coincidental meeting (open)

Two patients, one with a sprained ankle and the other with a burn, made up the complete list of patients today. Tallulah was feeling a little more than slightly useless. To make up for feeling so out of place she had cleaned everything, reorganized all the supplies and medicines, and changed all the bedding. Despite her shift ending three hours ago and it being nearly five o'clock, she felt bad leaving when she had done so little to help. Tallulah was told countless times to go back to her cabin to sleep since she had been here since four in the morning. Of course she knew it was a smart idea but at the same time she was worried that something would actually happen after she left and there wouldn't be anyone there that could help the way she could. After probably the hundredth time of being told they had it under control, Tallulah gave up and gathered her stuff, walking out the door and slowly back to her cabin, paying no attention to her surroundings

Tallulah rounded the corner of the building with the goal of getting back to her bed firmly in mind. The young woman was lost thinking about her sister and how life may have turned out if she were still around. If Clementine were still alive she might not have ever come to camp. They might still be living with her father. Or maybe their mom still would have come to get them. Maybe the two of them would be here together, helping people. It didn't really matter though because that was a closed door. It would ever happen. No use wasting time on what ifs.
Tallulah tripped over a boy's foot due to her lack of attention to anything that wasn't outside of her mind. She looked around, slightly dazed before understanding she had tripped over something, probably a tree root. Quickly, she stood up and wiped the dirt off. Tallulah looked around quickly to see in anyone had seen her trip and saw that what she tripped over was a who. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. Do you need help?" she asked realizing he was probably injured and just too proud to admit it and ask for help. Why else would he be hanging around the infirmary?

"Oh... alright," Tallulah said, sounding a bit too crestfallen that he wasn't injured. Of course she didn't wish an injury upon him, rather she had hoped she could be of use. "Well, why are you here then?" she blurted out before properly thinking through her question which caused her cheeks to darken three or four shades. "I-i mean... What would bring you to the infirmary if not an injury?" she amended quickly hoping to cover for her lack of finesse with her previous statement. How embarrassing for her to slip up so clumsily! Twice. It must be some new kind of record.

Tallulah wasn't sure what to make of his answer. On the one side, it irritated her that the infirmary would have so few people that it was a good place to think. Which came back to the whole 'she feels useless today' thing. But she wasn't asking for people to go out and get hurt.
"Well, can't you go think somewhere else? This isn't the place for you to 'think'! It's the place where there should be a constant flow activity and lives being saved!" she snapped, letting her irritations flow free before she had the chance to control them.
"That's not what I meant... Sorry. Today has just been particularly frustrating. Too quiet. No one needing my help. So to answer your question, I'm here because I live here. Since I was five. It's what I was born to do," she explained sitting down on a tree root facing the path towards the infirmary. There was no way Tallulah was going back to her cabin. If someone came, she would be the first one there and ready to soothe the pain so proper treatment was easier.

His flat tone sort of irritated Tallulah. Didn't he have any emotion at all? What was wrong with him? Maybe I did something to annoy him. Well, if he thought he could scare me off, he was wrong. she thought stubbornly. His eyes met hers and he seemed to be waiting for a specific reaction from her. "I'm Tallulah, by the way," she said casually looking back down the path.

Tallulah wasn't quite sure what to say so she said nothing at all. Obviously he didn't want to talk to her. Silence fell upon them as she watched the path intensely. Naturally, her mind wandered back to her sister as she thought about how Clementine would be appalled at the lack of conversation and would probably be whispering in her ear, "I think he has a crush on you!" just to give her confidence and make her giggle. Clementine made everyone feel comfortable no matter the circumstances...

Tallulah looked up and smiled. "It's a pleasure to meet you," she said before falling back into silence.
"Tal! My belle!" an italian accented, female's voice called. Bianca came down the path flanked by two Ares's girls. "Do you remember that debt you know me? It had to do with getting a drug no one else could get you? Well, it's time for you to pay the favor back! There is something wrong with my stallion. You are going to sit with him and obliviate his pain until I find someone who can fix him, alright?" she asked, despite the fact that it was more of a demand.
"I can't take it away completely or it will drain me, Bianca! You know that, and if I try to do it for too long i could pass out or get sick or even die!" Tallulah objected, "Animal's have a higher pain tolerance than humans anyway."
Bianca smirked as she said, "I guess you better hope I find someone soon then!"
Tallulah groaned as she stood. "I guess I'll see you around sometime then Arctos?"

Bianca raised an eyebrow as she studied the boy. After a minute she took out her phone and dialed a number. Two rings and the line was answered in a male's thick italian. "Sì, è me---Il mio stallone è ferito---Non è che il vostro lavoro alla figura fuori---Biglietti di prima classe qui---Marco vi farà pagare!" She pressed the end button and handed the phone to the girl on her left. "That was too long. Traceable. Take it into the city, make another traceable, then destroy it, please!" Bianca commanded before turning back to Arctos. "Alright, but if you hurt him, nonni will obliterate you! If you manage to help him then I will pay you what I planned to pay all the other vets. Thank you."
Tallulah kept her eyes on Arctos. Bianca scared her too much. She really did not like that look he gave her. As if he was trying to tell her he might need her. She had been hoping to be released

"Yeah, she made another girl give up the space for her horse and knocked down the wall in between just so her horse could have a shelf so it could see it's trophies everyday. She's so overly extravagant! And she never forgets a debt either, unfortunately..." Tallulah told him, frustrated as she walked towards the stables
