| but plant your hope with good seeds don't cover yourself with thistle and weeds Name: Tillie Rebecca Brosnan Name Meaning: Battle mighty Nicknames: None Age: Fourteen Birthday: November 7th Gender: Female God Parent: Demeter, Goddess of agriculture Claimed: Yes Years in camp: Nearly six months Mortal Family: Marion Brosnan, a 79 year old homeless man who took Tillie in. History: Tillie was born and somewhat raised in New Hampshire. Her mother was just a teenager when she became pregnant with Tillie. After Tillie was born, her mother put her up for adoption. Tillie was in and out of foster care for a good ten years. On her tenth birthday, Tillie decided she was going to ditch the foster care life and become homeless. For months she wandered around New Hampshire from soup kitchen to soup kitchen. Tillie liked this life a lot more than her previous way of living. No one questioned her, or told her what to do. She was free. At soup kitchen in Manchester, Tillie sat down across to an old groggy man who looked hungover. He brought a spoonful of beans to his mouth, half of it actually getting into his mouth and the other half dribbling down her mangled beard. Tillie sat, watching him attentively. He flashed her a quick smile before tossing his two slices of bread across the table to her. She nodded in thanks and stuffed the first one in her mouth. "Hi sir." Tillie said with a mouthful of bread. "What's your name lass?" Tillie answered him after a few minutes of stuffing her mouthful of beans.
Months later, the groggy old man, who she later learned was name Marion, started to raise Tillie. He taught her how to survive on the streets, and gave her a weapon. Just a tiny switchblade but, she needed it. Tillie thought of the old man as a father. He was the closest thing she had to one. A few months after Tillie turned thirteen, She and the old man were on their way to the soup kitchen around the corner from the little shed they lived in when a group of men in their late thirties came walking out of an alley behind them. A man with shoulder-length brown straw-like hair jumped onto Marion's back, causing him to fall to his knees. He was howling, telling Tillie to run but it was too late. Another man has Tillie's left arm. But what this man did not know was that Tillie has her switchblade. She slid it out of her pocket, flipped it open, and started to stab the mans thigh repeatedly until he let go of her arm. With a panicked expression on her face, Tillie ran. She didn't stop running until she was safely inside the soup kitchen. It wasn't until a women from behind the counter came rushing to her, asking her what had happened that Tillie noticed her arm was sliced up, her forehead was bleeding and she had red marks on her wrist from the mans grip. She slid the switchblade back in her pocket and ran back out the door. She didn't know where she was going but she just ran. She ran and ran.
A month later she ended up at the top of Half Blood Hill, being carried into the Big House. Physical Appearance: Tillie does not acknowledge trends and fashion. She doesn't like make up or anything that you put on your face really. Tillie has brown hair, that wears down almost always. Her eyes are a light brown, almost grey color. She has olive skin that's covered in freckles. Tillie is still skinny from not eating enough when she lived on the streets and she still doesn't eat much. She feels she's being selfish if she takes a lot of food. Tillie wears whatever she can find a thrift stores and whatever her half-sisters lend or give her. She doesn't own much. Personality:Tillie is the focused, hard-worker type. She's independent and intelligent. Tillie likes training and exercise and anything that requires hard work or physical activity. Her favorite thing to do at camp is weapons training. If you're ever looking for her, she's probably at the arena. Tillie is dexterous, meaning she very handy. She's good with the type of things they would teach you in boy scouts, like tying knots and making shelter out of sticks the leaves and basically any skills you would need to survive in the wild. On the other hand, Tillie is very paranoid. She is scared easily but doesn't show it. She's also very timid. Fatal Flaw: Tillie rarely interacts with campers or asks for help. She doesn't like being helped or people speaking to her. Pets: None. Talents: Tillie has good survival skills and is good with a sword and switchblade Weapons/Powers: A sword and Marion's switchblade Other: Played by Teresa Oman. Lyrics from Thistle and Weeds by Mumford & Sons.
