KONY 2012: Invisible Children

Invisible Children, came to my school this year. I remeber sitting their, watching, listening. It changed my life, it made me realize, some of the things I want to do in my life. Please, watch this video.

I watched the very same video yesterday afternoon (high5 for the power of Tumblr), and shared it as well.

Watched this on facebook. Bought 25 posters to stick up for April, as well as the bracelet.

Wait, is everyone just seeing this now? Because I saw this two years ago, and I was surprised nobody was doing anything about it.

The speakers we're amazing, and it was so sad. We watched the video about the kid Tony, and there was some parts that made you want to bawl.

I want to buy the posters, but I'm not sure, how to go about asking my parents.

You realize this is a scam, right? >.<

Joseph Kony has been inactive for since 2006. He's not even in Uganda.

This is an example of 'the white man's burden.' Never has any country actually asked the United States to intervene (in Africa). Our society sees them as third-world and needs westernization. That's the disgusting thing. Donating money won't help anything. You do realize it's not clear what you're donating for/to? To Uganda. To stop Kony and the LRA. But what will be done with your money? You need to understand that, kid. I do stacks of research before donating (which I don't do, since I don't trust anyone or anything). That linked article proves nothing (they also worked with Invisible Children?) Invisible Children started out as a group of film students in college. That's why the Kony video is so high quality. The majority of the profits go towards film production. The rest? Personal checks (they all have fancy cars and loads of money (even said in your article)). The other small percent? Who the hell knows?

Not to mention, more than 35% of their donations go towards personal checks. They're based in San Diego (or SF, I don't remember).

That was not a juvenile move at all. Grow up. Disliking something because you don't agree? Wow. You are so mature. I aspire to be like you.

I think the footage dates back to circa 2002-2004.
Ugandans have more problems with the Al Quaida terrorist group than the LRA. Some of the leaders shown are dead now.

These guys, though, went on a trip and decided to make-up a story for profit.

Uh, I know it's an American thing, but you do know Obama has sent out about a thousand soldiers to Africa? And coincidently, OIL has been found there. Yep, O-I-L. I don't know. Kony actually is dead. I don't even think the US of A's government even care about a small town/country/city's rebellious leaders. But only recently didthey try to 'surpress' the 'rebellion' in Uganda.

And the co-founder of Invisible Children (Jason Russell, father of Gavin) was arrested for public-touching-himself.

I personally think that KONY is not dead. And even if he was, his movement is still growing strong. He's at the top of the most wanted criminals list, yet barely 2% of the world knows about him. I hate to be mean, but i strongly think that Kony is still out there, and no one is doing anything to help. I strongly dissagree with people who think that KONY2012 is a scam.
