockiness he seemed to have, she answered, "I'd like to see what you think you can teach me," with a smirk.

In her response to her inquiry of his skill Joseph quickly scampered up a nearby tree. From there, he moved in a tight circle, ziveling around tree trunks, swinging from broaches, and sprinting and leaping around them, when he saw a massive what looked like a movement of troops. He threw a twig at Alexais, and shushed her, by sticking his finger over his mouth. He silently moved forward in the trees, watching the troops, when he noticed that some of them were no more than bones, or gray rotting corpses, moving. He suppressed a gag, and moved forward, bending light around him tongo invisible, as he obserelved the dead looking troops.

➳ Alexis had a hard time following his movements. She was about to comment on how she was wrong, and maybe there were a few things he could teach her, but she was interrupted by the twig thrown at her feet. She looked up at him and began to protest, but the urgent look she saw on his face and the single finger across his lips stopped her. She watched as he moved out of sight and took a glance behind her. She wasn't sure what the danger was, but she knew she would be needing her bow. Unfortunately, she had been out on a run and the weapon was left in her cabin.
Growing impatient after a few moments, Alexis took to the trees, climbing as quietly as she could to get a look at the impending danger, unsure of where Joseph had gone and when he'd be back. When the creatures Joseph must have seen came into view, Alexis clasped a hand over her own mouth to suppress a gasp. There was no way this was real. Tentatively, she took the celestial bronze dagger from her belt, clutching tightly in her palm as she observed the creatures from a distance.
