This was the PERFECT day so far. Well, considering it was only 10:00 A.M.

It was a risk to go out of camp, but I had felt cooped up, and socialy deprived. A girl needs some life! So, I had snuck out of camp, and gotten a great bus ride to my favorite store EVER. Barnes and Noble.

There was a Starbucks there, and the whole place smelled like new books, and coffee. The place was cozy, and comfy, and filled with novels, magazines, and notebooks. That was part of the reason why I came here. I needed a new notebook.

So, I bought the first notebook that caught my eye. It was a dark forest green, with a silver swirly pattern on the bottom right corner. The pages were crisp, and clean as a spring breeze. My favorite thing in the world. Well, one of my favorites.

When I had gotten done checking out the notebook, I bought a caramel mocha, grabbed a pen out of my shoulder bag, and started writing in my notebook. It was a challenge, because I had just gotten over a recent writers block, and it was hard to think of new materiel, but I had a story.

It was about a girl who was lost on an island, but also lost in her thoughts. All her memories were erased, but a boy keeps following her, yet not showing himself, and she keeps getting confused. And every night when she's sleeping, the boy would come, and give her a note, and some food. But, every night, the notes he left her blew away.

I was about to dot the end of my sentance with a period, when the door opened with the ting sound of the bell at the top of the door. It was loud, and I couldn't help but look up at the person who came in, interupting my train of thought.

There's a place where the broken go
There's a room full of second chances

Chase walked into Barnes and Noble, not expecting anything big to be happening. He sighed, running his fingers through his hair as he went up to get a drink. He sighed, why couldn't camp have fun things to do? He shook his head, flashing a smile to the lady as she gave him his tea. “Thanks." He went and sat down, but he couldn't help but notice the girl that had stared at him as he came in. Of course he had noticed, who wouldn't notice? He went up to her, getting over his usual shy manner. "Hi. I'm Chase." He smiled at her, noticing the notebook and the writing across it. Journalist, author, or just someone who most likely wanted somewhere quiet to work, and now he was disturbing them. He bit his lip, and continued to stand, ready to walk away if she yelled at him. He sighed, shoving one hand into a pocket as he took a drink, waiting for an answer.

I hadn't meant to stare, but he seemed like a demigod. People always had this essence about them, no matter what it cast off. He seemed shy, but nonetheless a demigod. I smiled brightly at him, my purple eyes glowing. "Hi! My name is Alex," I said. "You can sit down if you want."

I shut my notebook, and slid the pen in the swirly metal spine of the notebook. I took a sip of my mocha, and it was delicious, but to me, it needed more caramel. As I took that sip, I thought about something. Was I being over friendly? I never thought about it before. I didn't think so. Being friendly was in my nature.

Chase looked at the girl for a moment before finally sitting down. She was being nice. Like, really nice. He raised his eyebrows as she offered him a seat. "Uhm, thanks." he said quietly. He looked at her, "Do you go to camp?" something in his gut told him that she did. He smiled at her a bit. She was a pretty girl he said to himself. He looked at her, waiting for an answer. He took a sip of his tea. It was surprisingly really good for a fake-ish Starbucks in Barnes and Noble.

My eyes lit up as I set my mocha softly down on the table. I knew it!

"Yeah, I do!" I said, flashing another smile. Then I blushed, forgetting my manners while looking at him. "By the way, my names is Alex. Alex Long," I said. The side of my mouth twitched, like they always did. I always felt like I could never go without smiling.
