Wyatt Hamilton Jones made his way, hastily into his cabin, led by Blizzard, his lead dog. He heard her bark and followed it, sitting down on the bunk, he never would be able to see. He would never be able to see it's appearance, or if it was neat or not. He would never be able to see again. He picked his leg up and placed it on top of his other and felt his way to his shoe laces. He slowly figured out how to untie them.
Being blind sucked, in Wyatt Jones' perspective. You couldn't see anything and you had to hear or feel your way around everything. Wyatt took off one shoe and did the same with the other. He set both feet on the floor, parallel with each other. He felt Blizzard come up and curl up around his feet. He wished he could see what Blizzard looked like, but that was extremely impossible.
Wyatt supposed there was a positive side to being blind. For one, you weren't judging people on their appearance, like so many do today. Another plus, was that you could focus on what people were saying, rather than whether they had a smile on their face or not. Wyatt liked this; he didn't want to judge someone on what they looked like on the outside. He didn't even like judging people. A person should be judged, by how they are on the inside.
Wyatt felt under his pillow until he picked up a thick book. The book was in brail, which was why it was so thick. He opened it up to a random page and started to read it, probably staring off into the distance. Well, he wouldn't call it staring, as he wouldn't see anything.
Reading about Greek Mythology, Wyatt imagined a lady with green snakes as hair. He imagined her turning a man to stone. He shivered, in disgust. Medusa disgusted him. He did want to know, would he be turned to stone if he 'looked' into Medusa's eyes. This story haunted him, ever since the first time he read it.
