| Subject: What is a "face claim"? [READ BEFORE YOU ASK] Sat Nov 03, 2012 7:35 am | |
| What is a face claim? It's astounding, the number of people who ask this. So, what is a face claim? A face claim is like using an actor or any other famous person to portray your character. Say, you want to use Boots from Dora the Explorer. I don't advise this, as he is a monkey, but let's use him as an example. You claim Boots in the claiming thread by using the form provided. Then, when you write your character, you can use him for reference for the appearance, and add a nice picture to it.
When you make a face-claim, they are used. This means no one else can use them. But it also means you can't claim one who is already in use. How do you know? You use the handy search function! More information in the claiming thread. But, this doesn't mean you can't have a shared claim. This means you and another person have the same claim. For this, you need to contact the person who already holds the claim.
I hope this helps. If you still don't understand the concept, feel free to ask someone in the Chatbox or PM someone, whether it be a member who might know, or any of the staff members. (These can be Character Mods, Moderators, or Admins) |
