The Creek.

I sit at the edge of the creek, Calliope fluttering around my head. I kick off my shoes and dip my feet into the cool, slowly flowing water.

With nothing else to do, I decide to head down to the creek. It's less crowded than the lake or the beach, but just as beautiful. As I get closer, I see a girl with long, red hair sitting on the shore. I stand behind her. "Hey."

I look up, slightly dazed and a little mad that my sanctuary's been disrupted. But whatever, I'm new and I could use some friends. "Hi," I say, flipping back my hair.

"I'm Emerick, son of Demeter," I offer her my hand. I noticed a bird flitting around the girl's head. "What's with the bird ?"

"Oh, that's Calliope," I say, smiling at her antics. "She's a bluebird. Her kind's very rare around here, I think." I shake his hand. "If you're a son of Demeter, you must be my uncle. My mother is Persephone."

I make two quick whistles at the bird, and outstretch my hand. Calliope lands on my arm, and I stroke her head. "Your uncle ? Let's not think of each other that way, it's a little disturbing. All the relationships are a little whack around here." I laugh, thinking of all my ' brothers and sisters. '

My stomach grumbles and I realize that I am really hungry. 'See you later !' I call to the girl as I head off to the mess hall.

My stomach agrees with Emerick, and I laugh. I tell Calliope to go back to the cabin, and run after Emerick.

I walked up to the creek, and I listened to the sounds of nature. The flowing water, I could smell the pine trees, I loved going here. I sat down, and thought about the half brothers, and half sisters here. I wondered who I might be related to here. I was about to doze off to sleep, When I heard some thunder. A little rain drop landed on my arm. "Uh oh. This is NOT good!" I started running toward my cabin holding my hands above my head.

I walk along the creek and spot a place that's still dry. I sit down and take out my little flute. I play a few notes and some birds come to fly around me. I lay down and fall asleep almost immediately. I wake up when I feel something nibbling on my toes. I sit up and laugh when I see the fish snacking on my feet. I pull my feet out of the water and stand up. As I put on my shoes the little birds fly off. I walk back to camp feeling peaceful. Lilius Tarson, Daughter of Poseidon

I walked toward the creek, with a coke in one hand, and a book in another. I sat down near the creek, and started reading. I put down my book, and opened the coke can. I laid down, and looked above me. I loved the way that lots of trees were here, and a nice creek. It was perfect. I leaned up aginst a tree, and read. I heard a rustle of leaves coming from above. "Huh? Whats that?" I say. It was probally a bird or somthing. The sound came closer, and I found a pure white squirrel next to me. " Dont scare me like that Salali!" I say. Salali nodded, and found an acorn. She started nibblinig on it. I slowl fell alseep to the sound of the water. "Wake up!" a voice said. "Wake up!" It started shaking me. I opened one eye, and found a tree nymph staring at me. "Dont lean on me like that!" She said. I didn't realise I wasn't on the tree anymore. I was flat on the ground. "Sorry!" I said. I walk over to a patch of grass and water the tree that I want to lean on. ¨Please don´t be mad tree nymph.¨ I say. I sit down and lean on the tree. I look up and see a white parrot circling around my head. ¨What the?¨
