Avery's Summer Bash!

Aahz Byken rose from his bed half-asleep, stumbling on the pile of clothes and random junk that his roommates had strewn across the floor. By now, he had learned to simply ignore, it for complaining did nothing to stop it. So, he quietly shuffled his way to the door of the bunk room and slid out the door.

He ambled down the empty hallway, grumbling about something or the other, he wasn't quite sure anymore. He had never been an early bird.

Something in the back of his mind registered the odd silence of the cabin, the unusual lack of loud shouts, blaring music, and random objects being tossed about. But his conscious didn't care. At last, he reached the kitchen, and nearly tripped over the... Clean floor? Nah. Impossible. He pushed this thought aside and crept into the kitchen. He knelt down, opened one of the many cabinets which happened to be at the very bottom, on the ground, and carefully removed the false bottom he had so cleverly installed so long ago. He snaked his hand into his secret stash and pulled out a fresh, iced Coke.

He popped the tab and heard the refreshing hiss as the can pressurized. He secured the hidden hatch again, closed the cabin, turned and the ball of his foot, and exited the kitchen into the main lounge area. From there, he turned the the hallway, walked half its length...

And then noticed the decorations.

He scrambled back to the lounge area and found that it was full of banners, balloons, decorated tables, and all sorts of assorted party decor. He was astounded that he had walked past this display, not once, but twice, and had failed to notice, especially since he had actually had to push back a couple of balloons to make his journey to the kitchen.

He nearly dropped his Coke as he studied the room. This was probably the most decorated he had ever seen this room, as mostly people just started partying at their whim, with no planning or anything, so there was no forethought of decor.

He noticed to girls talking on the porch through the open door. He had never been good with names, so he couldn't for the life of him figure out who they were, but he managed a, "Wha?" and then sat/flopped onto the nearest seat, which happened to be a sofa.

Aahz studied the girl who had directed her question at him. It took him a moment, but he remembered who she was. Thankfully, the Coke had woken him a little, so at least now he could think straight.
"Hey, Avery," he replied. "Pretty nice actually. Don't think I've ever seen this place like this. Nice job."
He disappeared into the kitchen and returned with a small ice-filled cooler. He popped the lid and revealed around two dozen assorted sodas, his own secret stash.
"On me," he said, smiling. "Don't worry, I'll be getting more in in a few days."
