Rose shivered slightly as she wandered along the edge of the Lake. It wasn't especially cold, it could be much colder. But Rose was cold anyway. Probably because this morning she had decided she was sick of jeans. She'd been wearing them almost every day and was bored of them. So she had put on a very short sleeved dress and some ripped leggings. Then, just to emphasise her bare arms, she'd put on a denim vest. at least her feet were sensible, they were clad in ankle high boots. Rose had decided to go all out with her non-Winter clothing and had even put on perfume. She had a rose-shaped earring in each ear as well. The only thing that was normal was her silver nail polish. She'd put it on about two weeks ago though, so it was starting to chip.
The demititan shivered again and kept walking. She'd be even colder if she wasn't using a slight fog to keep her warm. But that gave her a kinda creepy look. Sadly there wasn't really anyone else around, so she couldn't go up to them and pretend to be dead or something. Rose sighed and walked over to the water's edge. She was careful to avoid actually stepping in the water; there was no need to get her only remotely sensible item of clothing wet. It would have been more fun if the water was frozen, but sadly it wasn't cold enough for that. As she stood there, gazing out at the water, she heard footsteps behind her. "I hear you." she said, without turning around. It obviously wasn' a monster, they couldn't tread that lightly. Besides, what kind of monster would come to a lake anyway? The forest was much more sensible. You could behind trees and everything. Here, the only way to be unseen was to walk up behind someone. And even then the ground was covered with pebbles, so it was hard to be silent.

Allison was wandering. Again. The bottom of her bright blue jeans was long enough to touch the pebbles of the lake. It was perfect weather, with a slight breeze. Well, nice weather for winter. She clutched the end of her red sweater. Breathing lowly, she noticed something, someone else. The person n front of Ally had bright red hair, that Ally wished she had. Allison hated her hair. Probably because she's insecure. The demigod wouldn't dye it, because she was worried it wouldn't look as nice. "Hello?" Allison murmured. She took a step towards her, in her red sneakers. Her left hand lightly grabbed her hair, with her right hand still tightly holding on her sweater.
Ally took a soft breath. "Hear me?" She raised an eyebrow. Then she looked down at her feet, assuming that it was her loud foot steps. But it was hard to not make noises while rocking on rocks. Clink. Step. Her feet would walk on the rocks, and kick them too. Glancing at the lake, she sniffled her nose. Maybe she was getting a cold. Thinking she should've worn a coat, Allison peered back at the girl. Then she noticed her turn around. "Um... Hi." Allison said shyly waving her hand a little, still clutching her sweater.

Rose kept her gaze on the lake as the person behind her (who she had know identified as a girl) realised how Rose had heard her. The demititan wasn't being rude, she just thought she had seen something. She narrowed her eyes slightly and looked closer. A nereid's face floated to the top of th water. Rose grinned and gave her a little wave. The nereid returned the wave before sinking back down into the depths of the lake. With that mystery solved, Rose turned to see who was behind her. She had been right, it was a girl. It would've been a bit embarassing if she'd been wrong. This girl had brown hair, and was wearing much more sensible clothing than Rose. The girl looked vaguely familiar, but Rose was sure they hadn't had a conversation before. More likely she'd just seen her around Camp every now and then.
Rose smiled at the girl and stepped away from the water's edge. A breeze ruffled her long, synthetically red hair. Sadly, it blew it right into her face. Rose pushed it out of the way quickly, gazing at the girl again. "Hello." she said brightly. Rose was pleased to have company; a conversation might distract her from the cold. She drew her fog around her more tightly, mentally not physically. "My name's Rose. Well, actually it's Madeline. But if you call me Madeline I'll have to hurt you." she added with a grin. It was always entertaining to see people's reaction to her last comment. Some people actually took her seriously and swore that they would never call her Madeline. Most just smiled vaguely, not sure whether she was joking or not.

Allison took a glance towards the blue water. She focused on the girl, as a cold wind flew by. Hair smashed into her face, but she pushed it behind her ear. As the girl greeted her, Ally smiled. "I'm Allison. But you can call me Ally, or Allison." She said with a small smile. She placed a hand in her pocket, for warmth. Finally, she let go of her sweater, and placed it in her pocket. "Hi Ma-," Ally said. Then, she heard the other half of the sentence. Good old Allison. She always jumped ahead, or jumped to a conclusion. Her 'idea' was never correct, it was usually false. "Sorry, Rose." Allison said, with a sly smile. "Cratos." Ally nodded. She flipped her hair back, then tapped her foot. Stop fidgeting, Al, the demigod thought.

Rose shivered slightly as another cold wind blew around her and Allison. Why did Winter have to be so cold? This wasn't even one of the colder days and Rose was freezing. It probably had something to do with the fact that she was wearing clothing that might be more appropriate for spring, but still. If only I was a daughter of Khione, she thought wryly. Then I wouldn't feel this at all. But Rose was a daughter of Tethys, and she was proud of that. She was one of the few demititans at Camp, which meant she was special.
Rose raised an eyebrow as Ally went to call her Madeline. Luckily for her she realised her mistake and quickly switched to Rose. She honestly didn't know what had posessed her father to call her Madeline. It hadn't been her mother, she knew that for a fact. But seriously, who was called Madeline anymore? When she was a little girl she had gone along with the stupid name. But when she was eight or so she announced that she preferred Rose. That was also the year she died her hair. "Tethys." Rose said, in reply to Ally's Godly parent. She had just nodded vaguely when she had said Cratos. Rose honestly had no idea who he was the god of, she just knew that he was minor. Even if she wasn't a total nerd about Greek mythology Rose could still identify the 12 Olympians. "Titaness of rivers, streams, fountains and clouds." she added. Not many people knew who Tethys was. They pretty much only knew who Kronos was when it came to identifying Titans.
Rose twirled her relatively thick hair around her hand as she waited for Ally to respond. When she didn't after a few seconds Rose got impatient. "So what are you doing here?" she asked innocently. Not many people would come to the Lake on a cold day like today.

Allison shook her head, at the slightest. It was accidental, but only because she was cold. If only they could continue talking inside instead of the coldness from outside. When Madeline- Rose, said Tethys, Allison was rather surprised. Allison wondered why Rose didn't like her name. Maybe it was best not to ask. Madeline was a pretty name. Allison felt her name was boring. The name Allison meant "of a noble kind". It suited Allison, however. Cratos was the the personification of strength and power. A titan. Kronos. Allison opened her eyes widely, as a sharp pain went through her stomach. After Rose had mentioned what Tethys was the titan of, she nodded. What was she doing here. "Well." Allison said raisin an eyebrow. "I wanted to go for a walk... Maybe sneak off campus. But the cold weather ruined my plans." Allison said. "It's getting colder by the second, want to go somewhere else?" Allison asked wrapping an arm around her other.

Rose shivered again as another cold wind blasted her in the face. It seemed that Allison was cold as well. They were pretty much just taking turns shivering. If Rose hadn't been having a conversation she would be moving around now. Or she might be inside. Even though moving around warmed you up, Rose was sure the only way she wouldn't be cold was if she was inside, standing next to a heater or a fire or something. A bonfire would be even better. Sadly bonfires only seemed to be around in Summer. The cold and wet made it harder to light them or something.
Rose watched Ally's reaction carefully, noting how her eyes widened as she said the word 'Titaness'. Well, at least she was more subtle than most people. The majority of people Rose had met usually flinched or something. One time the person had even given a little scream. Honestly, there's one bad titan and suddenly they're all evil. "Well, I'm glad to see you're not going to freak out on me because I'm a demititan." Rose said approvingly. Quite a few people got intimidated when they learned she was different. But the majority of people just accepted it. That was the good thing about demigods. With all the monsters and stuff they saw it was much harder to surprise them.
Rose nodded vigorously as Ally suggested going somewhere else. "Yes please. If I stay here any longer I'm going to get frostbite or something. Any place in particular you want to go?" she asked. Rose's opinion on Ally had been boosted much higher when she said she was considering going off campus. Anybody who did that got into Rose's good books.
