Jazzie set the saddle on Poppy's back, and jumped up. She snapped the reins, and Poppy started to gallop. The got about a quarter mile when Poppy heard a strange noise. She turned around. Jazzie was pulling at the reins, trying to get Poppy to stop. "Stop Poppy!" Jazzie screamed. Poppy didn't stop. She just kept going in the same direction. | |

| Lyra had been riding along the path when she heard someone scream "Stop!" Lyra nudged her great black horse, Thestral, into a canter. The sound of galloping hooves became farther away. Lyra kicked Thestral, something that she didn't usually do. She was riding far away from the trail when Lyra caught up with the girl being pulled away. She looked around Lyra's age, but unlike Lyra, she was not having fun. "Your giving her the wrong message. Stand up into two-point and steer her into a circle." Lyra instructed. "Like this." Lyra galloped for a couple of strides, then tugged gently at Thestral's reins, while at the same time pushing her left leg on his flank, urging him to turn right. She slowed him down to watch what the girl would try to do. | |

| Jazzie nodded. She pulled the reins to the right, making Poppy turn. Luckily, Poppy was obedient. She started trancing in circles. Jazzie smiled. "Thanks. I'm Jazzie by the way. And you are?" she asked with a warm smile. She stopped Poppy next to Thestral. | |

| "Lyra Jenna Wolfe." Lyra nodded at the girl. "Hello." She said. When the girl pulled in next to Thestral, Lyra made a small circled to pull in a little farther away. "Horses can't be that close together." She explained.
